You are oppressing them by forcing them to play as female characters. Speak to their teacher and learn about how they identify please. Only their teacher will know them properly.

Yours is the first video I've seen that has explained there are female variants of the characters. I purchased this game, but my two daughters are too young to play at the moment so I have not gone through the content. I've watched several videos and so far yours is the most thorough. Excellent job!
Glad you liked it! Unfortunately the version I showed was from their special kickstarter a couple of years ago that has the girls included. I've been told the normal base set doesn't include them. However, I do know that there are female versions of these characters coming out with the expansions. Mage of the mirror has a elf girl, and Frozen Horror has a female barbarian. You might want to check out the character pack of the rogue heir as well. that comes with both. If all else fails, you can easily find models of girl characters at most gaming stores, no problem. I remember the fun I had adventuring with my friends, and I look forward to adventuring with my daughter when she's old enough too! May your adventures with your family be amazing!
Another movement house rule: choose to move max body points or roll the 2d6. Good for barbarian to use house rule. Bad for the wizard, so they’d want to roll. But they’ve got 9 spells, so I don’t feel bad!
When the Wizard casts his spell @11:42. Would it now be an illegal move as it passes directly through the Barbarian. I thought he could shoot through Heros? But if he was 1 tile left or right it would of been legal.
Each quest in the quest book has a map that shows where everything should go as the heroes explore. There is also an app that runs the game for the heroes if a Zargon is not available and it too shows where everything goes.
The game feels very intuitive to me. The only not so intuitive part before playing for the first time is what dice results do what. Might need a quick ref chart for that.
There are a few expansions for this game, and all of them require the core set in order to play them. You do keep the equipment from past adventures (unless you lose them on a quest or sell them) and from what I hear, having equipment from the first book is pretty important for the following quests.
Is there a specific set of house rules being used to tweak the original game rules? I heard someone say that rolling 2s is an outdated mechanic. Has that been fixed yet?
The original art was way better and more adult-fantasy style. As a kid it would provoke so many emotions and made the game feel so much more real and scary.

Nope, when you buy or find equipment it is your characters' to keep. Potions are one-time use items of course, but unless your character gets rid of (or loses) their equipment, it'll be theirs forever.

11min, I think the mage should not be able to cast the spell on the orc as the barbarian was standing in front of him blocking his line of sight, determining line of sight is very important, not only in combat but also when revealing game board.
I picked up the original at a garage sale for $2.00. Compete! Sold it several years later on ebay for around $200.00. But never played it. I did play Warhammer Quest, which is basically the same game, and loved that. Wish I wouldn't have sold that one on ebay, though, it's worth a fortune today.
10:10 ahh yes, classic mistake of playing the Barbarian over the Dwarf, everyone knows that the Barbarian can't hold a candle to the dwarf. True aficionado of the game know that the Dwarf is strictly better!
Heroes come only in one gender in the Basegame . Female= Elf - Male= Dwarf, Barbarian, Mage (The "Hasbro Pulse-Version" has both genders in it)
So what? Didn't care when I got the game as a teen. Still dgaf now!!!!!!
Best decision they made for the remake, my two girls get more involved in the game playing female characters.

Great video! FYI the Wizard did not have LOS with the Elf character directly in front of him when casting fire of Wrath (except Dwarf).

I downloaded, printed and laminated some custom character sheets and we record using fine tip non-permanent markers.

9:08 How the barbarian didn't attack. Opening a door isn't an act. He could move and attack.
The barbarian didn't attack because they couldn't reach the orcs. Typically a character cannot attack with a weapon on the diagonal.

Mine didn’t come with female hero cards only got 4 hero cards. I guess they stop doing that.

There is no initiative. Play goes clockwise.
