I've been asked a lot in streams how you breed eggs for shinies and I hope this guide can be useful! Make sure you on a completely empty box when you start breeding. Nothing more annoying then having all your eggs mixed in with your pokemon when its time to hatch. Also its a lot easier when it is a box with nothing but eggs, because you can use the minus button to select an entire vertical column and move it to your party all at once, rather then doing it one by one like in the video.

Release the pokemon because hacking pokemon is a bad Thing and i got a shiny Moltres today from a surprise trade and it was Hacked and the best Thing to do is Release it

Just got my shiny Fuecoco at egg 397. It was my very first shiny hatch I've ever had in any pokemon game it made me really happy to finally hatch one. While hatching the rest of the eggs, 12 eggs later i hatched another shiny Fuecoco!
I like to think if that ever happened to me I'll just random trade it to give someone a fun surprise

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the first Pokémon game where I am really interested in hunting shinies or get them through breeding and before I watched this I didn't even know where to start. good video! does having multiple of a specific pokemon you want to breed affect the egg rate? if so, is it better if they're mostly female, or an even split of genders?

Dont forget noibat gets fairly common massive outbreaks! If you dont mind forking over the materials for a shiny sandwich you can snag it in the wild! Might be faster

I do have a question though since it wasn’t addressed probably because it’s not so common but if the ditto is shiny or if it’s 6iv will that increase the chances for shiny and/or 6iv pokémon to hatch from the egg?

@craigalexander5286 also having a shiny pokemon breed does not increase the chance of breeding a shiny sadly. However, if you give a 6iv ditto a destiny knot, 5 of the 6 IVs are guaranteed to pass down.

honestly you can also get a foreign ditto by making another playthrough in another language if you have 2 switches (I have regular and OLED) It's pretty fast - i spent longer just waiting on a foreign ditto in SWSH than quick playing through to the ditto location. I'm going for Sprigatito right now! Excellent video!
I have 2 switches as well with multiple languages so thats also a very good plan to get one lol. It's crazy because getting a ditto via the 4448-4448 code is like shiny hunting in and of itself for some people but its usually quick for me xD The compliment also means a lot. Thanks!

This is super helpful! Though I am confused, do you have to stay in the picnic the entire time to get enough eggs? Or can you take breaks? And if you remove any of the Pokémon you’re breeding from your party, will it reset and start again?
You cannot leave picnic and you have to keep the Pokémon in your party to breed.
I watched a 15 minute video and I didn't really get it, and this 7 minute vid helped much more, you really are underrated

Just go to area zero. There are tons of them i managed to find a shiny in less than an hour
Try to get hunting glimmet on spotlight glimmet on ur map if u know what i mean and trying to search many times and u will get one shiny is that i did to get shiny too xd
Hey Beacon of Nick, I would just like to say as someone who recently joined the PkMn Community again after a long hiatus with Legends, I had no clue what Masuda or Foreign ditto had to do with shiny hunting...heck until Legends I didn't really even know about Shinies. Thanks to this video and your excellent explanation, I will be using this method on the starters.

Flame Body doesn't help in this gen.
@@TrueJamo I heard that that was a rumor that's since been debunked and that it does actually work. But who knows. The Pokémon you ride on is really fast, especially if (tiny spoiler) you've already learned to dash, so it's no biggy either way I think.

Great video! One question: I noticed you had Pokémon from two regions I assume aren’t your region. If I get a non-English Ditto, and breed it with English Pokémon I catch in my game, is that good enough for the Masuda method? Or do both Pokémon need to be from different regions separate from my own?

I never got a reply but I noticed other UA-camrs doing this method and they were not using two regions separate from their own. They appeared to use one Pokémon from their own game and another from a different region. Hopefully this helps.
Use one of your Pokémon (from your region) and breed it with a Pokémon from another region (I’m in the US and I’m using a French Ditto to shiny hunt)

So just to confirm, I know you need a ditto from a different region but is the other Pokémon like Fuecoco also supposed to be from a different region in order for the masusa method to work?
You dont need a ditto but you just need 2 pokemon that are from different regions that speak different languages. Ditto is just common since it can breed with anything. You can have 1 from your region and 1 from a different one. :)
Just need a foreign pokemon + ur native one, if u have english save u just need spanish/chinese/kor/jap pokemon they dont need to be jap + spanish for instance

Btw, just throwing this out there:
I always go to the very first town you come across in the game (Los Platos) and buy an Egg Power 1 ice cream for 900 money at the ice cream stand near the Pokémon Center. But since this video explained- and showed where to simply buy something that gives you Egg Power 2 rather than make it yourself, I decided to try it out. It appears to NOT be worth it. The ice cream is 900 bucks. The sandwich is 2800. From the ice cream I got 57 eggs. From the sandwich I got 62. Barely any difference for that much more money. I suggest going for the ice cream or perhaps making your own sandwiches if that's cheaper; I haven't really tried my hand at making my own food much lol.

@@BeaconofNick Yes, please do! I'm very curious to see if I got unlucky with my egg power 2, lucky with my egg power 1 or if it really does always make that little of a difference. I don't normally keep track of how many eggs I get per picnic so I'm not too sure but it would definitely be nice if you/more people tested this, especially since the difference in price is pretty big.

while i've already gotten my shiny sprigatito through masuda method took 180 under odds eggs but persistence paid through and my shiny sprigatito is now a pretty shiny meowscarada

i have a question, can i just have a box full of eggs, hatch them all, then if theirs no shiny just reset the game and rehatch them in hopes of a shiny
@@charliehorrocks8760 unfortunately no. The way I understand it once you get the egg from the basket it already has the data if if it’s going to be shiny or not, so you’d just be hatching the same exact eggs.
The way you can do it though is save before setting up the picnic, get the box full of eggs, hatch them then restart if there’s no shiny this way you’ll be getting new eggs when you set up the picnic

Great video! I recommend going to Alfornada and getting the second dish from the fancy restaurant. It's easy to make camp outside of the city and the main strip is ideal for running back and forth to hatch eggs!

Question, If you have a party full of eggs (with a flame body Pokémon of course) once they all hatch and there is isn’t a shiny, does restarting the game help with odds or are they all set as non shiny when egged (like not when they hatch)
