    Thank you teaching us so clearly. I love it. This is also quite unique to see the Lord mentioned the deliverance of the people from being slaves in Egypt as part of the commandments.

    An excellent and beautiful rendition, fantastic. Some minor points though:
    At 2:25, I think that the shewa of the mem in ולשומרי should be נע that is, pronounced.
    At 3:02, the tav of ואמתך has a shewa, which was incorrectly pronounced as a segol
    At 3:34, I think that the shewa of the Yod in ויקדשהו should be silent

    • @TheWORDinHEBREW
      @TheWORDinHEBREW  6 місяців тому +1

      Shalom and thank you for watching and learning with me, but you are incorrect in regards to all the points you mentioned:
      The shva in ולשומרי is a silent shva נח because of the shuruk vowel before it.
      The shva in ואמתך is a vocal shva נע. In my teachings, I do not differentiate between the sound of a segol (eh) to the sound of a vocal shva (eh) or between the sound of long and short vowels, as the difference in the pronunciation is just to subtle to worry about, especially for new students.
      The shva of the Yod in ויקדשהו, is a vocal shva because of the prefix וַ va before it.

      @@TheWORDinHEBREW
      You misunderstood my first point: I wrote about the shewa of the mem, not the shewa of the lamed in the word ולשומרי
      Actually you DO distinguish nicely and correctly between a segol and a shewa-na. Listen to how you correctly read לא יהיה לך אלוהים in the second verse. Listen to your shewa in לך and the segol sound in אלוהים. They are obviously different as they should be. However in ואמתך you definitely read this as a segol on the tav, and you read that word emphasizing the penultimate syllable with the non-existent segol, instead of emphasizing the final consonant.
      All in all, you do read really nicely, which is why I listen to your readings and enjoy them. Sadly, the vast majority of instructional UA-cam videos about reading Hebrew are horrible: they are more like how NOT to read than how to read. But your readings are a treat. Keep it up.

    • @TheWORDinHEBREW
      @TheWORDinHEBREW  5 місяців тому

      Sorry for misunderstanding what you meant about וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי. In the case of the shva on the mem, you are correct! It should be a vocal shva. I will make the correction in my prints, but to correct it in the video, I will have to record a new video. Maybe some day. The reason I have it as a silent shva is because no one says that word with a vocal mem, so in reality, even though the rules say it’s a vocal shva, most people and most Bible readers say it as silent. In any case, thank you for pointing it out 😉

    Where it says יהוה why don't you say the name correctly instead of saying adonay.? You are not misussing the name, rather you are teaching the kadosh language.
