I'm also Canadian. that quote and this discussion about the patience of the Palestinians reminds me a lot of our own indigenous people...they talk in terms of generations rather than years. I guess that's the difference between settlers and indigenous people, and why the ancient buildings were bombed because it wasn't part of their short history. And now Palestinians are talking about spending generations to rebuild them.

@@fgv1001 Owen Jones is a weather vane. When people like that turn against Israel, it's because they see which way the wind is blowing. He played a role in the smearing of Corbyn and the Labour Left. Now he's seen the light. Or at least where his advantage lies. His current stance is important because when you lose an Owen Jones, the end is in sight.
The MSM is reporting that Israeli forces are conducting operations in the north of Gaza without any serious analysis as to why. Strong Vietnam vibes.

The whole time the resistance lives so will the suffering. Israel lost this war when the videos of the hostages were released and Hamas was seen as treating the hostages with care. Global opinion shifted. It was a genius move by the resistance.

Need to hear the freedom fighters still fighting for freedom for Palestinian people. I noticed the Israelis sang: " to kill the Arabs", not just Palestinian people.

Regarding the finding of the three dead hostages. It is very sad that these people were killed and that they won't be able to go home to their families. I just wanted to note that Hagari made this announcement in English for a western audience. I wonder if they found them days or weeks ago and waited for a day of bad press, ICJ case, to pull them out of the fridge to distract the world. If this were true it would be atrocious .

This is already and currently a 1-state (but not a 1-state solution) for both jews and palestinians. It is an israeli apartheid state >> which everyone can see plainly.
The next 1-state (and a true 1-state solution) will be based on equal rights (and no exceptions) for both the israelis and the palestinians.

You missed the part where all Jews who care about politics enough to actively participate and work in politics have always pushed and promoted the fact that Israel is the only Jewish state on the planet. Therefore a one state solution which includes the Palestinians living side by side with equal rights and equal protection from law for all wouldn't be excepted by Israel. The only way a one-state solution would work is if Palestinians were integrated with equal representatives in the government. Or if Palestine just was given back to the Palestinians completely and Israel would be moved to either Germany or the United States of America the state of (Delaware).
The way things were before Balfour and the Rothschild family got involved.

Defeat in Vietnam was good for the US, defeat in Algeria was good for France and defeat in Gaza and Lebanon will be good for Israel. The only existential threat in all cases was to bullying power. If Israel stops thinking that security consists of making everyone afraid, it may become a normal society. Which it isn't now.
