The world-renowned estate and winery is owned by billionaire investor and entrepreneur, Howard Leight Jr. (@maliburockyoaks).
In 2005, Leight purchased the massive 37-acre parcel of land in Malibu and began construction. The grape vines that were planted were primarily placed there to assist with water runoff from the mountainsides.
However, It was unclear at that point in time the elevation, generous exposure to the sun, and volcanic soil would create some of the world's best grapes.
Leight's journey to building MRO into an internationally-acclaimed wine brand was fueled almost entirely by Instagram. Prior to its Instagram fame, Leight's winery had a respectable name to itself but has only further been catapulted by exposure to hundreds of millions of eyes through some of the world's foremost Instagram channels.
The property overlooks the entire Malibu wine country and grows its own award-winning varietals, along with fruit orchards, rolling hills, and terraces it is truly a special place.
