I paused this - came back a bit later, listened to mixing. I had completely forgotten these weren't real guitars until you mentioned it. If I didn't already own an 8 string with these exact pickups I'll be honest this would be a really easy purchase.
Enjoyed watching this, you spend just the right amount of time on each component of your mix to fit my attention span. It’s great to see your technique and hear your mixes come together without any fluff, I always appreciate this about your videos🤘
This is beast! Nice work - one thing to note, the bass is 5 string tuned to G# top string, so verses etc are played D# second string with more tension and giving it some more brightness and attack and the low end unison support on the guitars. There are a few notes in the chorus that shift down to the top string and you can feel the difference.
This is awesome and it's a gem for producers that are unsure about the quality of their guitar recordings. I am trying to replicate this, so I have a question: Is there any special configuration on the nameless amp? I see you are showing eq, IR and effects are disabled, but what about pedals, or cabin settings configurations? Again thanks a lot! The knowledge you show here it's amazing!
Huge ! Please create a Drum VST with your apocalyptic drums samples (if possible). I mean dead simple like one single preset with your fully mixed and processed samples. For example similar to Fop Kit I original back in the days. I'd buy it right away ! 🏆
Amazing! Used Odin 2 a bit and definitely wanna try this too. Also is it just me and my crappy headphones or is Erra’s version kick drum panned slightly to the side???
Yeah, I agree that the bends could be slightly more accurate. I tried following the tabs but I think the official version is bending between notes at some point.
It's better to first try to mimic the results with what you have already. For instance the Ozone Stabilizer you could get a similar result using dynamic eq. It's very rarely that I use a plugin because none other can achieve the same result, it's more what is fastest and what I'm used to.
If you feel like you are getting great results with Hydra, I don't think the Odin 3 will change your world. The main difference is that it's a little easier to use IMO. It goes down to double drop C as well while the Hydra only goes to E0 so when going lower I have to transpose the Hydra. Some humanization in the Odin with chord string delay etc. Small things like that make the Odin quicker to me.
@MOMetalProductions Thank you for your quick response. I love Hydra since your HLB video. Crazy what a blatant sound that is. For me, that's almost enough. The only thing I would like to have was that if you play the same tone sixteen times in a breakdown or so that there is more variation. Similar to Unmansky or Djinnbass.
@@vladv5126 I didn't state you said it wasn't fun to listen to. Just my 2 cents but to a degree I do agree with your statement. Took me up until this recent album to like them. I just see all these djent bands as modern metal.
Very poorly done the comparison at the end. Allways different part of the riffs. So couldnt hear more difference than theirs was heavier an your stuff had more highend
Your entire mix sounds like fake instruments. Moreover, your manipulations only make your plugins sound faker, making them sound even flatter. If your subscribers don't realize this, then I congratulate you on this year's deception for newbie producers. By the way, this is the most favorite thing for beginning engineers - to look for resonances and remove frequencies with a rough knee. You can shoot such videos endlessly and earn donations from schoolchildren.
Yeah I’m not a massive fan of how this sounds tbh, it’s cool and all but man you really can’t replace a good player like Jesse Which is nice because I don’t want AI and midi stuff to take over haha

I'd love to hear Invent Animate version (:
You did a really amazing job making those midi guitars sound natural. It was very hard to tell that they weren't real.

100% going to use that shaker trick. Nice one man!
Damn Odin 3 slays. I wasn’t sold on Odin 2, but this one sounds good, and I can see it being convincing in final productions now.
Really loved this video, went very well in depth and felt I learned a lot!
Thank you sir and keep up the awesome content!
Looking forward to the Odin video, especially in comparison to Hydra!
I await a full MIDI cover of the song, it's too goddamn good to just be the riff

Love midi guitars . Odin 3 / shreddage is basses . Awesome tutorial
11:28 quick correction, the Trance Gate plugin is by Kilohearts not Slate Digital and it is a great free plugin!
Mo is the future of metal
This style of metal won't last long, too many copycats, just like trap/mumble rap.
@@Vivaildi suuuuure but he does the best
@@Vivaildi well they also did that back in the day s...
@@Vivaildisaid as if them 80s trash bands didn’t copy eachother lol
@@mih9176 back in the days you chose a style and tried to be DIFFERENT. Now if you're not the same, you're not heard. Little kid.
Erra is amazing, saw them last month! Excited to jump into Odin 3 and see what we can do
Insane stuff man. I use Axure GMP by Study Sound Audio and I am blown away by the sound of midi guitars nowadays
Great video as always Mo!
As usual sick video man. Your mixes always sounds insane!
Planning on getting Odin III soon, cool to see how you use it!
Sick content! Looking forward to your in depth video about Odin 👏🏻
Love it man. 🔥🔥🔥
How to do the bends is a most needed video! I just got Odin III and I’m hurting bc idk how to bend :(
I love that kick
Awesome video 🤘
11:30 PSA that is the Kilohearts Trance Gate, available in their free plugin bundle, along with a bunch of other great free effects.
Thanks for that clarification man! I said Slate because I got it through the bundle I guess haha
Could you do one of these videos for Sleep Token plz
Gull som alltid!

NGL expected you to use Axure GMP for this but still good results 🔥
Amazing and inspiring
ok, I'm selling my guitars
HAHAHAHAH
We need a “sleep token but its 100% fake”!!!!!

That I won't do because I can't resell samples from other companies with the only difference being processing 😊
@@MOMetalProductionsThat's what I thought, maybe one day with your own samples then ! Would be game changing 🙌🏼
Hey! Could you make a tutorial on how you create those stereo synth sound to fatten up the guitars? Thanks!
The new video I just posted covers that 🙂
Amazing! Used Odin 2 a bit and definitely wanna try this too.
Also is it just me and my crappy headphones or is Erra’s version kick drum panned slightly to the side???
It sounds 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Brutal!
what drums are these? these sound huge!
This is ❤
Love it! Question, what does the Stereo Bass do/ role in the mix?? Love to try it on my own mixes!
It's adding some extra gnarliness to heavy riffs, kind of like quad tracking the guitars for certain notes but with a different sound.
@@MOMetalProductions thank you!!
Odin 3 or Axure?
Pls make drum ggd p5 template sir
Your version sounds even better than the original. That's impressive !
i feel like the bends are not in pitch, otherwise great tones
that can be corrected by programming
Yeah, I agree that the bends could be slightly more accurate. I tried following the tabs but I think the official version is bending between notes at some point.
@@MOMetalProductions i think this is the first time ive forgotten the guitars are programmed while listening to it, gg
Do you have links to all of the plug-ins you use?? You listed so many things, I might empty my bank account...
Or even just a list*

That you get with Odin more easily using the humanizing function!

Missed the chance to say, "Erra is one of the most exciting bands of our era" smh......
Wow
👏👏🤘
Dude, wtf? Your version sounded better 😮
sounds no more midi than the original lol
I don't wanna be a buzzkill but they sound like every djent band since 2015.
Yes and kinda no. I agree about djent being mainstream now. Especially since the production is a big aspect of it but still fun to hear at times.
@@godsreclamation2539 didn't say it wasn't fun, I just said they don't stick out among other bands in the genre.
