I struggle with remembering words (especially naming words and also numbers) because of my dyslexia. I dread to think what people will think of me forgetting my PIN number o had just done lol. I can fully remember a number and then randomly my brain won’t make the image of the numbers in for me. I tend to remember the location and order of the buttons lol. But it looks like I’m a bit loopy when it happens. I can’t even imagine the shame and fear if someone has dementia. Biggest thing I’ve learnt is to never dismiss someone with dementia, don’t totally disregard them.
Time for health facilities to plan their infrastructure around patient needs. Bright lights, noise, calamity is not appropriate. It’s all just so wrong in its current state.
Yes, my Mom has never done well with chaotic surroundings. I took her to the ER in the last year...I said, "never again". Fortuntately, I have arranged a home health care group. They are wonderful. Unfortunately, I know that is not an option for everyone.
I loose words all of the time, I exhaled when she said if you know you are forgetting then you are probably ok. It has been pretty bad. I am 39. I have had multiple head injuries so I wonder what will happen down the road
