I think you chose well. The Vintera just looks and sounds better. The Squire is a good guitar, but the Vintera is great.
The s-1 switching is also a huge bonus!

The Fender S1 switch on my parts caster Baja flaked out so rewired with a regular CTS 250k pot. Still have the 4way switch though. Using Fender Vintage 64’s.

I actually picked up the Squier and modded it. Put in 51 Custom Shop Nocaster pups, brass saddles, electro socket jack plate, and added a series/parallel push/pull pot. The thing plays great and I love the black double binding. But your Vinterra is pretty awesome. Glad you picked a winner. 👍🏻

Got two CV50s...did some common mods...plus added Fralins in one...Lollars in the other...sound great!! They compete well with my Pro II. Got my first Custom Shop Tele today...ok...that's a different animal...I cried playing it through my Hamstead Artist 20. Heavenly...sustain...balance..clarity. Back to Squier....love Squiers for modding and playing.
