US Army Infantry OSUT Fort Benning Basic Training Stress Shoot Competition First Person Gopro 4K

- This is footage from a trainee, Not me, bonus points if you spot me though! This footage was shot during the stress shoot competition between platoons. The stress shoot is an exhausting number of exercises in full kit followed by shooting thier m4 (not videoed). While this may look easy, as you can tell it becomes exhausting quickly.
Shot on Gopro Hero 7 Black.

5:05 no matter how many times he fell he continued to push through. Love the video
He honestly was exhausted from already doing it once and then trying so hard! Got to respect him.
I will never accept defeat i will never quit
Thanks 😉😉😉😉 the Wang Fam would be proud accomplished centurion ☺️☺️☺️
@@kyleo.706 bruh what are you ok 🤨
The graphics on this game are amazing
The FOV is a deal breaker though. I'll pass.
So Im a video game now ??
If all goes well with the physical test at MEPS on the 27, I’m shipping for Benning the first of February. Infantry Recruit.
Nervous as hell about all of this, didn’t think I would ship this fast.
You’ll be good! Just keep working out and preparing yourself mentally!
Pretty sure this is the easiest time every to join the army due to covid. You will do ok just don’t quit whatever you do
Dude if you go into and just be a sponge and absorb what they tell you and be in the right uniform at the right place at the right time you’ll be fine. It’s going to suck but it’s fun I promise you that. Just make it through the first 72
@@GoldenGod69 when I was going through OSUT COVID didn’t really mean shit unless the CO or PL was around lol. Drill sgts would smoke us with our sweat drenched masks on knowing it was hard asf to breath thru and if somebody had their mask off it just gave them an excuse to continue the smoke session lol. I thought it would be easy but infantry finds a way to make everything suck.
Didn’t get to do the gas chamber because of COVID restrictions which is bullshit
@@Terin16 not bullshit. That shit SUCKED
Nice video I do have tips for the Trainee. When running you want to breathe through your nose and out through your mouth. This’ll allow you to control your breathing , and run/jog a little faster. Keep up the good work!
MasterTwo do you have any more tips man?
I heard that that's wrong, I heard it from a person who have run a lot of marathons, he said that the body to work at its best it need more oxygen, so, if you breath through your mouth more oxygen your body will get.
@@Gabo4516PR nope if you breathe through your nose your nose hair filter out all the stuff that isnt oxyzen but breathing in through your moth is more everything including co2 aswell as carbonmoonoxide
@@Gabo4516PR I think it's more about if you breathe with your chest or stomach
@@Gabo4516PR you have o2 receptors in your nose brah. Seriously there is knowledge that only is given when you make the ranks. I learned so much all i can say that there are men who stare at goats. Yoga and elevated thinking practices forge mind body n soul. The 3.
on your back on your belly on your feet. I remember our stress shoot.
NOW ROLL!!!!
Mans skipped 21
Jack Eldridge lol he sure did, never noticed that before. Ha
@@FitOneTech if you ain't cheating you ain't trying
Jack Eldridge best saying in the army!
If you ain’t huffing and puffing are you really trying tho
I noticed that too but I brushed it off instead of going back and checking as me not paying attention while he said 21 lol
when he climbed the wall I expected a notification on screen to say "press x."
I got chest pains watching this. I know what he's feeling.
During my stress shoot, we started a mile away from the range, had to run there with 35 pound rucks and iotv with plates and as soon as you got there you grab water jugs and run to your lane and you instantly start your interation. Couldn’t see bc my eye pro were fogged up😂
We wore fucking pro masks lmao
Seeing basic training vids after you've gone through it hits different. I remember that water tower in the distance! We used this range for CCO quals and some night shooting practice, and saw some airborne drops while we were chilling in the bleachers!
We did our stress shoot somewhere else though, after we did that we rucked to NIC. and then finished off with the ten miler, we finished at like 0330. E Co 347!
Every few years the Army devices a new torture teat!
I started cheering for him when he went up that wall ❤❤❤
Was really rooting for you on this one!! Deeper breaths homie!! Easier said than done I know. Trying to get a ship date to OSUT right now and I’m looking forward to doing this shit everyday.
how it goes well best of luck 🤞
Can you sign up for the army reserve the go to osut?
@@willford8302 I don’t think so. But national guard offer combat mos like 11b.
This was the toughest obstacle at OSUT. Sand Hill C/258 was my company. Graduated in August of 2010 went straight down the street to Airborne School.
Smoke show for sure
Tried jumping over wall 3x LoL fell off lol 😉😉😉 infantry leads the way
At Benning in '05, we did a 4 mile ruck run right before the stress shoot. Was a smoke fest for sure. Good times.
They made us do our 4 mile ruck with full gear (IOTV) and then we did our 10 mile ruck right after we got done with our stress shoot, definitely one of my worst army days 😂.
@@juanolivos3096 I can't remember what we did afterward, but I'm sure it was a continuation of the suck. This was in 05 when they were still training us to fight in Vietnam. No IOTVs (would have been IBAs at the time) in basic yet. BDUs, face paint, and a full load vest and ruck. The ALICE days. I think about that shit when I miss being in sometimes.
It was 07 around that time
Can’t say I miss this but Glad I did it
How did your feet or heels feel after that? And how do I/you prevent from your feet or heels from getting an infection/bleeding or peeling off? Good work man!! Im going to join the army in about 2 years from now and I've been experiencing and working out since about late June. And I've lost 35 lbs
So again this isn’t me but a trainee , but your feet get tougher as this is done later in cycle. Proper boot sizing and good socks go a long way. But really the only threat to your feet long term is being wet, which is why they tell you to change socks. I actually have a video from when I was in Ranger school and what boots I recommend (but you will have to use issued boots and socks at first until later)
This is an ass kicker! We never did this in the 1980s Army especially Stress Shooting in Infantry AIT. These guys have us beat in this category that now Basic and AIT is longer. After I got out in the early 90s I got into first was IDPA pistol shooting which we ran from station to station shooting each stage. Did Three Gun later which stressed the same thing in IDPA which was speed and accuracy. I think the US Army over the years started to compete in civilian matches and developed stress shooting to a much stressful level especially in infantry shooting. I think this comes from experience from 20 years of combat that soldiers will be running and gunning with body armor and going through obstacles. Good training guys!!!
Hey don’t let the vets see you saying they do something harder lol 😂 this was no joke and absolutely smoked them. I get a lot of comments where people downplay everything as I know damn well they’d be smoked. Thanks for your service too! 👍🏻
Full kit on a hot summer day running around with the 40lb water jugs, nothing better than the US Army baby!!!
Oh it was 40 lbs recall the weight reduction on the jugs it was actually because you have to 1,hand it a portion of the way
Yessir putting the work in 💪💯
Thanks man!
Thanks
Leave Monday infantry Osut wish me luck
Hunter Whitley good luck! You got this!
@@FitOneTech thank you nervous and excited
Hunter Whitley understandable! It’s a little bit of a shock the first three days but once you get used to the “routine” it’s honesty not that bad! Are you active duty? Airborne or RASP? Either way just focus on your goals and it’ll be over quick!
@@FitOneTech for sure I’m going in older at 26 just plain Jane infantry as 11X just a horrible runner 🏃 in general what I’m nervous about the most
Hunter Whitley don’t even stress while I first joined at 21 , I went straight through at Ranger school at 30 so you’ll be ok! If anything your maturity will help! And good news is that you’ll do a lot of running so you’ll improve quickly! I’m actually doing a video series on “prepping” for basic training lol, too late for you though ha! Between all the rucks and run workouts you’ll be fine! The ACFT 2 mile is super slow.
Thats why i love burpees, their a real barn burner!!
I’ve learned real quick if I want to hear my Soldiers complain, build burpees into the PT plan 😂
holy shit benning improved a lot ! When I went there All we had was just open field and sandy range lol
This is the definition of a POV
When I watch these videos it reminds me of Highschool football practice. But worse....
Gublicity not a bad comparison! Most people who have done team sports have a much easier time with most of the physical events than the ones who haven’t.
We used to all play sports yeah right one "all star"
Well, this makes me feel good about my wall climbing skills
What happens if I can’t do many push ups ? It’s literally holding me back from joining bc they make them do like 50-100 push ups I heard I can barely do 10
Do push-ups daily, I’m working on a few videos to help train up for initial entry but just do push-ups all the time whenever you can think about it. The recruiters should give you a PT test and can help you with programs also! There’s tons of great info on the internet to increase your push-ups too! Don’t let one thing hold you back! When I first joined I never did pushups either but I was able to max (75 in two mins without stopping) with just a little bit of work!
Check out Iron Wolf on youtube. He has beginner to advanced calisthenics workouts that will change your training life forever. He is an active duty marine. Check it out!
Your recruiter should be able to put you on a PT training program prior to you shipping to OSUT or basic depending on your MOS. I'm not sure how it is now in TRADOC with the ACFT vs. the APFT but I know when I went through Infantry OSUT our PT tests were scaled based on the phase you were in. I'll be honest, I did 14 PU on my first official APFT in OSUT and 42 on the 2nd one a couple weeks later and 80 plus on my final one before graduation. You'll get better across the board on all events the more you PT.
You'll be even more squared away if you work on it before you go. To build muscle memory, I'd recommend knocking out 10 good form pushups once an hour on the hour for a couple hours out of your day if you are able. That should give you a fairly decent baseline to work off of once you get to training.
If this is really what you want to do than get after it....stay motivated and bring it.
I about to enlist and I can also barely do any, I started from barely doing 1 push up to being able to do 10 in barley a week. Keep working on the push ups. It also helps to have a friend doing it beside you, brings out the competitiveness.
Go 42a
Embrace the suck brings back memories 1986 to 1992 my motivation was a high school teacher who said I'd never make it if I can make it any one that wants it can do it
Bro people tryna install their fear on me bro they dnt understand my drive and my purpose in what im doing they never will thats why its UP TO ME at this point bro tryna to be a 11b infantry man in the next 6-7 months tryna get that cord
It was 07 bro lol Back in the days
Its not even raining and your calling this training good drill though. Keep it up. God bless you brothers.
Crazy bro. Nervous for all this, I’m shipping out to Benning the 21st of september!!
You’ll be fine, it’s really not that bad , I’d just focus on your fitness for the rest of your time and just do what you’re told and it’ll be over before you realize
Loved this vid
Great video
Ceejay Scott thanks for the support!
Nice video! I would've been dead😂
Greece Day ha yeah it’s a lot harder than it looks and it looks hard too lol
Wow they're actually helping and like trying to get you through. I thought they just yell at you the whole time lol.
Your experience may vary, this is pretty late in the cycle , they do a lot more yelling and hands on earlier in the cycle. Plus it was a competition and we always get competitive and try and have the winning team motivating and helping.
@@FitOneTech I've been thinking lately about joining the army, probably as infantry. I'm 21 now so i guess it's either now or never. I've always had this desire to be a soldier, or maybe someone that's important for a bigger cause. Right now i work at a veterans cemetery (past 2 years) i feel like the army would make me a better person. Make me stronger. Proud. I've always been kinda introverted and nervous around people. Never liked talking a whole lot tbh. But MAN i wanna do something big, I'd be scared to lead people, but i wanna learn to overcome that and be the leader. I really don't know if I'm fit for the army so I've been kinda sitting on the idea of joining. I'm somewhat worried of joining and becoming unconfident or unmotivated and mess it all up lol. Do most people miss the civilian life after joining?
@@supernova6177 I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I think just focus on getting yourself in shape right now, and then if you feel like you want to join when you're in shape go for it. It's definitely a big commitment to join, but I don't think I've ever heard someone say that they regret joining the military after the fact
This is why you don’t half ass smoke sessions… so when this moment comes you ain’t dying lol
You ain't trying then you ain't dying ROFL
i ship out Feb. 1 im excited and looking forward to my time there
Leave for infantry osut October 1st!
Cole Hinshaw get it done!! ✅
I would throw up from exhaustion fairly early in this test if i was to do it. Pretty awesome stuff he did.
A lot of people don’t realize how tough it actually is, especially with the extra weight from kit.

Pro tips:
Tell your recruiter you like to run and if you are from a military family, make it fucking obvious by wearing a dress shirt with slacks with the gig line squared away, when you go to fill out the application for enlistment. And if you wear a polo, have your buckle lined up with your fly.
We outrank everyone on earth and who are you?? Generals President's and Emperor and everything ?? There is also other countries ??
mind you that plate carrier alone is pushing 40lbs, ach another 5, with plates pushing against your chest restricting breathing and all that
What happened to running a mile while while carrying 'wounded' soldiers on full battle rattle on stretchers, skedco, or just straight up fireman carrying dudes then getting in lane and shooting.
The standard for a stress shoot can be different depending on commander’s guidance, range , etc. The general guidelines are just full kit with different “tactical” exercises.
@@FitOneTech Ah okay.
That was motivating
💪
That was good
Thanks
Thanks for this video.
Shipping Monday. Do we still do all the training events in OSUT or is anything cut because of COVID? Also, what week do trainees begin rifle training?
Caesar there are definitely changes due to Covid, but literally thing a change daily here at Fort Benning, as they released a new General Order (6) today and how it effects individuals here. So I can’t directly say what changes may happen as I am no longer working directly on Sand Hill. Rifle Marksmanship happens during the second phase (white phase) typically week 4.
I’m also shipping Monday
@@FitOneTech Thank you for the response.
@@08kyron Nice. Regular Army? I'm NG.
Caesar for the record , with NG , they will get you shipped out pretty much immediately to return home upon completion of OSUT. So you won’t be a holdover or anything for that.
i know where this range is at lol we used the neighboring range for rm
yep thats the range! These ranges are used by pretty much everyone!
How the hell were they allowed go pros
It was put onto a trainee, it was my personal GoPro to capture the footage.
@@FitOneTech oh alright
This looks like a serious gut check!
it aint easy!
Who is this fit one tech guy ? He is a cadre guy ?? I'm in the video not you do push ups and shut your fken mouth
the private did pretty well, he definitely pushed himself. it's much easier to watch than do it. everyone watching thinks they can do better, until they actually try...
He already did it once before too! Glad someone else gets it... easy to judge from the sideline... burpees and IOTV add up REAL quick
Thinking that demonstrates high self-esteem. Then you get humbled. Instead of thinking “I’m not going to do as good as him” then you actually do much worse. Why don’t you calm down?
That's Centurion to you soldier 😉👍👍 back In the days

This wasn’t me but a trainee, but it’s definitely endurance. They’ve already done the course once and with the added weight and the length , endurance is probably being pushed the most.
How in holy hell is a private able to have some f&*#ing gadget recording any of this?

One of the best things to add is rucking 1-2 times a week to get used to it. I’d caution you from adding to much weight initially and too many times as extra weight puts a hell of a strain on your body.

Hey I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get deployed somewhere where I can be in actually in combat thanks so much cuz recruiters be liein. Plan on joining next year.
Comment Channel here’s the thing about deployments, you may deploy and not see combat. You probably want a RASP combat as that’s your best shot or 18X special forces. There’s not much combat happening right now.
@@FitOneTech ok sounds good many thanks hit u back if I have more questions
@@commentchannel4654 Your best bet is probably to just obtain a regular 11X infantry contract and then eventually go for RASP after lots of training and practice, cause if it's anything like Marine Recon and you fail then the Army is gonna put you based on the NEEDS of the Army, meaning you'll wind up a water purification specialist or some shit and not just a regular infantryman (that's if it's like the Marine Corps in that aspect which I don't know for sure as I joined the Corps). But if you do decide for option 40 or 18x you better make damn sure you're physically an animal and mentally tough as a nail (which honestly is more important than coming in a physical beast), even if you just get kicked back to Infantryman, it's no joke and much much harder than how it might seem in a 10min video. As for regular basic training, you don't need to stress so much over that (if you ever wind up there that is), virtually ANYBODY who genuinely wants to be there can pass, whether there fat or skinny weak or otherwise. Remember, it's gonna fucking suck more than half the time, you do EVERYTHING when THEY want you to do it, you're in THEIR hands for 22 solid weeks at OSUT, so make sure it's what you truly want before you sign or go anywhere 👍
