Sea monkeys seemed like pure magic to me as a little kid buying them with my pocket money haha. I thought they were actual little merpeople that I had created lol. I used to spend all day watching them with my magnifying glass, I used to actually think they looked like how they do on the box. I’ve always wished I could get that same feeling of magic back like how I felt as a kid, and this video definitely made me feel like that again!

As someone of advancing years, I'd say that sometimes when you least expect it something will happen that does recreate the magic of childhood. It doesn't work to order and trying to make it leads to disappointment.
But when the moments do happen the years fall away

When I was younger, I saw a seamonkey set at the pet store while we got bird food for my dad's parrot. The bright orange tank caught my attention and I liked the sunken ship. My mom told me what I was looking at and I asked if we could get it. She didn't give a kind explanation, my expectations were not high, I just thought it looked cool. After assuring my mom, yes I knew they wouldn't do anything, she let me have them.
I followed the instructions and had some of that "new toy" feeling. It made me happy. I thought it was neat when they hatched, but this is where my seamonkey story becomes unique.
I guess it was because I left the tank on the window sill, but they all died on day 3. All except Snow. Since there was only one now, I could name her. I called her Snow because she was white. I moved the tank away from the window and had Snow for almost a week.
Then, how I know Snow was a girl was that one day after about a week, I woke up to find five new baby seamonkeys in there with Snow. She must've laid eggs I guess. The babies got big and I couldn't tell which one was Snow anymore but I did like them. After a day or two I think Snow died because I counted 5 instead of 6 one morning. I was a bit sad, but hey, I knew she was a seamonkey. Her kids lasted another week before they started dying off. The whole thing lasted less than a month, but it's stayed with me.

They die pretty quickly after they have babies. Although my tank lasted a whole summer. I don’t think you killed them by leaving it in the window sill, unless the tank got way too hot.

Omg I had them too, many years ago. I was 9,maybe 10, and I think my parents got it for me as a Christmas gift. I've always been a huge fan of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, so these little guys were really fascinating for me. When I proudly told the other kids at school about it, they thought it was boring to watch these little ones swim around all day. But not for me. Maybe it was not only my fascination, but also the fact that I didn't have any real friends for many many years. Some of the kids were nice, but no one actually wanted to be a close friend of mine, most of them bullied me and made fun of me for various reasons, in fact. But these little guys, they distracted me from this fact. They were always there for me, in my room on the lower shelf, and every time I felt sad, I just had to look at them or feed them a little and I immediately felt better. So this video brought all the childhood feelings and memories of my little prehistoric pets back ❤️

But, the setting, camera shots and even music selection made this moment feel really superb. I saw a comment saying that it felt like a Pixar short, it does. It gave a nostalgia that I never had. That's pretty damn impressive, my friend. Keep up the good work.

Mine lasted about 5 months but people have said theirs have lived for 1-2 years. I'm not sure what I did wrong with mine but I did lots of research and followed all the advice, I guess I was unlucky.
Also they didn't just die all at once, the population got smaller and smaller over a few months. In one of my newer videos you can see I was left with only 2 for a while before they died together one night. One male and one female
