That's the way my Husband went. His eyes were so peaceful, he said it'd been a great ride, and he just wanted to cross over here in our home. I was so very blessed, and though I miss him terribly, he asked me to please be happy. To let the sun shine on my face each morning, and to never stop being me. I love you sweetie, and I know you're at Peace. I hope I'm making you proud.

It will be 7 years on October 3rd since my Husband passed away. Sometimes I feel like it was yesterday. He had been on Hospice care at home and I had quit my job as a nurse to be home with him on this old farm that he was raised on and we raised Our children on. I'm so thankful that I chose to be with him in his final years. A few day before he passed away he asked me to take him out on Our porch, as I did he asked if I could hear the doves. He then sang "On the Wings of a Snow White Dove" to me and it was then that I knew His time was near. We gathered our children and grandchildren, who were little guys at the time, but they loved their "Bumpa", we spent hours talking, he even told us that he wished he could box us all up and take us with him. 😭 Late into the night with the grandchildren sleeping, our daughters and I were with Him when he took his last breath. Peace came over him and he was free of pain. He will always be to is , THE MAN, THE MYTH AND THE LEGEND. 6'4" burly bearded and mean looking, but He never raised his voice at me nor his hand, that right there is the definition of a real man 💙.
