Thank you...thank you....thank you! I fish up in northeast. Come July through September my lake goes off on little rainbow smelt. They chase em and they jump out of the water and the bass chew on em. I have had success on double fluke and walking topwater but was always missing something. Flukes tough to cast far. Walking baits too big but got bit. Got out today. Bass just starting to hit the bait balls. My cast to catch ratio was 70%. Just awesome!! And it has not even started yet on my lake. This bait is gamechanger for this wannabe pro! But happy to be just amateur guy! Thanks for sharing. Made my day today!
That’s how I always fish the old Berkeley Blade Dancer. People always hated on that lure but they were trying to fish it like a crank. No…the blade dancer is for top water, taking it over the top of weed beds. Killer.
I've been using this for striped bass for a couple years now. Like you said, there is a window when it's effective. But when they're chasing small siversides and nothing else, this thing kills!
thank you for doing this video. When this lure first came out, there wasn't that many videos that were informational on this lure. this is what I look for when there isn't much on a lure, the technique, the setup, etc. all very helpful!
Wow! I had two lures that looked very very similar to that one when I was little. They had pretty much identical swimming action. I lost them and have never seen anything quite like them. Now I know what to get. Thank you so much. I used them for the big bass I could see but wouldn't bite anything I threw. These always seemed to catch the picky ones.
Bought two of these.Tried it last night at a local lake. Only caught one 14” bass, but tut blow up on that bass was so cool! I can’t wait to catch more in it!
What are the odds!? I was doing some reorganization my tackle boxes today and I was telling myself: I must try these Jackals Topwater lures that Ive bought 3-4 years ago and they never hit the water! I now know when and how. Thank you!
I’ve had the larger one (009) for 2, possibly 3yrs in bluegill and only cast it 2-3 times and threw it back in the box. This isn’t the only video I’ve seen with fishermen reluctantly talking about the 007.
Yeah i use them for pretty much anything that bite a lure here in Puerto Rico, check out because the lure have 4 models and one is way too little that i use for ultralight fishing here but the 21 gram's one is perfect for shore fishing and is a beast
In my opinion why would u keep these baits a secret there are a ton of anglers who have trouble with finding the right baits to use I think all anglers should help each other not in tournaments of course but dang
I agree when I find something that works well I share it with others. Why cause I didn't grow up with a dad or anyone to teach me and this was before the age of technology where videos like this existed. So the only way besides trial n error was asking other anglers at the lake or tackle shop. To me that's part of being a fisherman is the talking and connecting with others. God bless tight lines.
Man we were on the water this morning and they were chasing minows but would touch our lures... The could have been a game changer for us today... Thanks for the share
Awesome video! I was fishing East Harbor, doing good on wacky and jigs but the bigger bass was busting shad. A guy on the bank nailed 4lb bass on some natural colored top water swimbait shad. Nothing hit what i had.
Dude that’s awesome! Was just out and seeing bass destroying bait and it looked exactly like that. Was trying to pick something out of my tackle and this will be perfect
Saw a video from Bassgeek a year or so ago covering this bait, seemed gimmicky so I never looked into it, ironically a buddy and I took a drive yesterday to our favorite bait store (Big Fish Outfitters in Lenoir City Tn) I noticed they actually had them in stock and almost bought some , now I wish I had lol
A sleeper lure for sure, a lot like surface irons in socal Edit:Not sure why you'd title the vid as such. Since seems like you did wanna let the secret out lol
Tried this today on my home lake; fish were blowing up. Several fisherman throwing typical spooks/pencil baits, nothing, while I was catching fish after fish. Best was 3 lbs but I’m sure bigger fish will smack it.
hahah weird I talked about this bait on a live I had with someone I have the one with the open mouth and prop and didnt have that much luck with it might need to give it more time.
Somebody shared this secret with me a couple years back, but I never learned how to fish it and never caught the first fish on it... Now I know, better late than never, Thanks!!!
Is Illex the same brand as Jackell. I've got the same bait only bought it under the Illex brand. I'm from the Netherlands by the way. Greetings from the Lowlands.
Well my review on this is expect to have a hookup ratio similar to a hollow body frog(Strike:Hooked). It has a time and place but overall I'm not to much of a fan
Totally different, but I rig my Flukes in a way that it makes it jump out of the water just like a minnow and it works amazingly well despite its weight. I can see why these work. These are always out of stuck, I managed to get one but haven't tried it. The lip upwards threw me off I thought it was damaged😂
clearance sales, especially local shops. Berkeley, zoom, and Yum brands are reliable and relatively inexpensive. make sure to take care of what you have. invest in good water tight tackle boxes. make sure everything is dry after a trip. don't be afraid to re rig soft plastics by taking a little off the end.
007 two bigger brother is much better. 008 and bigbacker is crazy good but got to order those from Asia. Most people don’t even know about the 008 and bigbacker. Y’all welcome just don’t buy the 009.
Dude you should develop live classes take guys with little to no experience take them to the water an teach them to fish. Charge like $60.00 a day you'd do quiet well

this lure was released in 2017 for Sea Bass in Japan. it was not meant to be used for Bass fishing but always work!!

I'm in NW Arkansas. Was on the lake yesterday chasing minnows jumping like this. I've never seen this lure, but that's exactly what they looked like.
I liked Arkansas it's the West Virginia, West of the Mississippi.
What are the odds!? I was doing some reorganization my tackle boxes today and I was telling myself: I must try these Jackals Topwater lures that Ive bought 3-4 years ago and they never hit the water! I now know when and how. Thank you!
Buy a lotto ticket....same odds...cool lure
I was at a bait shop yesterday and had one on my hands, put it back and now I'm regretting it lol
I’ve had the larger one (009) for 2, possibly 3yrs in bluegill and only cast it 2-3 times and threw it back in the box. This isn’t the only video I’ve seen with fishermen reluctantly talking about the 007.
Ive had a couple of those for a couple years now - never had much luck on them. Maybe fishing them wrong or wrong times.
I feel like this would do very well fishing for snook. It looks like a mullet going across the top of the water.
Yellow Senko brother......lived on the gulf in the70's till. The flipping Bass bite forever Bass 40+ years !
Yeah i use them for pretty much anything that bite a lure here in Puerto Rico, check out because the lure have 4 models and one is way too little that i use for ultralight fishing here but the 21 gram's one is perfect for shore fishing and is a beast
Very nice! Anything top water is very interesting especially something that I have not seen before
I've gotta try these. I fish Hartwell all the time and this would be perfect. Thanks for sharing
I bought one last year and absolutely love it. We're gonna need you to keep some baits out the public's view
In my opinion why would u keep these baits a secret there are a ton of anglers who have trouble with finding the right baits to use I think all anglers should help each other not in tournaments of course but dang

If a lure doesn't sell then they stop making them and than no one gets them. Aruku shad.
The Riser also looks sick when you pause and let it fall 😉
Man we were on the water this morning and they were chasing minows but would touch our lures... The could have been a game changer for us today... Thanks for the share
I’ve had it for little over a year, it’s best during certain situations only. Whopper Plopper is still my money top water lure.
Big bass lure too .
Awesome video! I was fishing East Harbor, doing good on wacky and jigs but the bigger bass was busting shad. A guy on the bank nailed 4lb bass on some natural colored top water swimbait shad. Nothing hit what i had.
Sup Tyler. Saw this lure before but didn't understand it, now have to find one. Any ideas? Ty
First weekend at home in almost 3 weeks and I’m stuck on dry land cause I got a concussion 😑
A storm subwart is similar and been fishing them for years. This looks great
Dude that’s awesome! Was just out and seeing bass destroying bait and it looked exactly like that. Was trying to pick something out of my tackle and this will be perfect
I think Berkley made something like this yrs ago. It's crazy because I was literally just thinking about this earlier today
I've had the jackall riser 007 and 009 for a long time thanks for letting it out lol
Hopkins spoon trick... Great vid Sir...I ordered
That action is really unique. I look forward to trying this. Thanks.
Lol, had mine for like 4 years now-gonna try it this weekend. Thanks!!
Awsome video Tyler! I have been crushing them on small top water baits the last two weeks up north.
Would you throw this around this time of year when the water temp is between 58 and 62? Like at Lanier chatuge and places like that ?
Saw a video from Bassgeek a year or so ago covering this bait, seemed gimmicky so I never looked into it, ironically a buddy and I took a drive yesterday to our favorite bait store (Big Fish Outfitters in Lenoir City Tn) I noticed they actually had them in stock and almost bought some , now I wish I had lol
Going to try it . Should work especially well with spots.
Up North when bass are targeting baby pike this bait is awesome. Pikees skip across the water to avoid bass and this bait imitates them to a T.
Do you have any thoughts on the Jackall Fishing Riser (JRIS009PS)?
Good question. I found one over the summer, tried replacing the hooks and worked it but it didn't seem right so I shelved it.
A sleeper lure for sure, a lot like surface irons in socal
Edit:Not sure why you'd title the vid as such. Since seems like you did wanna let the secret out lol
I have had the 009 in my tacklebox for a couple years and probably only cast it 2-3 times.
If you could only have 1 which would you go with? Stuck between bone white and chart back pearl
Tried this today on my home lake; fish were blowing up. Several fisherman throwing typical spooks/pencil baits, nothing, while I was catching fish after fish. Best was 3 lbs but I’m sure bigger fish will smack it.
Are we not going to address where you have tied to that split ring?

Really cool bait for schooling fish
Now I need to weight my old Hellbender and bend the metal lip up LOL.
Mine just came in the mail. Looks just like the baitfish around right now.
Great video.. Cant wait to try it.

Illex is the name used for Jackall products in most parts of Europe.
@@abiley84 That explains it all. Thanks Ariel👍🏻

The action is very similar to the OSP Bent Minnows. Fast aggressive twitches brings it out of the water splashing about.
Really digging the camo hat

Can’t even get my hands on one of these lures . To expensive on eBay
Interesting that the site for these lures can’t show any results. I guess I could make my own.
