Thank you for this video! I just got into wanting my first plant and I really wanted the Manjula. But after watching your Manjula video and then this one, I went to my local big box store and they had the Marble Queen. I decided to get it since it's a lot easier to find in my area. And since it's my first plant I decided to not challenge myself too much yet. It really is gorgeous in person. I cannot wait to watch mine grow and to propagate it.

I never wanted a marble queen. I bought mine crying. Found in a box store about 20 marble q. pots, bone BONE dry, leaves drooping, all of them almost dead. I attempted to water them but the security guy did not allow me to do it. So i had to buy at least one. I'm so happy i have it now! She really rewarded me with her beauty and i think she's the "kindest" plant i own.

This was one of my first plants, I got it as a supermarket rescue and for a few months it had been cut back to one leaf... now? It's one of my most beautiful plants 🥰 thank you for including common plants too!
Also in Australia, a Snow Queen here is what everyone else calls a Glacier or an Njoy. Ours looks like a combination of those two plants hence why it's got the different name.

I have found that my Marble Queen becomes more variegated with more sunlight and vice versa, like my golden. I didn't even realize I HAD a golden pothos until I gave it more light and it became variegated 🙃 My Marble Queen was doing fine and then I added a grow light and it became a LOT creamier. I don't know that chopping will do as much as adding light will in terms of increasing variegation.

    • @Houseplantygoodness
      @Houseplantygoodness  2 роки тому

Fair I hadn't thought of it that way, but not sure why when I cut it it comes back? Maybe those sections are closer to the light 🤔🤔🤔🤔 will investigate 🤓💚🌿

I got a small one from plane exchange, I chopped it into single nodes and propagate it into about 5 shoots. After transfer it to soil, I just keep chopping nodes that are crawling out of the pots and bury the cutting back to the soil. Those cuttings usually already have aerial roots because they are pretty close to the soil and they would establish pretty quickly.
I am hoping to get mine to pick up in size, so I put it on a pole 2 month ago. So far I am seeing some good signs.
The variegation is a bit unstable, and you do need to manage it. I was able to get some high variegation and vigorous growth, even with a west facing window in Canadian winter.

In my town there are golden pothos growing up the trees in landscaping and they get huge and fenestrate. I have been trying maturing a bunch of “pothos” types up trees in my yard now. Can’t wait for big fenestrated leaves! The marble queen sized up not as quick as golden pothos or cebu blue but I’m hoping for fenrstrations by spring (one year). These plants want to climb and attach if the humidity is there they will attach and run on and get BiG! There’s a reason we bench mark fast growth with pothos! I have really enjoyed learning with you this year. Thank you!

Glad you are showing the Marble queen such a beautiful pothos. I got mine 2 years ago as a baby plant. Its growing slowly and looks like yours colour wise with speckling and white blotches. I'd love to get a Snow queen but from what I've seen online, the images don't seem to show much difference to the Marble 🤔. I've seen someone growing this plant getting giant leaves and that's Leca Queen who has made her own mosspole supports and feeds the moss pole directly, I think that's key to getting massive leaves. My Marble queen are on a south east facing window, getting lots of light, not super fast growers, but no where near as finicky as the Manjula which I gave up on.

I love the Marble Queen, definitely my favourite out of all of them. I propagate my trailing pothos' by pinning the trailing stems onto pots of soil still attached to the mother plant, let them root themselves in and then chop. At the end of it you already have potted plants to keep or pass on.

    Love your reviews ❤
I struggle with any kind of pothos
    😂😂
So to see yours big and nice
    Its a big envy
It’s like I can keep the aroids
Anthuriums Alive and happy but the easier plants just never grow
My alocasia grew faster than the pothos
For anyone who wants a alternative to the marble queen pothos
I recently acquired a epiprenum pinnatum marble and that seems to be very fast growing and nice
It’s even started to develop fenestrations
It doesn’t start to get tiny leaves like pothos do even if you let it trail
You should try it out if you like the splashy fizzy variegation

My snow queen is significantly slower than my marble - albeit overall growth tends to be slowed more by super tight internodal spacing rather than new leaves. Having had each for around 6 months here in Syd/Aus, each have added around 20 leaves, however marble queen is about 6ft long, whilst snow queen is maybe 1ft at most

Fungus? Yes!!! Thrips? Unfortunately yes but it was 100% my bad as I didn't treat it in time and bastards spread everywhere.
In my experience it's really easy plant as long as it doesn't get overwatered.
