I think it's cool to see how relaxed you seem to be in front of the camera compared to just a year ago. Keep the "A day in the life of Mike" stuff coming!

thanks, its still pretty awkward depending on the type of filming i am doing. I feel way better doing how I did in this video more as Vlog format than standing in front of a camera on a tripod and talking to the blinking red light

Such a bad ass truck, I have always loved the uni- body.

First thing i thought of was bad condenser. Remember, most fuel problems are ignition and most ignition problems are carburetor related. 😊

I hate it when buggaboos mess with our minds to see how bad they can frustrate us. Really frustrating when catalogues and/or manuals can incomplete or erroneous information.
Yet, there is no better feeling in the world when you can get yourself together and whip it into operating condition verifying you are a bit smarter than a mechanical device, at least this time. Good job! You prevailed!

Hi Mike, I enjoyed this one and keen to see any of the content you would like to share. I’m from Australia and don’t normally comment on any of the channels I’m subscribed to but I have to say that your channel really is one of the best and I think it’s just a matter of time before the subscriptions are in the hundreds of thousands, there are a few channels out there with high subscription numbers but nowhere near the talent or level of detail you provide. So please keep them coming, we appreciate your time and effort.

Mike I found that the best way to go with a Pertronic system is to buy the whole distributor from Sumitt I have not had alot of luck over the years with anything universal. I feel your pain I have been there to many times . I dont want to rub salt in the wound but I have aways found Fords to be difficult

I didnt feel like dropping $600 on a complete distributor so i went with the internals only. Wasnt a universal set up, was just tough to find the right one that was made for my distributor. This trucks problem is it was a disaster mechanically when i i got it and trying to un do previous work as well as fixing underlying issues.

    Great video 👍
Running points can be such a pain these days. I ran into problems with a 60 falcon that I was getting running after sitting since the 80s. I installed new points and condenser and the car wouldn't start. I went crazy trying to sort it out. In the end it turned out to be a a bad condenser.
I don't know if they are poor quality or were sitting on the self for 10 years. Seems like so many are dead or near dead right out of the box.

A man's gotta know his limitations.... So few people now days understand the old points type ignition. You need a grizzled old fart to stop by and help with those things. Too bad I'm on the other side of town.
No matter, keep the fun content coming.

I can do points, just wanted to try the pertronix. I prefer when the old farts or anyone for that matter doesn’t stop by: thats why my shop is locked when i am here

I am a grizzled old fart, and my experience is, you cannot buy quality points and condenser anymore. Even Echlin. It’s all junk. Pertronix keeps my cars on the road.

Maybe, you should have kept your '60 SW as a backup! Just saying, I liked the long roof!

Nice to get some time for your own shit. I have a love hate for pertronix. Super easy upgrade and run great but they fail with no warning. A mg I worked on the guy had his wired to resistor from his points and fried a few pickups. Simple mistake easy fix, when they drop out for no reason is the head scratcher. A points setup in a ziplock bag stashed in the truck will get you home.

I also have a love/ hate with pertronix but going to give it a shot. I also try to make time for my own projects on weekends

Something floating around in the fuel tank!

Nope, brand new fuel tank that was clean, all new lines, and pump. When the points were replaced in this video it has never happened again.
