Not only have you made me a better fisherman you have inspired me to be a better man. Thanks for all the great content and knowledge sir, you are greatly appreciated.
Nice bass, Richard! You are surely a bass master! This video reminds me of that trip when I caught my trophy bass, and then let him go... I had about a 10-minute boat ride to my favorite fishing spot, and it looked a lot like your bluffs! Anyway, about my third cast, I felt a hard thump and set the hook! My rod bent nearly double, but nothing moved down on the water side... Thinking I was snagged, I started moving the boat closer to the bank to get behind my lure. That's when I saw the line slowly begin to move! I tightened up the slack and gave a sharp firm twitch; that's when it came alive and almost pulled the rod from my hands! I fought that beast for a good ten minutes, and when we both tired out, I had him near the top of the water. I reached for my net... As soon as the net touched the water, that fish gave a mighty kick, and with my weight forward, trying to extend the net, I fell completely overboard! My splash spooked the fish so much that he leaped high and cleared the side of the boat, disappearing from my view... What happened next surprised me so much that I have been unable to tell my best friends. I heard the outboard crank up, and MY BOAT began to move away from me! It motored back to the spot where I had been fishing, and the motor cut off. I watched as that crazy fish jumped up, cleared the gunnel and splashed into the water, disappearing down below... I swam back to the boat and climbed back aboard. I looked around as I was catching my breath and saw my lure laying on the boat seat. That's when I thought to myself, "I guess it could have been worse..." God bless ALL of us! WWG1WGA
Always a pleasure watching you catch fish and i appreciate you sharing your knowleage ! Thats a beautiful stretch of river you fish ! God Bless you and your family !
I was just bluff fishing with shiners, and I caught the smallest spotted bass I have ever caught, he was like 6 inches and my shiners were about 4 inches. I laughed at how big his appetite was.
I've caught a few bass that small on a 1/2 Oz spinnerbait. I kept thinking how in the world was he gonna eat something twice its size. Gotta admire there gumption 😂
@brandonwoodcock4374 I cleaned a 12 inch trout 1 time that I caught and it had a 6-7 inch trout in its belly, fish eat huge food compared to their size.
Hello Richard Gene! Love your channel! We live down in Shelby County Alabama but we come to Geraldine often. My nieces husband is a coach on the Geraldine Bulldogs football team and they live there as well. Great little town! Take care brother!
That first good'un was a 6 and a half pounder. Maybe seven. I would be taking pictures with it while smiling a lot. Hey, I like the beans and taters song. I hit 6'4" on beans, taters, and milk. lol Richard, I have the best time fishing with you. I never did fish bluffs for bass like that and I see what I was missing. We used to fish the fallen trees on them for crappie, though!
Man you just don't know how much you're video means to me 😊 brings back some of my favorite memories 💕 I've got a request? Could you go stripes fishing on lake Weiss where little river feeds into the lake ? Had some of my best days on that river ❤ keep your hook wet and your powder dry😅😅😅
Old fisherman says he retired and also said he has health issues.. it's in the comments on his last video, couple months ago. I miss watching him myself ...
Red Cajun needs to come out with a red and yellow camo line. I like the red but you can't hardly see it for bites. Red and yellow so you can tie on to the red part like a leader almost but also see the yellow parts for bites. Just 2-3 foot increments.
Watching your channel is like being immersed in a world of creativity and inspiration. Please continue to entertain us with your talent and enthusiasm!♂️🌱🚘
I’ll have to try the salt, because every time I cast net shad they die about 30 minutes in the bucket. I’ve tried a lot of things that have helped a little bit but they usually die within a 1-2 hours after I put em in the bucket
Richard, free lineing, is that leaving the bail open and letting bait swim with line under finger to natural swim.. I need a big minnow to do this it seems .....thanks if you reply, Louis northern California
Unfortunately Richard doesn't reply very often. But yes that is exactly what he means by free lining. It does not have to be bigger minnows, you can do it with smaller minnows also. You do need to be a little careful giving them too much line especially with bigger baits as they will wrap you up in brush or rocks.
Even if you use large rock salt it will eventually dissolve and not get caught up in the filter. I use fine pool salt from Lowes, it dissolves fast and is much cheaper than grocery store salt.
Hey richard gene, how can you control the depth of that shad? If he's lively won't he stay shallow if he wants? Thank you for the awesome entertainment!!
Not only have you made me a better fisherman you have inspired me to be a better man. Thanks for all the great content and knowledge sir, you are greatly appreciated.
Amen this brother got me through thc withdrawal and out of my CUD
Richard Gene fishing for big bass with livebait is some of my favorite entertainment! And educational!

Hey, Way to go Richard that video got my ADRILAGENS going. I’m going to get after them Crappie in the morning.
Your awesome Richard, I would love to fish with you one day. Thanks for the great videos. God bless buddy.
You should try Marinas early in the morning for cast netting they always seem to hold better quality shad.
Love live bait bassin
Richard, have you heard from The Old Fisherman? He has not posted video's in a long time and I wanted to see if he is ok.
Old fisherman says he retired and also said he has health issues.. it's in the comments on his last video, couple months ago. I miss watching him myself ...
Really enjoy your videos!

Richard we need another Mama Sue video! We all her too ❤️👍🙏🏻
Thank you for all you do, love your videos
Congrats on that biggun’ RGTFM!
Great content and always entertaining. Thank you for your hustle and grind.
You have to be the most knowledgeable fresh water fisherman that God ever created. You target your species and always reel em in.
Red Cajun needs to come out with a red and yellow camo line. I like the red but you can't hardly see it for bites. Red and yellow so you can tie on to the red part like a leader almost but also see the yellow parts for bites. Just 2-3 foot increments.

Move Down The Bluff YEE Haw…. Beans n Taters!!!!!…..Hey, WOoooOoo .. Praise the Lord!
Did you make the bait bucket that is in the water with the Noodle around it? Do you have a video for it?
Yes I did and its an old video so forgive me if its quality isnt good ua-cam.com/video/a200tQz9URs/v-deo.htmlsi=ZhAjUnWZxdcZ2_kc
@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine Thanks brother! I appreciate it. God bless 🙌

A lot of people don't realize a 6 foot net is the radius not the diameter. Only allowed 4 foot here.
God blessed you.

You do need to be a little careful giving them too much line especially with bigger baits as they will wrap you up in brush or rocks.
Mr. Fishing Machine, what would you change about your technique if you were going for smallmouth? Would you use a leader then?
If the salt goes in solid will it not filter out the salt? Would it be better to dissolve the salt first?
Even if you use large rock salt it will eventually dissolve and not get caught up in the filter.
I use fine pool salt from Lowes, it dissolves fast and is much cheaper than grocery store salt.
Great video Richard. Remember your scales next time.
I'll bet he can guess within 3or 4 ounces 🤔
If you lose a net or spinning reel and Rod throw a buoy on top of it immediately I had to learn the hard way
Great tip!!!
Hey richard gene, how can you control the depth of that shad? If he's lively won't he stay shallow if he wants? Thank you for the awesome entertainment!!
Lol..2 minutes after asked you answered..
Where do you get the floating net you put the bait in before you put them in the tank?
Richard, have you heard from Steve “ The Old Fisherman “, you hasn’t posted anything for a couple of months.
Go and check out the comments on the last video Steve made. He addresses your concern there.
I talked to him about this time last year, and was talking about quitting UA-cam. So as far as I know he has quit, but he may be back you never know
@@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine I'll guarantee you he's still fishing though.
I believe those bass were lured by that old gospel favorite 'Beans and Taters' that I've never heard.
Richard, do you ever do much striper fishing?
They........
"Because it's good Fer yeh"
Is that zebco red Cajun line
Yes that it!!!
Bro off the papania
Anyone see the fish busting shad at 0:47
💜🎣
Im going to guess that big bass about 7.5 pounds, im sure im off a little but its kind of hard on camera.
It is! Cameras don't really do fish justice!
6lbs
Did Bersal finally trim his ear hairs?
Wasn't that Elmo's buddy?
He can't see well enough to do it and his wife done left him again.
i have had crappie eat minnows while in the bucket
