Did this back in '93. Remember walking through the woods to the trench that leads you to the range. The ground was hard as shit, knees were worn raw and ears rang forever from the mock mortar rounds exploding beside me. But man was that the most exciting experience ever for being 18 years old.
Same man, for me in 03. It was pouring down rain for days and stopped right as we climbed over the wall. Was so fun except somebody stole my dry socks from my rucksack and I was afraid to tell the Drill Sergeants. So I basically had trench foot on the march home the next day or two after when we went back to Sand Hill.
Did it at Ft Benning w/ Charlie Company, 2nd BN, 47th Inf Reg back in 2000. All 4 of my Drill Sgts were Airborne Rangers, and they told us that if we really wanted to know what the tracer rounds look like, keep our heads and helmets in the dirt and rotate 90 degrees to either side and look up. Shit was INTENSE and scary as hell, and the gravel just chewed through our BDU's (we didn't have knee pads or elbow pads back then) but it's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.
I remember we did the 12 Mile ruck march to this, when I was done low crawling I had never been so tired in my life man good times. They also use live rounds during this exercise
Same kinda had to do two full low crawls around the conpany because battle buddy lost his weapon Infront of me too the drill sergeant in the middle of the night
The way that I see it during my time at basic training earlier this year from April-June, this to me was the most intense part out of all the graduation requirements I completed to become a US Army Soldier.
I remember the 12 mile Ruck to this then on the way back a monsoon hit, lmao marching in the rain boots soaked gear wet and heavy, it’s crazy how far your body can go as long as you keep your mind right
man hell naw my ptsd kicking in watching this us at fort benning in 2007 we had the real shit coming our way and the mf explosions made you bounce of the ground like a basketball with live rounds right above you no shit you really couldnt look up or else you would be here shit was scary asf ill never forget it tho
I loved it more than anything felt I had a time to myself it you just get through the half of it first!I just yur.erd around and back crawled near the last of it and it awesome to see!!
Yep, and that's EXACTLY what they're trying to simulate : The stress of live rounds, in the dark, loud as F**K, all to get trainees exposed (not accustomed to, but an initial experience) of what it may be like in the real world so that they can overcome it mentally and push their bodies to complete a task or get to an objective that may save their lives and others' lives.
@@ryannolfe9051 good thing this isn’t real combat GENIUS. It’s BASIC training. Have you ever led Soldiers? Ever been a DS? My guess is no based off your “concepts” of training 🤡

It was a pain in the ass but not gonna lie, kinda fun. Aside from when a mortar sim went off a few feet from me and singed my eyebrows

Did it in 97 at Benning. It was a blur for me. I had so much adrenaline I feel like I just flew through it.

Miss it everyday.

Same I remember that shit went in 2020
Same kinda had to do two full low crawls around the conpany because battle buddy lost his weapon Infront of me too the drill sergeant in the middle of the night
It was pouring rain when I did this and most of the sand was just a pool of mud
Live rounds just 3 to 4 feet above and bunkers exploded
I never thought sand could get into so many places
The way that I see it during my time at basic training earlier this year from April-June, this to me was the most intense part out of all the graduation requirements I completed to become a US Army Soldier.
I did this 2005/2006, by this point in OSUT I was more pissed off about low crawling during OSUT than fearful of being shot. 😂
The fucking sand got everywhere and it was so heavy they purposely made it wet I found 2 puddles other then that best night of life so far
I remember the 12 mile Ruck to this then on the way back a monsoon hit, lmao marching in the rain boots soaked gear wet and heavy, it’s crazy how far your body can go as long as you keep your mind right
When I did this i wasn’t scared at all just beyond tired sand tearin my knees and elbows had to ruck to miles in hot sun to get there
Best part of Basic
Did this at Ft. Benning in 1998. Intense stuff.
Ahhh first time I heard rounds being shot at me. Next time was in Baghdad 😂😂😂😂 OIF 07-08, OEF 09.
Hey...My son's at Echo, 2/58, 4th PLT, Roster 404...right now in AIT!
Awesome! Best of luck to him!
Hooah
Yo thats crazy, I was also at Echo 2/58 a year ago. Ask him if he knew DS Smith, Killman, Swords, Kirby
@@kevinc.cucumber3697 You were in 1st PLT...right?

There's legitimately people that will fight to the death insisting this particular training has never happened.
Who says that??

Oh yes the adrenaline. I remember night infiltration train at Fort Jackson.
1986 total darkness and tracer lines all over...good times
SOOOO EXHAUSTING!!
I remember scooping out huge amounts of sand from my pockets, good times.
I love niki night ! ❤❤❤
🔥🔥
This one gave me highest adrenaline rush
This course was my defining moment
August 2002 what a fun night!
Please someone explain how we aren't already in hell
Bayonet March lol
I got eye pro for this. Good god that made things so much worse. They fogged up immediately and I basically did that shit blind
Damn it look like a war zone
Most intense part of basic by far imo 💯💯💯

That's the experience they wanted us to have...
This shit was so fun the wire was saggy so it got caught on my camelback tho
Funny, I never even noticed the wire over us
Awww the forge
The one at fort Jackson seems a little more intense
That’s a fact
@@jhwil90 That’s where I was: at Fort Jackson doing my basic training from April 19th-June 25th, 2021.
Damn. They need to get their heads lower. Weak.
Calm down there stud, it’s a high crawl
🖕😎
In real combat they don't aim over you're heads intentionally einstein.
