Non Koreans don’t get this but when RM says “ oh shit turn the beat backwards Your sewer and I’m savoury” those two words are the same but reverse in Korean - ha-su-gu is sewer and gu-su-ha is savoury so he literally turned the words backwards and Ha su gu in Korean also means puppet or unskilled person so he’s basically saying your unskilled person/sewer while I’m the opposite -savoury my rap is pleasant to the palate / RM has a lot of times used such things in his rap but unfortunately it gets lost in English translations
Context... SUGA had not released anything yet under the name Agust D, so this was literally the first time ARMY heard that name... foreshadowing. :) Also... when they perform this live, the chorus says "Fuck You, I don't care". Supreme Boi was almost a member of BTS. There were multiple people in consideration before the final 7 were settled on, but Supreme Boi actually bowed out and decided to stay on at Big Hit as a producer. He is credited on over 100 of BTS' tracks and he's worked with some of the members on their mix-tapes as well.
Surpeme Boi (Shin Dong-hyuk ) used to be an underground rapper, and was in a crew with Kidoh, Iron, RM and others called Daenamhyup . He was originally a Big Hit Entertainment trainee, with RM, Suga and J Hope, in the original lineup for BTS, but left due to BigHit changing BTS’ direction from being a hip-hop group to a K-Pop idol group and became a producer for BigHit instead. He has been a producer under BigHit for over 7 years. BTS is known for co-writing and producing most of their output, but they always work with the inhouse team : Supreme Boi, Pdogg, Slow Rabbit, Hiss noise, and often the CEO himself, Bang Shi Hyuk, aka Hitman Bang. And sometines with outsider producers or songwriters. You can hear Supreme Boi also on the intro of the Cypher Pt 2. And he was on stage with the rap line in the Cypher Medley Live Seoul 2017 that you should watch because it's a blast ! Also, you don't need to try to pick up a favorite, we know that it's quite impossible Lol ! RM is a poet, he raps with his sharp intellect, used smart wordplay, he is rythm and poetry with this big commanding voice that demands respect. Musically he’s most adventurous these days bending genre and sounds. J-hope is a dancer, he is beat and cadence, and brings a very upbeat energy to his rap with an almost rhythmic singing tone. Musically, it's like "retro old school meeting new age" as I read in some coments. Suga is a producer, classical and introspective. He ’s flow and cadence are very poetic. There’s a rawness of emotion in his voice that even if you don’t understand what he’s saying, you can feel it. Each is a king. in his own way. I like to think RM represents the brain, J-hope the heart and Suga the soul of a song. In TLDR version for a lot of people : Suga will tell you you are sh*t, RM will explain why you are sh*t, j-hope will tell you it’s okay to be sh*t ;)
Supreme Boi is still with HYBE/Big Hit. I have noticed him in the credits of Le Sserafim's "Unforgiven" (title track) - the MV comes with a credit track at the end - so he has done probably a bit more. My guess is you didn't see him for a while because he did his military service.
Oh you definitely need to look up the live preformance from Busan for this one. And if you want to see RM do a full English track, check out Change with Wale, or his feature on Champion by Fallout Boy
Really want them to see the Cyphers live, plus the Busan "Ugh/Cypher Pt. 3" performance, and DDAENG (the video with the production/prep for the prom party performance, a live performance, and the DKDKTV explanation video).
I believe the part about those rapping in English is directed toward certain Korean American rappers who were part of the South Korean music scene and basically looked down on BTS rappers as if they were better rappers and students of hip hop bc they rapped in English. This is why there was that line about going back to Hawaii in the other Cypher. Hip Hop Lover (Hip Hop Phile) to get a sense of what hip hop means to them. The subtitles give you the gist but unfortunately aren’t always accurate and sometimes it’s difficult to translate the nuances or wordplay in Korean. But I’m happy to see you guys are enjoying the BTS rappers.
When you see a live you’ll see jhope’s rap in a different light. It’s very clear that his rap has to be seen performed! This is because jhope began as a dancer and he cannot separate that from his rap. After you check out cypher 4, you need to watch the cypher meddly live.
Just a bit of context, when j-hope said "all you bastards who try to rap in English" I'm pretty sure he was talking about other Korean rappers who try to rap in broken English thinking it makes them 'cooler' but are actually just covering for their low skill level. All their diss tracks are aimed at the Korean hip hop scene. Having said that, if there are some American rappers who feel stung by that... well, maybe they need to up their game! Yoongi once said "I never talk about anyone in particular. If someone feels targeted by something I write that's their own problem."
Watch this it's great for them too, 'Ddaeng' and 'ugh' and a solo song by Suga is 'Agust-D' It's a really fire song and if you want to enjoy J-Hope as well this is his solo song that's really special to me, which is ' MORE '
Definitivamente un trio explosivo, me encanta la parte de JHOPE y en vivo genial, siempre JHOPE es mejor en vivo los lyrics no le hacen justicia, definitivamente. Saludos desde MÉXICO
i was just watching cypher pt3 in their busan concert and they said it will be their last time performing it live and the energy is insane, you guys can check it out if you want to see their live presence! there are so hd videoes on yt with subtitles
Supreme Boi was part of the BTS crew when they were planning a pure hip hop crew but became a music producer at HYBE instead when the vocal team was added during trainee days. Ugh would one a good song for you to check out that he helped with. In the unit song “UGH!”, the rappers criticize a society in which people who hide behind masks of anonymity to cast their anger against others. From the genre of Memphis style trap, the track lends voice to an impressive, blunt rap; building on a beat of fast trap rhythms reflective of exploding emotions. RM, SUGA, and j-hope pour out their ‘anger against anger full of malice’ The lyrics. That. Speak of their conviction to stand up against a world dominated by rage give a glimpse into the pain BTS may have felt as witnesses or as victims of such anger.
Start with the BTS guide, it is the best to have knowledge of their history of improvement, perseverance and talent, they are incredible, they are very dedicated to what they do, simple they started from 0 and today they are what they are thanks to their continuous work, happy that they continue to be part of the career path of this incredible group, blessings guys
Namjoonie got commanding in your face kinda rap Yoongi got the speed and emotion Hobi got the flow and swag Or RM ride the beat Suga attacks the beat JHope is the beat Or RM explain why you are shit Suga tell you you’re shit JHope tell you it’s ok to be shit
You all cannot compare & judge these 3 rappers because they totally have a different flow & style of rap ..for sure these 3 are fire rappers in Korea... You need to see their live performance... So insane & fire..
Thanks for the reaction guys💜✨All 3 rappers of BTS r incredible..don't sleep on any one of them..and don't underestimate Jhope..he is in his own level..u need to check out more of rap line and their solo stuff..I can recommend u some.. Rapline: Ddaeng, UGH , Tear The lyrics translation videos u watch these r just average translation those r not proper lyrics for what they r rapping in korean..and for above mention songs u need to check out their explanation video from DKDDTV or otherwise u will never understand bcz there r so much cultural references.. And for solo songs Jhope: Arson , More, Hangsang, 1 verse , Baseline, Airplane, Daydream, Equal sign, Stop RM: Monster, Do You, Seoul, Moonchild, Wildflower, Still life, Lonely, Persona Suga/AgustD: Agust D, Heaguem, Amygdala, What do you think, Moonlight, Snooze, First Love, The last, Shadow, People I hope u guys will give these songs a shot❤
These cyphers have layers that are hard to understand without explanation and context. RM’s are especially hard to understand due to the wordplay. By the way, since I see you guys commenting on Korean language in context of rap, I just want to point out that it’s very hard to rhyme words in Korean. Even most Korean poems don’t focus on rhyming since the language structure is such that it’s very hard to do it due to the pronunciation and number of syllables. I remember one Korean-American professor talking about how impressive it is for the BTS rap line to do it in the way they do - they always surpass expectations. As easy as it seams when they do it, it’s really not easy at all. They’re just that good. The members of the rap line also like to use a lot of Korean idioms and cultural things in their songs so that only makes it harder for us to understand. For example, a lot of people think that RM’s song “Joke” is full of meaningless wordplay while in Korean hiphop scene they call it as one of the best verses of all time. Every line is a wordplay, even the blabbering is intentional. But of course we can’t all understand it. But since you guys are so knowledgeable and, honestly, talented, from what I can see, I’m glad that you’re appreciating their flow and their cadence. It’s always a delight to see people who actually understand the game react to BTS. I really love your reactions! Looking forward to more💜 (I recommend reacting to the live performances as well! BTS sound even better live)
love your videos! for better understanding of bts’ lyrics i suggest reacting to dkdktv’s “explained by a korean” videos. especially for ddaeng, ugh, spine breaker and baepsae. much love❤️
You should see the live performance, Yet to come in Busan concert. That's fvcking dope. They even improvise their lines and it's aggressively fire as hell.
Definitivamente les recomiendo mucho el cypher medley de ellos en vivo es genial, de j-hope deberían escuchar Arson o More, y definitivamente outro:tear en vivo!!!
good reaction fr but yall should react to we on, hiphop phile, attack on bangtan, if i ruled the world, jump live version , spine breaker, miss right, 24/7=heaven, danger, hold me tight, converse high, dope, war of harmone, ma city live version is BADASS BRO this is all by BTS mann thanks for checking out cypher pt 3 but my favorite has to be cypher pt 4 out of all of them !!!
Another great reaction from you guys! Your analysis is almost spot on. Yes as a group in BTS, RM and Jimin have the most special and unique tones in their voices. Watch the rappers do this cypher almost 9 years later Live at the Busan 2022 Concert, it was 🔥🔥.
Cypher 3 live is awesome .. I swear to god it’s awesome .. they all fire yes , I understand that American’s have a habit of comparing but we don’t . They all somehow are just very good. Plz watch the live performance of their rap, it’s worth it. U will understand how they write some music for live shows cause it sounds better . Suga always says when he writes he envisions how it will be performed live so many of their music u have to watch the live performances ..
Also, you guys quickly became one of my favorite reactors and I just have to subscribe💜 P.S. I reccomend making a playlist of all your BTS reactions on your channel for easier navigation, ARMY will appreciate it!
Ddaeng, Ugh, outro:tear by rapline.. It's a must. And live performances of Cypher 1-4.. These tracks are FIRE. U will definitely like these tracks.. It would be better if you guys reacts to "A guide to BTS" by "Taylor Mari" it's long but worth watching. You will learn more about these guys..
All the mentioned songs are great. But imo, the live performance of outro tear is the best. Hope to see you guys react to it someday. Keep up the good work boys!
💜🇧🇷💜love the different energy each member brings. I think you guys will like Rap Monster feat. Wale (Change) and JHope More. 💜💜thanks. The Rap Line is even better live!!!!
Please check out Live versions after you watch lyric videos on the cyphers and definitely do in same video for part 4. Also Ugh and Ddaeng live versions and explanations videos for cultural references.
Supreme boi is a korean producer with hybe (same company). He was un training to join bts but decided to be in the back instead (writer, producer and so on)
Podrían reaccionar a "UGH, Ddeang, Outro:Taer, Bon Singuer." Jhope: Arson. Suga: Agustd, The Last, Shadow. RM: Persona, Joker, Do you. O alguna presentación en vivo plissssssss 💜 Gracias por reaccionar 👍🏼💜
Rapline is always on fire even more so on live performance, and watch out for JHope he is meant to be seen live on stage ( check out his Lollapalooza where he made history) 😊 react ro Busan live performance of Ugh and Cypher Pt 3, they will retire this song in that concert. You checked out Hobi’s ( Jhope) chicken noodle soup and on the street, see his More and Arson it has a really different vibe, most army were shocked 😂. RM and Suga are always 🔥🔥
love your channel! please, in the future when you react to bts’ songs try to also include some live performances! bts sound better live. also, dkdktv has explanation videos for some of their lyrically more complex songs that need more cultural context to be understood, such as baepsae, ddaeng, ugh, spine breaker, idol, etc. make sure to react to those as well💜
I would love for you to check out their live performance of "Hip Hop Lovers" (ua-cam.com/video/a_3KCRAYAFQ/v-deo.html), where they pay homage to hip hop and the legendary rappers that inspire them, and the mix stage performance of "Born singer", which is a tribute to J Cole´s "Born Sinner". (ua-cam.com/video/Z5WLRWMYzEU/v-deo.html) Then you will get both the awesome rapline and the vocalline. "Born Singer" was actually released in 2013, the mix stage is from performances in 2015 and 2017.
I love Cypher, wow, I've got another dimension, the line of BTS rap is great, and I don't think it's loud enough to import my opinions, like I said❤❤❤❤
Supreme boy is "8th BTS memeber" There isa picture often claimed to be "first picture of BTS" and if you look closely there is not 7 there is 8 and he's in that picture. He seriously was part of the "you are going to be a rap crew"-line up but when it changed to "no, not rap crew but idols" he said i'm noi doing that ish. I'm not sure how longhe stayed even trainee after that, but he switched into Big Hit in house producer team that to my knowledge has actually also other people who were traineed with BTS and in the possible lineup for the to-be rapcrew with RM, Suga and J-hope.. there is rumors that also other BTS members were strongly dreaming being in that rap crew with rap line.. Kinda like there is this rumor/wishful thinking of us getting one more Cypher - "Cypher V" with a new quest feature of this very enthusiastic rapper that we sometimed have been showing iff his skills covering BTS rapline songs - sometimes even watchful eye of the rapline... ;D (I'm trying not to cackle the neighbors awake..) If you would look up the explanations for cyphers by DKDKTV you would get their wordplay is and triple and quadruple entendres better.. ALSO we do not support colorcoded lyric videos because they often have translatin mistakes as they are done too quickly to 'get their video out there first to get the most views' - And they do no make the requested translation corrections. AND most of them actually do everything they can to keep their videos from monetized. Here J-hope is making a pointed hit toward certain guy from Hawaii - that we heard last cypher needling also.. J-hope was not at the table being attacked when RM and Suga were, but he might have been present.. But the insults toward BTS rapline is a insults to him, was he at the table insulted or not.. Hobi is making extremely multileveled barb : "I'm too buse for them to compare me and talk smack aboutme. But I'm getting a bite, All - " and here we are with difference of opinion of the translation :D you can see the korean version saying "Eonnis call me ppippi" -> where English translation has given Pippi a capital letter referencing a name - which I agree - But it kinda hides two of the multilayered meanings that way ! .. There was .. incudent.. where certain rapper publicly called RM and Suga (I'm keeping it overly simplified explanation!) "girls for wearing makeup and how that was not proper for rap.." (And Because the Korean Culture they could not argue anything against it - yeah nasty. But that's how it is - you don't know the half how Bad things can get with that. :=( ) Back to J-hope's lyrics ? Eonni is an older sister (here it also could be older female rapper - who are incredibly GOOD rappers in South Korea!) but If older girls - again : being older is status in Korea older girls are calling Hobi Pippi - Pippi happens to be "world's strongest girl" Swedish children's book character.. So he's practiclly saying.. "those Korean female rappers - that unarguably are incredibly good - are calling me strongest of them - after you shitty old geezer-rappers are claiming BTS rapline are girls.." then there is the other levels, it being "BEEP-BEEP" sensored nasty word - OR reference (again thinking the age of those older male rappers looking down on BTS - than BTS rapline - he is using older technology reference to rib at their dinosaurian age) he might be referencing that even as a then guite a young man even the older girls blow Hobi's beeper.. ..Giving him their phonumbers in droves.. AND this being BTS rapline probably all of these explanations are true at the same time - they really know how to throw these out there. because this is what BTS cyphers are about, double to quadruple wordplays. * All of them sound in this cypher like they have part where they talk like to a child.. Or like a person who'se understanding of the language is not really of the adult level - thing that we have heard from person who is proficient in his naive language and proficient in Korean rap knowledge - that certain rapper's rap game is not vocabularily at the proficient adult Korean speaker level.. õ.Ö Apparently Hobi is referencing Pippi internationally known childrens tv-show & children's book character, and Suga is referensing traditional myths that are often also told children as a part of culture, And RM also made a reference .. I can't now bother to find it because i'm getting a headache. Like they are talking to a child.. ;D
UP! So many miss this. 😊
Boost!
yeah it’s really such a shame that so much gets lost in translation :/
Jesus Christ OMFG HES SO 😭😭
SOOO dope wth😭 That goes crazy! Lol, guess I need to learn Korean now
You should definitely react to "ugh" "Ddaeng" And Jhope's "More" ,"Arson" And.. Suga's "Agust-D"...!!!
Yes, please
The live version of Ugh from Busan concert is awesome!
yessss
don't forget the explanation vids by dkdktv
Hip hop lover too😎
Don't misunderstand the "rappers who try to rap in English" part. JHope is talking about Korean rappers not the US ones. 😁

Love your rapline analysis, Army Love! 🙋🏽♀️🤗😍💜✌🏽🙏🏽🇺🇸
Oh such a cool analysis (rapline)
Amazingly put 🥹🖤💜
Supreme Boi is still with HYBE/Big Hit.
I have noticed him in the credits of Le Sserafim's "Unforgiven" (title track) - the MV comes with a credit track at the end - so he has done probably a bit more.
My guess is you didn't see him for a while because he did his military service.
@@ruthfischer7615 yes, I know he still works for Hybe, I have noticed his name in credits for some Le Sserafim's songs, Enhypen, and TXT.
Oh you definitely need to look up the live preformance from Busan for this one. And if you want to see RM do a full English track, check out Change with Wale, or his feature on Champion by Fallout Boy
Change is such an underrated track! Highly recommended!
Really want them to see the Cyphers live, plus the Busan "Ugh/Cypher Pt. 3" performance, and DDAENG (the video with the production/prep for the prom party performance, a live performance, and the DKDKTV explanation video).
I really think the rap line shines brighter on live performances
Yesssss! Change is AMAZING!!!
STRAY KIDS THE KING OF KPOP.
"Go back to Hawaii" is a B-Free reference.
When you see a live you’ll see jhope’s rap in a different light. It’s very clear that his rap has to be seen performed! This is because jhope began as a dancer and he cannot separate that from his rap. After you check out cypher 4, you need to watch the cypher meddly live.

Yeeesssssssss in Busan 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Oh man the live performances !
you have to react to Outro Tear by them soooo gooood
Ddaeng, Ugh, outro:tear by rapline.. It's a must. And live performances of Cypher 1-4.. These tracks are FIRE. U will definitely like these tracks.. It would be better if you guys reacts to "A guide to BTS" by "Taylor Mari" it's long but worth watching. You will learn more about these guys..
All the mentioned songs are great. But imo, the live performance of outro tear is the best. Hope to see you guys react to it someday. Keep up the good work boys!
RM is saying Buchul (buddah in Korean) but I am a butcher. Obviously these two works (one korean and the other in English) Rhyme. master lyricist
You gotta check this out on the Yet To Come concert. They performed this and UGH back to back. It’s a must watch. So great live. 🔥🔥🔥
U need to listen to jhope‘s songs like: arson

Supreme Boi is one of their in-house producers.

Check out the live concert video of this song it's 🔥
Please check out Live versions after you watch lyric videos on the cyphers and definitely do in same video for part 4. Also Ugh and Ddaeng live versions and explanations videos for cultural references.
Great reaction! I hope you guys react to the cypher medley live once you've done Cypher Pt 4, their stage presence is fire.
Y’all should definitely react to their live performances the raps are amazing but when they perform it live it’s literally another level 🙌
Supreme boi is a korean producer with hybe (same company). He was un training to join bts but decided to be in the back instead (writer, producer and so on)
Pt 3 always gets me hyped 💣💥
Outro Tear live at Wembley and Armypedia live - a bit old skool rnb and hip hop reworking of 3 of their earliest singles
Y’all should give J-Hope ‘1Verse’ and ‘Hangsang’ a listen 👀👀 Highly recommend them
This song slaps way harder live
They are the king of lyrics
Their live cyphers are the best
Podrían reaccionar a "UGH, Ddeang, Outro:Taer, Bon Singuer."
Jhope: Arson.
Suga: Agustd, The Last, Shadow.
RM: Persona, Joker, Do you.
O alguna presentación en vivo plissssssss 💜

I Love this cypher so much ❤🔥
I think you're already recorded Cypher 4 but just a comment that it's best live. My favorite is 2, 🔥🔥🔥💜
Rapline is always on fire even more so on live performance, and watch out for JHope he is meant to be seen live on stage ( check out his Lollapalooza where he made history) 😊 react ro Busan live performance of Ugh and Cypher Pt 3, they will retire this song in that concert. You checked out Hobi’s ( Jhope) chicken noodle soup and on the street, see his More and Arson it has a really different vibe, most army were shocked 😂. RM and Suga are always 🔥🔥
love your channel! please, in the future when you react to bts’ songs try to also include some live performances! bts sound better live. also, dkdktv has explanation videos for some of their lyrically more complex songs that need more cultural context to be understood, such as baepsae, ddaeng, ugh, spine breaker, idol, etc. make sure to react to those as well💜
Yeeeees! Next cypher please! 💜
Thanks guys for the reaction..and please please react to Cypher pt 3 live Busan concert performance. Thanks again. Also Cypher medly live.

"Hip Hop Lover" is a great homage to some rappers, I think you guys might enjoy reacting to it
Love your reaction more bts reaction plsss
Thank you 💜
I would love for you to check out their live performance of "Hip Hop Lovers" (ua-cam.com/video/a_3KCRAYAFQ/v-deo.html), where they pay homage to hip hop and the legendary rappers that inspire them, and the mix stage performance of "Born singer", which is a tribute to J Cole´s "Born Sinner". (ua-cam.com/video/Z5WLRWMYzEU/v-deo.html) Then you will get both the awesome rapline and the vocalline. "Born Singer" was actually released in 2013, the mix stage is from performances in 2015 and 2017.
you should go check cypher pt 3 live in Busan! All of them were amazing but RM that day was fiiirreee!!.

Suga/Agust D breaks the beat,
RM ride the beat
Jhope is a beat

Bewhy - Challan . This korean rapper will blow your hats off.
I love Cypher, wow, I've got another dimension, the line of BTS rap is great, and I don't think it's loud enough to import my opinions, like I said❤❤❤❤
Suga = the last, shadow(spotify version) , agust d, what do you think, tony montana . Anda his live performances at Seoul encore Concert Dday Tour
Live performance 🔥🔥🔥 cypher medley (ft. supreme boi) live in seoul 2017🔥🔥🔥
Kinda like there is this rumor/wishful thinking of us getting one more Cypher - "Cypher V" with a new quest feature of this very enthusiastic rapper that we sometimed have been showing iff his skills covering BTS rapline songs - sometimes even watchful eye of the rapline... ;D (I'm trying not to cackle the neighbors awake..)
If you would look up the explanations for cyphers by DKDKTV you would get their wordplay is and triple and quadruple entendres better..
Hobi is making extremely multileveled barb :
"I'm too buse for them to compare me and talk smack aboutme. But I'm getting a bite, All - " and here we are with difference of opinion of the translation :D
you can see the korean version saying "Eonnis call me ppippi" -> where English translation has given Pippi a capital letter referencing a name - which I agree - But it kinda hides two of the multilayered meanings that way !
Back to J-hope's lyrics ?
Eonni is an older sister (here it also could be older female rapper - who are incredibly GOOD rappers in South Korea!) but If older girls - again : being older is status in Korea older girls are calling Hobi Pippi - Pippi happens to be "world's strongest girl" Swedish children's book character.. So he's practiclly saying.. "those Korean female rappers - that unarguably are incredibly good - are calling me strongest of them - after you shitty old geezer-rappers are claiming BTS rapline are girls.."
then there is the other levels, it being "BEEP-BEEP" sensored nasty word - OR reference (again thinking the age of those older male rappers looking down on BTS - than BTS rapline - he is using older technology reference to rib at their dinosaurian age) he might be referencing that even as a then guite a young man even the older girls blow Hobi's beeper.. ..Giving him their phonumbers in droves..
AND this being BTS rapline probably all of these explanations are true at the same time - they really know how to throw these out there.
because this is what BTS cyphers are about, double to quadruple wordplays.
*
All of them sound in this cypher like they have part where they talk like to a child.. Or like a person who'se understanding of the language is not really of the adult level - thing that we have heard from person who is proficient in his naive language and proficient in Korean rap knowledge - that certain rapper's rap game is not vocabularily at the proficient adult Korean speaker level.. õ.Ö
Apparently Hobi is referencing Pippi internationally known childrens tv-show & children's book character, and Suga is referensing traditional myths that are often also told children as a part of culture, And RM also made a reference .. I can't now bother to find it because i'm getting a headache. Like they are talking to a child.. ;D
Please react to UGH, Ddaeng and Tear..thanks
