Greg videos are undoubtedly the best fishing videos on UA-cam because he isn’t just fishing tiny stocked lakes or golf course ponds. Large man made lakes in California are as real as it gets for fishing and Greg can always catch ‘em.
Not saying I wouldn't love fishing stocked/private water from time to time but i do like the challenge of the big public water like you said. Maybe its the tournament angler in me
Dude well said, that's totally the draw for me. Helps that I live in California but am originally from Minnesota (easy fishing). These lakes teach you how to fish.
Thank goodness for Greg Blanchard putting out a great video today!!! My mind needs the distraction ❤Am I not entertained? I am definitely entertained with every single video Greg posts💯‼️❤️Plus!!! You got to get your In and Out treat❣️That’s a totally successful day imho💯Looking forward to seeing your next one, as always!!! Much love and wishes for you to CRUSH the next tournament!!!
Good morning boys. A little turn and burn and a cup of mud and the latest GB video. Thank you Greg for taking us out on the water brother. Looking forward to the rest of tournament season!!! Tight lines boys!!!
Definitely hands down. One of the best fishing vloggers, I've seen I love how he has a little in and out logo down on the left hand side of the screen. Gotta love it man thanks greg
Have you ever night fished Greg? I've recently gotten into it here lately.. mainly cause of the heat here in Georgia.. I fished a tournament last week, at the same lake, and didn't catch nothing... went back to the same lake, fished from sun down to sun up, and had 10 bites, 2 spit outs, and put 4 in the boat.. no jet skis, no boats, no burning sun, and a lot of fun..
I did at clear lake last year and it didn't go so well. Definitely would try it again, just need to figure out how to get like a night vision lens for the GoPro
just got my Native Titan X 12.5 a couple days ago and I couldn't be more impressed! taken it out twice so far and I'm loving it more and more each time
definitely took me off guard. was right before getting on 128, on monticello road. and the next trip at new melones wouldn't ya know, saw another bear up on shore when i turned a corner lol
2 things would have helped you today! Absolutely FFS and some suspending small baits. Especially in the super calm waters. In the windy water throwing the spinnerbait it was great but I’d definitely have a trailer hook and smaller trailer. Awesome vids as always 👊👊
Greg it wasn’t a tournament but still damn good video content anytime you can enjoy a beautiful day on the lake doing what you do best! I would love to hear some pirates of Caribbean theme music everytime you go across the lake in that native 12.5 floating barge! Thanks for sharing brother tight lines take care and God bless!
Our next club tournament is on Berryessa. It's gorgeous with clear water, but you're right - seeing fish that won't commit or become unbuttoned is maddening! One thing I'd like to try is dropshotting a Gilly like you do. 😊 Tight lines! 🐟
Greg boat came out really awesome Bro. You'll appreciate her in those bigger tournaments, where you need more storage, and accessories. It's so cool to watch them really investigate certain baits. Hmm, is that real? Lol. 🎣 😎
The look of the lake reminds me of Melones back in the late 70’s-early 80’s….we would literally have 60-70 fish days. It was loaded, they even planted silver salmon one year. Many giant Browns were caught back then. With all the water we have received in the last few years, hopefully we will see a population increase in our foothill lakes.
Awesome video - super clear water when it is calm would be tough - when the wind picked up that was the ticket - need to bring a Jerkbait next time LOL
Good mornin ,coffee is great but Greg's fishin I don't know lol just kidding man. If you can see the fish they can see you lol. When lake is glass pull offshore cast towards shore. Waters glass use a suspending jerkbait if it's windy spinner bait. Thanks for the video bro can't wait for the next one.
I wonder how a jerkbait or a jig n minnow would’ve done. No wind in the morning and the bass weren’t really chasing but they seemed to be keyed in on baitfish.
If your getting the fallows on the big bait maybe down size to a weightless fluke. I know it’s deadly for me on the east coast, maybe it would work on the west coast as well?
I was using a P&J jig with a crawl and hooked something so freaking big it drag the boat a little before popping off.. Lake berryessa is one hell of a lake.. I want my redemption so bad but I don’t have the time to go back.. So many sleepless night thinking about that fish..😂
I think you were unto something when you got them to followed your glide bait in the beginning but idk if you made the right adjustment. I remember watching a Damian Thao video and he was throwing a top water bait, and the bass weren’t committing so he switch to a smaller same style bait but he mention something about the rattling noise that trigger the fish to commit into biting it, idk if it was the same scenario that can applied. And those bite you had on the spinner bait idk if that was the ticket but then again it was also much windier when you threw it so that might also be reason why they were hitting on spinner bait or moving bait, maybe you should throw a fluttering spoon?!?! Anyway good video, keep posting.
@@GregBlanchardFishing He did caught them, and in his video I think he did say it was a certain amount of rattling that was just enough to trigger them to bite versus what he was throwing prior that has a louder sound…idk, but who knows, I think if it was an actual tournament your clutch would’ve came into play last min 😂.
Well it was a beautiful day & it’s always nice to see the wildlife out. I said it before it’s the dog days of summer it seems like it doesn’t matter where in Ca. you are it’s slow. Tons of fish but very few bitting & when you do get bit it’s dinks or sunfish which is better then nothing a guess. But there is just a ton of fish of every kind & you can see big fish but they have no interest in your bait I fished one spot & I used a bunch of different baits & not a single bit. No matter it’s nice to get out. 👍
Always enjoy your content so clean very relaxing videos. Wanted to ask you would you ever consider making your own bait line retail I some ideas 💡 great video as always 🐠🎣🎏 fish on🤗
I hope I'm not being disrespectful by saying this but i would really like to see you fish a lot more of the national trail tournaments. I understand the insane amount of time and money involved in fishing on that level. I can't speak for anyone else but i would gladly contribute monthly to help make that happen. The content that would come out of that would be a movie by itself on top of I'll probably never get to fish the bigger tournaments so having a rooting interest in Greg would be awesome.
Try slow winding the 250 next time, it's not really a chopping kind of glide and seems more times than not they commit way more to the slow wind making a wide methodical glide
Greg please set your drag and leave it. Zero reason to change drag setting mid fight with 15lb test on a spinner bait. I promise it’ll help solve some of these fish dropping problems.
I think those fish would eat if you figured out how to work the big baits or tried other big baits, like you said. It would be hard, but doing a big baits only day, might be really cool. Or extremely boring... LOLOLOL
GOES show you you can have everything in the world Doesn’t mean you catch more fish seems like your fishing and skills has declined over the years lots of small fish 🎣
Coffee brewing, family still asleep, GB vid. Good times

Going to be a good day when Greg posts! Good Morning to all!
Watching this to wind down at the end of a busy night shift in the ER. Getting into my fishy brain for a tournament this Sat. 😎
right mind set!
Thanks for the video Greg!!
Who ever reading this I hope u have a blessed day n catching fish 🎣🎣
I read this and still didn't catch anything
Agreed Greg! Bass always seem to look bigger when they are in the water.
Summer is always tough, but good job Greg, keep putting the time on the glide. It will pay off at the end 👍
Lol saw your title and said, nothing is more of a tease than the monster tailing my glide this morning on Lake Travis. F'ed up my whole day.
Back from vacation. Just got done watching the last 3 videos and a fresh one drops 🎉 🙌🏽 woohoo perfect
just got my Native Titan X 12.5 a couple days ago and I couldn't be more impressed! taken it out twice so far and I'm loving it more and more each time
awesome! enjoy!
When ever windy at Berry I am always throwing a spinnerbait another great video thanks much!!!!
Days like this are why I used to carry a couple of oversized Rooster Tails in my tackle bag. As always it was great fun to tag along.
Thanks for watching!
Wind made the difference!
12:07 I thought you said you pulled that fish from 30 years away. Not yards. I was dying laughing haha
🤣🤣🤣
“The look back, the fallback, everything “ 😅
Dude, I've never seen bears at Berryessa. Been fishing there for 40 years. Thanks Greg.
Same been camping there for 35 years
definitely took me off guard. was right before getting on 128, on monticello road. and the next trip at new melones wouldn't ya know, saw another bear up on shore when i turned a corner lol
I agree. Never in 30 years.
I would really like to see more tourney fishing off of the 12.5. This kayak and piqued my interest for sure. Always enjoy the videos.
took it out to the tournament (next video) and worked out great
@@GregBlanchardFishing looking forward to the video!! 👍

Berryesa is my second favorite lake in Northern Cali to Clear lake
Our next club tournament is on Berryessa. It's gorgeous with clear water, but you're right - seeing fish that won't commit or become unbuttoned is maddening! One thing I'd like to try is dropshotting a Gilly like you do. 😊

Good luck!!! Hope the fish aren't shy and willing to hit some topwater!
Like seeing you take us to Lake Berryessa. Good luck at New Melones!
Greg boat came out really awesome Bro. You'll appreciate her in those bigger tournaments, where you need more storage, and accessories. It's so cool to watch them really investigate certain baits. Hmm, is that real? Lol. 🎣 😎

Decent sesh. Would love to see you practice fishing deeper for em. Ask Damian for tips maybe. Cheers GB . Good luck next tourney
I just need one of them GB! Lol you are the reason I want a Native baaaad
Haha they're great fishing kayaks. Checkout Facebook marketplace, sometimes you can find a great deal on one
@@GregBlanchardFishing im always looking! Gotta save a bit more but ill have one and ill meet you one day in it! 👊🏾
I used a Rapala DT-10 in a bluegill pattern a couple of months ago and had a very good day.
Maybe try that next time.
How many pictures of fish do you have on your phone Greg?🤣 Awesome video as always! Thanks for keeping us entertained!! 🤘
too many🤣
Thank you kind sir
Awesome video - super clear water when it is calm would be tough - when the wind picked up that was the ticket - need to bring a Jerkbait next time LOL
The one bait I didn't have with me haha
They call those "OOH OOH Baits"... Because that's what you say when you see the followers.. "Ooh ooh!!"😮😅
i have lots of those🤣
👍✌️ soldier of bad day in your office.. is 1,000 times better than a bad day in an office building,lol..✌️👍
Agreed!!

Haha the jerkbait was one of the few baits I didn't have in the box

so wish i had a jerkbait in the box that day
If your getting the fallows on the big bait maybe down size to a weightless fluke. I know it’s deadly for me on the east coast, maybe it would work on the west coast as well?
...when u saw them bustin' baits earlier, did u consider throwin' an underspin...???

Been catching all my bass on points at Berryessa 1-2.5 pounders on pop r
I’ve been going to berryessa every year for the majority of my life and I have never seen a black bear up there!! That was really cool to see

fish are weird and those subtle changes can definitely be the difference. Damian probably catches those fish lol

I wonder if you were to use a mid-stroll technique on the glide followers, if they would eat it?
Gotta do a swimbait only outing again

Thanks Gilbert! Maybe someday down the road!
Are you still using the same tackle trunk for all your setups
Who’s missing New York this guy. lol sorry couldn’t resist.
There may or may not be another trip planned soon lol
Looks pretty rough!! Do you like trying torpedoe lure? Chrome and black, or a yellow spots torpedo!
Curious which launch this is at Berryessa? Was there a few days ago and the place I launched my kayak looked nowhere near as good as this!
Hi Greg, What fishing knot are you using to tie your lure on? Thanks ✌️
Jimmy houston knot for all fluorocarbon applications!
Hey Greg, just curious why do you use that kayak dolley thing you have over just using the wheels (that I believe you also have) on the kayak?
what boots are those?
We had a similar moment last week on travis last week. I put on an underspin and thats what did it.
“Stabler” 😂
Ok, you redeemed yourself 30 seconds later with “more stable”….love your vids Greg!!
if it makes you feel any better, it has been just as tough in NY recently lol
that aint good! tell those NY fish to behave say around early August lol
Dang GB! Maybe, spinnerbait bite was solid.
A pleasant surprise! Usually you have to throw a tiny Underspin there even in the wind to get a blade bite
GOOD MORNING FELLAS!! WE MEET AGAIN LOVE IT!!

Where did you launch from? Is it easily accessible to fishy spots for someone who doesnt have a trolling motor?
Google earth it. The long ramp is obvious 😊. And yes. I don’t bring my motor to that spot.
Try slow winding the 250 next time, it's not really a chopping kind of glide and seems more times than not they commit way more to the slow wind making a wide methodical glide
More bear content, please!🧸
I fish Berryessa all the time.
That’s the first time I seen a bear out there. 😳🤘
Surprisingly I saw another one the next trip at New melones haha
That's a day for the note book.
Greg please set your drag and leave it. Zero reason to change drag setting mid fight with 15lb test on a spinner bait. I promise it’ll help solve some of these fish dropping problems.
I literally had the same epic fail with a pike this morning 😅 right at the boat, grabbing the net, and big girl popped off
Heartbreaker!
@@GregBlanchardFishing for sure!
That Kayak is sick! If you don't mind...how much $$$$$ for a setup like that. With all the electronics and everything, minus your gear and tackle?
10-12k at least
3.9k for the kayak, 3k for the graphs, 1.5k for the batteries to run electronics, 1.3k for the NK180, couple hundred dollars for the crate, etc
Fricken more $$ than my boat!!!
Man I would have gave you a dollar if you would have chased that bear down to pet it lol
Woulda taken a few more dollars 😂
Nice!!
The breeze
That water clarity does not exist in DE 😢😂 Great vid!
its cool to see down deep but sometimes i wish it was a little stained so these fish wouldn't be so line shy
Maybe try switching to a different glide. I get them to commit doing that.
Hover/Mid-strolling may have been the ticket or possibly a jerkbait since they seemed noncommittal.
Thought this video was about me for a second.
Haha never you Ken😂
once that chop was on the water the spinner was the only option
If it was me I'll use square bill around rock that just me thats my confidence bait
Thats the look we all know too well, as soon as i see greg make that face and look into the camera or into the distance, face palm moment,
@ 22:46
Ruff
Reminds me of me
But less😅

I’ve been doing way better this year with smaller trailers on my spinnerbaits
Lol. As soon as a little wind picks up you start catching fish. Hhhmmmmm
your next trip to new York enter a fishing tournament
I would have loved to see a fluke tried
Bet
Clear water and bright sunshine, should've tried a jerk bait
Surprised you’re throwing a 250 on an Abu rod, thing weighs 6oz
Take a mega bass jerk bait to melones, if they are on it that’s the ticket
Spinner or jerk
GOES show you you can have everything in the world
Doesn’t mean you catch more fish
seems like your fishing and skills has declined over the years lots of small fish 🎣
Dude, keep your inside voice inside.
Try doing an 8 trap to see if it’ll bite. Almost like a figure eight.
