What a song, what an album, WHAT a band..... 🙂
Shuffling my feet to rocksteady, ska & bluebeat.
53 years old and I still love ska from the 70's & 80's.
I started listening to the Jam & mod bands from the 60’s then progressed into SKA & ultimately Skinheads….all in the 80’s as well….what a gift to have been a teenager (1981-89)……thanks mum & dad…lol 🤪🤪🤪
After four decades I still find myself playing this album from start to finish. Every song is a quirky gem.
Gregg Horner They are little gems and quirky is the word.
@@pix046 Such a fun band, always made me smile through all the high school crap :)

Underrated Tune
Paying homage to the late great Prince Buster.
great tune - tops for sound quality!
Buster, he sold the heat
With a rock-steady beat
An earthquake is erupting
But not in Orange Street
A ghost-dance is preparing
You got to help us with your feet
If you're not in the mood to dance
Step back, grab yourself a seat
This may not be uptown Jamaica
But we promise you a treat
Buster bowl me over with your bogus dance
Shuffle me off my feet
Even though I'll keep on runnin'
I'll never get to Orange Street
So I'll say there's nothin ' left to say
For the man who set the beat
So I'll leave it up to you out there
To get him back on his feet
Buster bowl me over with your bogus dance
Shuffle me off my feet
Even though I'll keep on runnin '
I'll never get to Orange Street
Bring back the
Who is the
We want the
Bring back the Prince...aahh!

Big up Prince Buster
Bought this on vinyl in the 80s so grew up with them and realise how important they are but they played at Kent CCC a few years back and I had no interest in going! Listening to this now I realise what a huge mistake

Is there another version of this? I feel like I grew up listening to another version
ua-cam.com/video/y3kQ_i0qXpY/v-deo.html Yeah I like this better than the album version tbh
The single version on Two Tone was solely produced by Langer and at a tight budget. Getting Alan Winstanley in gave this a much more professional and polished sound. The Peel Session version is somewhere between the two.
You never did a better song you Nutty Boys!
Herr Absurd class tunes pure class oi!!
love this album used to sneak into my brothers room and put it on LOUD... class
Fun fact : lee kix played the whole album in the wrong key cause he didn't know how to change it 🤷
What a cracking album from start to finish 👍
This is a much more confident version of their debut single.
The Shark Tale dvd menu brought me here
Same.
A tribute to Prince Buster.
Yes we all know that.
ska 👌
Amazing how quickly Madness changed track from ska and two-tone into pop. As a big ska/two-tone fan, I personally much prefer their older stuff.
True. But to survive you've got to adapt. Look at Elvis Presley and gene Vincent. By 1971 gene was forgotten, on his UK tour he got ripped off by his manager. Elvis was still producing records then. Also if Eddie Cochran, buddy holly, Ritchie valens, the big bopper etc wouldn't have died it's possible they would have gone in obscurity. Or had to adapt.
Never pop always reggae.
yeah, I actually think they went downhill immediately after this album, this was pure class and caught the whole Ska/2 Tone scene as it was meant to be. Great times.
If you listen very carefully you can tell this the music from Shark Tale
The instrumentals really sound like something that would have been in one of the original Spyro games for ps1 in my opinion
Haha I see it
Anyone here because of Madness Combat ? Just curious
RIP Rude Boy
Shark Tale brought me here
who needs anti depressants when you have this????
Come on wankas, come on then, Up the Hammers! WHUTD
Let ‘em come!
