I've been a fan of yours for years sir. I didn't have anyone to teach me to fish when I was young. I picked up the sport of fishing to keep myself out of the trouble I was getting into. Your videos have helped me become a pretty good angler and changed my life. I don't know where I'd be without fishing. Thank you so much for all that you do. All of the videos, old timey secrets, being a good man and having God in your heart. God bless you and your family.
I've had times in my life when I've definitely strayed away from the right path. But I've always fished . It has always kept me grounded and at peace and close to the almighty. Just yesterday I got on an awesome top water bass bite. The excitement has not faded one bit. God bless
Thats awesome to hear. My parents were divorced when I was very young. Rarely got to see my dad but when I did we fished almost every chance we could. Going fishing when I was back home kept me out of so much trouble when I was younger
I've fished a great deal of years, and never been in the boat that I didn't learn something I haven't remember all of it but have learned something that I have used through the years. What I like about the most About your videos we can be a little bit goofy, that kinda mixes it up.
I found out about you through Jimmy Huston and man you are great person bringing God and fishing together just like Jimmy does. I just wanted to let you know you have a fan here in San Diego!!!! 🙏🏻👍
Praise Jesus Richard! You are a light on this earth...I'm goin fishin cause its good fer me...again! Love your videos, when my back goes out of whack, i go fishing with you on the youtube...peace from me n ri-ri.
This is by far my favorite channel to watch, what I love about you is your humbleness. The way you share your knowledge is second to none. I am a South African and will surely take what I have learned from you back home and use it there, if I have one wish then that would be to fish with you before I go back home.God bless you Richard, take care and be safe.
I think about this more often than I should 🤣 Or just imagine you’re sitting on you’re back porch, looking out towards your dock out on the lake when all you here is WOOOOOO!
I'm a old Northern geezer, Richard, who enjoy pursuing bluegills and crappies. A surprise fish for me would be a healthy Northern Pike. Your catfish encounters while seeking bass takes me back 50-60 years and my experiences with bluegill tackle and a pike latches onto the bate, sometimes including the bluegill that was hooked. Occasionally I used a short steel leader but most of the time not and without steel or 30+ pound leader, pike are going to bite through the line. It's such a pleasure to watch you taking your time to land the cats then gently release them back to the depths. It brought back old memories for me of times past. Thanks for sharing and God Bless you always.
Richard thank you for your entertainment and enthusiasm with fishing. Cable TV has nothing to offer any more so I rely on you and Jimmy Houston for my entertainment.
From road rage to rail rage to lake rage- only richard gene the fishing machine takes you on the lunker roller coaster ride in under 20 minutes per video.
Watching you has re-invigorated me in fishing again.. I was a catfish man for years, pulled a giant or two out of Norris Lake in TN.... Nothing like what you catch, but way big enough for me!! You gave me the "WANT" to try a baitcaster and go back to bassin, so i got me a 8.5:1 Shimano Curado DC where i am a beginner, i matched it with a Cadence 6.6 CR6B Medium fast rod off of your recommendations for the Cadence rod brand.. (MAN WAS YOU RIGHT ON THE MONEY)!!!! Nothing like a good Cadence CR6B!!! Within the first 2 casts with the Curado DC, i had to set it from #2 Braid setting to max wide open on #1 practically no brake Curado DC setting!! I just picked up on it that quick thanks to you and learning your techniques!!! Been bombing those casts since!! Heck, i am so in love with bait casters i went today and got me a brand new LEWS Tournament MP pro 8.3:1 mated to a Vengence Abu 7.3 rod. I wanted another 6.6" rod but they was out.... I plan on downsizing the rod with another Cadence 6.6, to me the Medium fast is a much better feeling combo that is (MORE THAN CAPABLE) of a 15lb+ Large Mouth!! I am running 30LB Power Pro braid based off your recommendations on my Curado DC and 50lb Spider Braid on the new Lews Tournament MP Pro... Got a deal on the Spider 50lb braid, 300yd was same price as the Power Pro 150yd, couldn't pass up double for actually less at Wally World!! I swear you strike me as a born and raised KY/TN guy, your accent sounds from the hills just like me..... Heavy and fun... Just a good ol boy lol... Thank you Mr Richard Gene, for re-invigorating my love of the sport of fishing, you are absolutely right with your products and recommendations, And you are (ABSOLUTELY RIGHT) there is no other sport better that (ANY) man/woman can succeed or fail in depending on how much or how bad they want it than the sport of fishing!!! I pulled a hook out of my thumb yesterday following the instructions of Mr. Richard. Saved me a visit to the doctor. I said, "thanks God for Richard Gene the Fishing Machine!"
My husband caught a blue catfish on a bass jig. He was so shocked. That cat fish in hailed it. And then I caught a channel cat on a senko. There's definitely a first time for everything. Great video!! Stay safe and God Bless 🤗

My go to fishing channel. You are the most informative person that I have ever watched, not to mention the wonderful humor. Tight lines brother. I love your videos.
Richard, I caught an eleven pound Flathead last week on 4 lb test line and ultralight rod. My bluegill rod. What a fight. 1/32 oz jig with a 1.5” Southern Pro Pearl Stinger. Grin.
I gotta say, I really enjoy watching your fishing videos, you’re real goofy and have joy when you’re fishing, you taught me the easiest way to fish for gar and some of the best covering to locate crappie and what to use for them and I’m teaching my son the same as well, the knowledge I’ve gained from you has really helped me to be a better fisherman, if you’re ever around Kaw Lake in Oklahoma again I’d love to fish with you sir, thank you.
Richard I have to comment cause I love you and this channel of yours ...have to love you ...you have shown me how to really fish..and made it exciting again. Cant thank you enough.
My dad always had a couple of jars of Uncle Josh Parkin his tackle box. He fished the phosphate pits near home along with Okeechobee, Kissimmee chain and river. I wish I’d been able to keep his tackle boxes and rods... but, I was active duty and overseas when he passed. I was 27 and he was about 52 so I’ve been without my fishing dad since 1976... sure missed him when I was teaching my boys to fish. Great video... I’ve been given a kitchen pass so hopefully can get out there soon.
"Owww!! 😮😮 Let's let em go!" Love Richard Gene videos. Always been my favorite, always will be. Helped me 100 fold to become the fisherman I am. You dont have to thank us old boy, we need to thank you.

Yep, the old Uncle Josh’s Pork, I knowed a lot of fellars that used a jig-n-pig back in the day! A lot of fellars won a lot of tournaments with that combo!
I still have about 4 jars of those unopened Uncle Josh Porkers and Strike King Pork-O's. They are getting kind of rough looking but they still work. I had 5, but I took a bottle out this year and caught some bass pigging and jigging.
@@penguin12902 I always assumed it was because the plastics were cheaper to mass produce and there wasn't enough profit in the pork rind baits. Now I know.

Richard Gene goes bass fishing with a jig and catches a big ole flathead . I know what you mean . I caught a 41in Musky fishing for bass once . That was a fight. I was lucky that it didn't break my line . Thank you for your wonderful channel
God Bless you Richard and your family, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Well you went for bass, caught a combined weight of 31/2lbs. of bass and 40 lbs. of flathead!! I love your videos you never know what you might hook into..but you always hook into something, and it's fun and educational to watch. Woooo!!!
Great job proving how you can finesse those big catfish on lite line. I watched my Grandfather land a huge flathead on a spinner bait when we were bass fishing. He probably had 10 pound line on Wal-Mart rod. He did just like you and played a 25 pound catfish in. I totally agree with you, fishing is a great sport. God Bless You and thank you for posting!!
What a fun day of fishing, Richard! I enjoyed it just a much with the flatheads! Hey, we love watching you up here in KC. Got my son a RGTFM shirt for his birthday. That’s what he wanted! Take care.
Great teaching and fishing. Congrats on the big beautiful catfish. I caught a blue and flathead catfish both over 5lbs this summer on white spinnerbaits! What a surprise!
Trains are good!!!! My dad was a railroad engineer, it took all the trucks off the interstate, and all the road rage. It provided people with all the things they needed with lower cost. I don.t mind waiting for a train!!!!
Enjoy your videos as always , especially when you get a surprise or 2 per trip. Stay hydrated and as cool as you can. This year is the first year I have ever had heat exhaustion. Was fishing below a dam for about 3 hours, had not drank anything that morning plus I had a dark blue shirt on. I began getting weak, my sweating stopped, and I began chilling. I was prepared to leave and then a fella got a huge catfish on and I decided to watch for another half hour because I had a scale to weigh the cat with. Got to the point I could take about 5 steps up at a time trying to get to the truck with my gear. Slow going. Finally got in my truck, got the air on and found a shade tree to park under and finally was able to take on some fluids. I say all this because I feel I can hear your voice getting raspier in the video. Keep cool and keep hydrated. If you notice your voice getting too raspy, get out of there into the cool, even of you have to hop in the water or splash yourself down, find shade, and get some fluids in Take care and get ol Elmo off that bean diet until he runs out of gas
Man Richard ( hope you don’t mind me using your first name, been watching so long I feel like I know you) , I have been having so much trouble here in Charleston catching a bass the past 2 weeks!!! I love your videos Richard. After a long day at work I watch your videos and I giggle makes the end to my day much better and I have caught a few Blues on jerkbaits and spoons your videos are awesome always
I generally don't catfish, but I've caught quite a few on the black and blue jig. Caught my PB on a googan slim Shake worm screwed onto a Shaky Head. Medium bass Rod, close to 20 pounds and what a fight! Thank God I had 20 lb braid on. Had a brand new expensive rod and bent that thing over double, going under the boat twice. But I was well and landed it in the end. One of my best fresh water fights ever

Another great fishing show RICHARD GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Oh my Lord, yes! Those liquid-filled jars of pork trailers. Everyone used to fish a Jig and Pig.
That train is hauling goods that we need brother. Patience is a virtue.
Best channel on the tube. God bless Richard Gene
Nice Flathead and beautiful sunset. Bless you too.
RG I said it was time for some catfishing but whatever works. Thanks for the trip.
Thanks Richard. Today i tried one of your setup's and it worked great for me.
