  • Someone had asked me about this so I thought I'd put a video together. I don't think of myself as a country guitar player, but there are a few things I needed to learn to sound more "authentic."

    Nice!!! It's the percussive staccato quality that always defined chickin' pickin' to me. I'm also not a country music player, but I've played in groups that included country in some of our songs, and had friends who knew and played the genre well. ...as a bass player primarily when I played, my technique with a lot of country was double tapping with fingertips in time. It just brought out the rhythm in those songs. Thanks for the vid.

      Squier 40th Anniversary Tele. I’ve got the same guitar. Looks rad. Sadly I dropped it and chipped the finish, but it’s on the back of the guitar, so no big deal. Battle scars, as they say.
