Tom, I think I am over feeding my plecos and corydoras. Just suggesting a video outlining how, when and how often you feed your fish might be helpful for a lot of folks. I think everyone overfeeds when they are beginning and learn to dial it back after some hard lessons. I feel like my grandma trying to fatten up the grandkids over here…
Didnt know plecos had a breeding season, but I find it interesting that last Saturday, when i was cleaning out my old aquarium to move everything to a larger tank in a new location, my two bushynose plecos apoarently had some eggs around and i had some babies i had to scoop up in a turkey baster. Now i got about 29 multi colored baby pleco in a nursery tank.
The more domesticated variants can be made to spawn on a regular schedule. I have BN plecos spawning almost every month with males doing double clutches if two females try to drop clutches close to each other.
@TMAquatics L046, L104, L129, L134, L173, L173B, L397, L471, Not so mini Ranger Plecos,(Bristle Nose) Albino short and long fin, Blue Eye short and long fin, Calico long fin, Super Red short and long fin. And a few whip tails. I recently lost my group of L174s to what looked like bloat. They were the only fish affected in the tank. It's a little frustrating.
@@nightowlaquatics mine are currently at 6 inches. I do have a solo also unknown L number Ranger Pleco that is pushing 14 if I remember correctly. There are some known to cap at 8" and some that push 24" fingers crossed for 8" 😆 🤣
Just a heads up, but Your Fish Stuff is not showing any pellets on their website. I am unsure if they are discontinuing the pellet food, and have reached out several times this past week with no response.
@@JAM_PLAYS no you don’t need to boil it it doesn’t cloud the water and it’s a soybean protein (plant) so they love it. Cut into chunks, size depends on how many fish in the tank. Fresh it sinks instantly. Freeze the rest, frozen will float until thawed. Stays water stable for a couple days when it floats again remove it. I like firm or extra firm.
are you allowing time for the diy paste to dry? it looks like they brush it on very thin and it appears wattery, is that your experience? i haven't tried it yet
I live in Austria (Germany) so ebo is close here , the plecos really love the food but what i dont unterstand there is only 12% mussel inside thats nothing for that price , there gives a other food from discusfood there 50% inside maybe im ready for a test

Jorge is the best!
Bought your recommended lights. They’re great, super light weight. I was very surprised.
They are all I have in my fish room. Very good all around!
I got some too!!

Thanks Tom at home sick today. Made my day.
I appreciate you sending me to NWA a year ago for my L134’s. They are still going strong and I hope to breed them in the next year!
Thanks tom! Im always wondering what else i could be feeding my plecos!

Great video! Thanks for great info!
Awesome video. Thank you!!
Good information thanks for sharing
If you are breeding bristle nose, may I suggest tofu they love it. It’s high in protein (soybean) and a good amount of calcium.
do you need to boil it first? also does it clouds the water? how high in protein do we need for plecos usually? 50% and above?

Do you still breed good Ocellatus?
thanks Tom, i was wondering what is the desired result of the foamboard under the tanks? insulation? noise dampening? leveling? thanks in advance
Great video Tom ❤
Tom!!! I have an adult pair of L315 wild caught. I’m having trouble finding anybody who can lead me in the right direction with breeding
Hi Tom when feeling your fry EBO PASTE do you smear it on a slate ? Like Pleco Ceramics DIY Paste ? Or make tiny balls ?
are you allowing time for the diy paste to dry? it looks like they brush it on very thin and it appears wattery, is that your experience? i haven't tried it yet
Andreas Tanke and other pleco keepers use Bassleer ? but ok
I had 6 Snowball Pelco - less than an inch long. Regrettably, 3 died, when will they mature before the breed?
What did you end up feeding your snowball pleco? I'm trying everything to get mine to eat.

👍🏻👍🏻
Top question…. Do I get out of the hobby because my entire fish room hasn’t laid eggs in two years.?
Hello Southwick
Stay with the hobby if you enjoy it. If you are doing things the same, maybe water plant changed things?
I have some secret sauce for you lol
Great video and thanks for the excellent info!
