Nikki is so invested in Jimmy making the right choices in life that she almost can't enjoy the comedy in the Slippin Jimmy moments. Steven laughing next to Nikki cringing is the perfect Yin and Yang.
Nikki is Chuck and Steven is Jimmy
I notice that too.
Kinda sad you cut out the line where Kaylee asks why Mike doesn't need to wear protection when using the drill, and he says "Because Pop-Pop's a grown-up, and grown-ups get to be stupid." XD One of my favorite lines of this show.
22:08 It's funny. In Breaking Bad when Hank found the offshore account for Mikes grand-daughter, Hank jokingly said that Kaylee was the muscle behind Fring's operation. Meanwhile here we are, watching her unknowingly building spike strips with pop-pop lol
So many layers to every character its amazing
It’s sad how hyped I get on a Monday for these reactions 😂😂
FAACTS 😂😂😂😂
this and the normies breaking bad reactions on Tuesday
Facts on Facts on Facts
@@Hivernal
Me too. to both.
I also enjoy the 2 sisters, who just finished. And, in spite of my self ..Blindwave.. (the smart *one* saves it for them.)
Coolbreeze Productions I personally really liked blindwave when it was just Eric and Calvin reacting to GOT, Also I watched BB reaction for the last 3 episodes of the two sisters and I might watch them from start
Jimmys reaction to the wheelchair guy when he says "Cheese!" is hilarious. No idea why I laughed so hard at that part.
Excellent episode. So much going on in this one! I feel like Steven got a great read on Chuck and Howard's motivation when it comes to Mesa Verde. For Chuck, it's definitely personal. When he heard they lost Mesa Verde to Kim, he was just a little bit surprised, but as soon as he heard she's teaming up with Jimmy, he immediately jumped to action.
For Howard though, I agree it's more of a business thing. I do believe he was genuine in his talk with Kim in the office. He was very serious with Kim when he thought she was leaving for their competitor. But I feel like he was really impressed with Kim when she told him she was going solo. I think the fact he went for the client right after Kim left does not contradict what he told Kim earlier - especially since he forgave her debt anyway. At the end, business is business. I like that we're seeing more and more layers of this guy. In a lesser show, he would be just a dickhead trying to fuck everyone over. But here he's just as complex as the rest. I think he's a decent guy inside, he's just most concerned with his business.
Also, how cool was that opening single-shot scene. I was blown away the first time I saw it.
I love how Steve is so good at reading people and having a good grasp on everyone's characters. I'm so glad they're reacting to this
@@StrungOutFlip Yes, they're such intelligent reactors, I love watching them! There are some reactors out there who have problems reading characters' intentions even when they're literally spelled out on screen, not to mention BCS which very rarely spells out everything and you really have to pay attention and think about what you're watching. That's why I love this channel.
It wasn't until I'd re-rewatched the episode that I realized how skillfully Howard maneuvers Chuck here by allowing Chuck to believe Kim and Jimmy will be partners. Howard had that conversation with Kim about her solo-practice, but he doesn't correct Chuck. He knows Chuck will go all-in if he thinks he's fighting against Jimmy.
No, he made her quit, treated her like shit, giving her all that paper work to do in only in a few hours, abusive asshole
something about how mike enjoys old tv shows always gets at my heartstrings. for some reason it humanizes him so much for me
The movie he's watching is really great if you want to check out. It's called "His Girl Friday", a really funny romantic comedy from 1940 that was one of the main influences for Pulp Fiction.
Its been a year since season 4 aired. Its nice to have these vids to help pass the time. Great video fam
tru dat
I need S4 to be on Netflix ughh
@@stevengold its so weird to me people in the US don't have S4 on Netflix, im from South America and I have it on Netflix, it actually aired at the same that it did on Tv
Also in that ending scene with Mike watching the TV. The TV is mirroring Mike and Walt's final scene in BrBa where they argue before Mike gets in the car and gets shot. 'You just had to blow it up, your pride, your ego' speech. The character in the TV is also named Walter
BCS is one of the greatest shows 🚚📝
Technically it wasn't a one shoot because there are two cuts in that scene. But yeah, it looks like a one shot and is pretty awesome.
The song that plays during Jimmy's cut-and-paste montage in this episode is by Little Barrie, the same band that was commissioned to do the show's main title theme!
I have to say, this opening is one if my favorite openings of any show. It doesn't even have any proper dialogue but the cinematography, music, direction and all are just so enjoyable I can't help but to love it.
PS. It was one-shot for the most part, and also another cool piece of trivia is that half of the scenery (especially outdoors) was actually CGI. This show is dope
Just wanted to say your commentary about the risks of going out on your own, and that you'll never know if you don't try, really hits close for me! Especially as I make a big transition in my career and my city, I'm going through these thoughts multiple times a day!
*A super happy moment being played out on screen where we're supposed to be happy*
Nikki - I'm terrified
I'm glad you called out the one-shot opening. The amount of moving pieces to that sequence is truly mind-blowing. And BCS is so good that it will have moments like that and sometimes fans don't even notice.
Also that Howard scene one of my favorite moments from him. You get hints of this melancholic regret seeping through, but never long enough before his good boy robot persona catches him slipping and over-rides it. You can tell from that dialogue and acting that somewhere in his past his Dad probably stopped him from being himself and so he lives as a persona. It's unclear who the real Howard is, or if we ever truly see it.
But in a show about Saul Goodman, it's fitting we have a character like Howard who is also so defined by a persona he shows the world.
mike is like: no one threat my son's daughter 😈
Yeah, he just ain't letten it go.
Very peaceful to see this notification after a long day from uni...
You know it's a good show when you're entertained by watching one guy make some copies of paper and another guy messing with a garden hose. Absolutely love these characters man.
🚛🦷📝
The cold open was one continuous shot from start to finish.....simply an amazing directed sequence.......something that some people overlook.
"You could, like, whip somebody with it"
I'm dying 😂😂
- In case it wasn't clear, I believe that was the boarder crossing.
- Vince and Peter talked in interviews about that long one shot. I think they said like the first 2mins(or so), was one long uncut shot. It's been a long time so I can't really remember the details on this, so I could use some help from the community. If anyone out there knows more about this, please feel free to correct me.
- I think the more we get to know Howard, we are learning he's really not that bad a guy (imo). The show did a really good job of making us think he was the vilan, in the beginning. But of course we then learn Chuck was behind it all. I think it's hard to shake those first impressions.
- Steven, if I'm not mistaken, I think the titles of each episode this season, are important, (you know how these writers think).
- At this point, you guys are seeing what all of us were saying. When we said, "it's a slow burn, but very well done".
- I love how the writers use the questions we all have about, where's Kim in BB, to enhance the Jimmy storyline side of the show.
- And yes I think BCS is awesome for showing us how Mike gets it all done. We are really getting to see the work he puts in to it all (love it).
- I know some people would rather just see Mike all the time, (and I get it). But, I sometimes think some of you are missing out on the beautifully crafted origin story of Saul Goodman. Please forgive me if that sounds pretentious, but I really love the details of Kim, Chuck, and Howard's characters. And, the roles they play in creating Saul.
- I'm really glad y'all decided to react to this masterpiece.
- No, this show may not be quite as good(exciting) as Breaking Bad. But, BCS, is about as close as you can get. It's better in some areas. And, equally suspenseful... It's definitely underrated (imo).
✌️😎 Peace
Breezy
Here ya go Nikki, just for you...
🚛🤒📝⚠️📏⚡
Sorry, I couldn't find you a tooth, or even a garden hose . But, I did find you a ruler for Katie's "fractions".
(btw.. for the record, I look forward to seeing which emojis Nikki chooses. I think it's a charming segment of your presentation. So, please keep doing it. I'm sorry if I can't always participate.)
I believe that the opening was two shots put together. On top of that there's a lot of digital work as well, some buildings taken out of the background and most of those vehicles in line weren't actually there. I don't know if the video for the digital effects is on youtube or just on the season 2 dvd, but there's a surprising amount of work that went into it.
@@dog-eared6991
Thanks a lot. Yeah that's the kind of details I remember hearing about. "The whole thing is a 2-shot. But the first shot is a long one. As far as planning all that, makes my head hurt (LOL).
But, I really appreciate you giving me that info.😎👍
You're, the weak and I'm the tyranny; if evil men. But I'm trying Ringo, I'm trying real; hard, to be the shepherd.

Pulp Fiction, classic 💯
@@trarags YOOOOOOOOOOOO ITS YOU :0
Hey Nikki, hey Steven... Just wanted you guys to know...For the past weeks i've followed your whole Breaking Bad reactions, and now i've finally caught up with you on Better Call Saul...These are my 2 favourite shows ever and you guys are my favourite reactors
"It's not personal, it's business"
reminds me of the scene where Todd kills Andrea
I never gave this episode the credit it deserves. Rewatching this reaction made me appreciate how well done this was done 🚛🦷📝
Rhea Seehorn's acting is off the fucking charts in this show, especially in this episode.
She' a genius! I can't believe she hasn't been nominated for an Emmy.
I think the only thing Chuck doubts about Jimmy is his ability to stick to what's legal when he wants something.
An Amazing cold open in ONE SHOT and great music! I love that song. (Border Crossing by Dave Porter)
And the scene where Kim tenders her resignation to Howard is one of my favorites in the series. We got a glimpse into his background, he's going to pay for her entire schooling, and they left on amicable terms.
- Imagine being on the receiving end of one of Mike's stakeouts.
- Chuck's passive-aggressive pitch for Kim to handle the bank's application.
- Jimmy sabotaging his brother's banking application because Chuck sabotaged Kim's efforts to get Mesa Verde. Their tit-for-tat goes way beyond normal sibling rivalry.
Great hi-liting I wanna say sometimes I think people don't give enough credit to the Chuck verses Jimmy storyline. It's interesting to see the similarities in how they operate. (2 different sides of the same coin).
✌️😎
This episode is great - I love the opening scene/shot and the score that goes with it, I always play that song around the house now
1:04 Joffreys reaction when his mom slaps in in season 2. Idk why my brain thought of that
You will see more of mike. No worries
We’ve been conditioned because of Breaking Bad that even happy moments are terrifying because anything could happen next.
The two of you are just so adorable watching the show. I Just love BCS-- but watching your reactions is just as entertaining.
One the best if not all time greatest one-shot openings ....
I'm just curious could you point out the spot where they finally made the cut (if it isn't too big of a hassle)?
@@coolbreez1214 If you mean.. the start of the camera until then the end of that camera shot.... then it's 0:00 to 4:21 (< episode).... so for over four minutes that is just one camera continuous shot.

Yeah I saw it when it first aired. In fact I was in film school at the time, so I was extra interested back then. But I have a lousy memory some times (too much clutter in the attic). Thanks for the helpful information, though. This crew has really had some epic moments. They really understand how to use this visual art form.

Awesome thanks a lot man, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I hope you have a great week.

"hard evidence... cause it's frozen" lmao
🚚🦷📝[hose + nails] I always loved the grandpa + granddaughter interactions when you know full well that Mike's intentions =/= the innocent explanations he gives to Kaylee.
Believe me, you're gonna laugh hard at the scene where Mike uses this... One of my favorite scenes of Better Call Saul
You guys should react to peaky blinders after this show! Or whenever it's amazing & definitely your cup of tea
10:44- when Steve said about Mike "Is he the most patient guy on the planet?" Mike has special training from years of police work. It is a mind set!
There a new Breaking Bad movie trailer that came out last night too. ;)
"Whip somebody with it!"
- "Savage" Nikki 2019
Can't believe no one gave a shoutout to how great Rhea Seehorn was in this episode. I know she's always great, but the way she played the joy Kim thinking she won Mesa Verta....You could feel her happiness bubbling up and down her body. The absolute high of a win and being in the zone. Great acting.
That OPENING SHOT though... :o
Walter and Jesse spend a weekend cooking meth, Saul spends a weekend cooking the books
I love you guys, You're making me watch the show all over again;)
"Not that I would know.." Nikki be careful this is YT 🤣😭😭
As always enjoyed watching you two and enjoyed your breakdown. Just wanted to mention on the previous episode of the Young Jimmy cold open - What I found interesting. The man doing to con really talks to Jimmy more as a grown up. He recognizes Jimmy is not like his dad. In fact recognizes the "wolf" in Jimmy. It made me think of when Chuck told Kim "Jimmy grew up in that store" And it really shows that was also his Slipping Jimmy con education. And how at odds he is with his feeling for his Dad. He was genuinely angry that he life is the way it is. Anyway I enjoyed all the emoji's - Fifi picture taking with the war hero who Jimmy helped out of public masturbation charge "total bullshit" Thanks.
I wonder if when Mike's granddaughter grows up she'll be horrified about knowing she helped him in his criminal projects
@Drake Lang I guess she's going to find out his grandfather was a criminal eventually and suddenly a lot of things are going to start making sense
as someone who's been out on my own my whole life, you have to know you are constantly walking that line be self employed and unemployed
FYI: The American Bar Association just happened to post an article today entitled: "I’m Ready to Start My Own Law Practice-What Are the Pitfalls?"
Chuck is very confident in Jimmy's ability to be duplicitous. And it was absolutely personal for Chuck. He sees Jimmy like the Devil who's tempting Kim into ruin.
Is it just me or is the sitcom playing on the television at the end of the episode resembling Walter and skyler arguing when he says he is the danger
Always Enjoyed The Doctoring Scene With The Music
Such a great series. :)
They do have Jimmy’s bonus to get them started.
You need to re-watch the opening to really appreciate that one-shot...
It's so cool-looking and makes Hector's drug smugling operation seem so big and well organized
@@Carlos-ln8fd so true, and imagine the planning that went into that shot.. i mean the timing of everything had to be perfect....even the music picks up just when it starts to follow behind the cop car is perfect...
I think Chuck's line of "if the situation was reversed, I'd help you" is genuine despite the Cold War tension that exists between him and Jimmy. Nothing on this show is black or white. It's always open to interpretation. Every character is three-dimensional like how Steven pointed out in regards to Howard talking about how envious he feels of Kim considering he decided to join HHM for his dad rather than try the solo practioner route. God I love this show. 🚛📝
Shepards usually get attacked by wolves protecting sheep
Thanks for this! Can’t wait for the next few episodes 😬😁🚛 🦷 📝
The name of Hector's ice cream truck driver is Ximenez Lecerda.
Sorry, I know I’m being nitpicky, but the beginning sequence at the port of entry for Hector’s helados truck kills me. The scene was excellently executed. Love a good long shot. But, Border Patrol hardly ever works ports of entry; that would be mostly customs agents in blue. We border patrol work everything in between ports of entry and checkpoints north. Sometimes in a blue moon we augment customs at ports and airports, but not on a a regular basis and not to that extent in the scene; no blue shirts to be seen. And this is just in my little stretch on the AZ border. Now you know how it really is. Sorry, just had to point that out.
Very interested in seeing why Kim and Nacho never appear in Breaking Bad.
It just gets better
Chuck is the most amazing villain ever because he follows the law and righteousness and correct behavior just to fuck people over; technically, he does nothing wrong, but he is the antagonist here, make no mistake
Someone pointed out on reddit a few days ago that the scene on the tv where the man and woman are arguing at the end of this episode is very similar to a scene in Breaking Bad, right before Walt shot Mike, Mike was telling Walt that it was all his fault for how things went down.
I think what Nikki should have said is 'you dont have to be an asshole, or a doormat...you "could" be an assmat. :)
Hamlin sounds like James bond villian
Almost like Chuck pulled a reverse slippin Jimmy on Mesa verde
Yeah the similarities in the way they operate, is very interesting.
Did you guys catch the second trailer fir El Camino during the Emmy’s
The beginning of the end of the McGill brothers.
FYI... there is a new trailer for the Breaking Bad movie.
Again Nikki saying I don't think he would kill though in reference to Mike...at this point in the show we know that he's killed two cops and admitted to being a dirty cop. Like we know he will kill if he judges it the best thing to do. He's done it before.
Nikki & Steven - the Bonnie & Clyde of UA-cam.
18:54 He is pissed because they threatened his grand-daughter and forced him to say the gun was his.
🚛🦷📝 Another great episode and reaction! I really love Mike’s backstory. I almost wish this series focused on Mike as the main character and Jimmy as the secondary character.
I feel like Mike wouldn't really work as a main character as well as Jimmy. That's because he doesn't really have a lot going on aside from his work. He's a loner and he doesn't talk much. Not really a great material for main character. Makes for a perfect secondary character though.
@Kordass You could very well be right. If any group of writers could do it though, Vince Gilligan and his team would be the one.
@Drake Lang I agree. I have watched all 4 seasons of BCS and Jimmy is a great character. I just really like the “Mike” episodes.
🚛🦷📝
I think Howard was relieved that she didn’t go with the rival firm
Totally forgot about Fudge Talman as well 😂😂
In one of your updates, I remember you mentioning that you might possibly go to a couple BCS episodes at some point. Has that gone by the wayside, at least for the foreseeable future? Or is that still on the table at some point soon?

🚛🦷📝hose Mike is the most meticulous planner of all time ...
I even said back in season 2 wish it was a Mike show .. but so happy its BCS
🚛 🦷 📝 🐍 That opening sequence was just epic. The first time I saw it, I was blown away! The timing on that is just unbelievable. I don't know if it was one continuous shot (probably not) but if it is then I am even more impressed with this show (like that was even possible :D). This sequence ranks right up there with some other ones like the hallway and prison fight sequences from Daredevil.
I remember (barely), when this originally aired, Vince or Peter talking about that shot. I think they said like the first 2 mins or so, was one shot. That was the boarder crossing by the way, in case that wasn't clear.
Do ya think Mike just likes classic movies, or is he such an old fogey that he still has a black & white TV?
Colorful Jimmy
22:09 what on earth does nikki say??
LOL, i have replayed it like five times.. and still can't tell... lol
I think I said something about that not being for the rhododendrons - Nikki
@@NikkiStevenReact oh ok 😂
Who was Mike’s teacher?
Being that there are only 10 episodes per season, I am still calling for the episode count at the beginning of the reaction video to be Steven's 5 fingers PLUS Nikki's additional fingers to bring us to the correct episode. When BrBa had 13 episodes per season, we still only got Nikki's fingers for episodes 11, 12 & 13... not fair. In 10 episode seasons though, we currently get no Nikki fingers, and that's just wrong. And let's face it, Steven almost messed up this episode anyway, nearly putting up 5 & 4, when 5 & 3 was the way to go.🖐👌
Ok
You should react to narcos. 😎
What are you guys gonna do about season 4 since it’s not on Netflix yet? I had to rent it from the video store.
I was watching it as it came out on Netflix. They did that annoying thing where they didn't create the thing, but still whacked a "Netflix original" banner at the start
bluray!?
Ayyyyy!
