Very helpful as i have been using the sv205 without much success, after finding the price and availability of the zwo asi120mm i was considering the sv305. You answered my question thanks
Great video. Getting my lxd75-sn8 about set up. Using dslr for now but do have an ASI678MC for guiding and planetary. I'm still trying to decide on a DSO camera.
Good start on the guiding you'll have fun taking longer exposures, I've never ran guiding assistant so really must get round to it. I look forward to seeing what you image next. I see you're using the onstep system which if I get round to rebuilding a mount will be using the same, you may get asked some questions.
Onstep rocks. The user group is awesome and very helpful. Don't know if I'm smart enough to answer your questions but I'm willing to offer any assistance.
Perhaps a stupid question: To get in focus with the 305 pro in the 165 guide scope i need to the length of the guide tube increases by around 2cm. Does that mean the focal length is 140mm or is still 120mm? Thanks in advance
120 because the focal point will be at 120. Different cameras will have the sensor at different distances so they have to have the focuser move. If that makes sense.

Great video, thank you very much for sharing it. Did you get PH2 Guiding to recognize the Ascom platform driver?
To be honest I haven't even tried since it worked with the non ascom driver
I just got this setup. Haven’t played with it yet will give it a try sometime soon. Just the video I was looking for. U got a new subscriber too
Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it
@@whyf16uy thanks I’ll try. I’m a photographer but astronomy is a bit new to me. Tried it a few years ago. Will see how this goes.
Excellent content. Bring us more like this one.
I'm trying. All it takes is money.😀
Hi, thanks for sharing. I happened to get the sv165 and sv 305 too. What settings did you use on the camera for guiding? Contrast, gain, etc?
I can't remember changing anything in PHD2 for camera settings. So everything must be default.
@@whyf16uy thanks :)
Clouds do suck! XD

@@whyf16uy Thank you for the fast reply, makes sense!
new to all this, do you have to polar align before using autoguiding?
Yes. I use the three point alignment in NINA but PHD2 also has a couple of alignment tools.
How about sv905c for guiding?
I have not tried it but since it is built for guiding it should be fine
I want buy same camera. I see its good enough. any tips and sugestions?
Seems to work just fine. I hopefully will try some planetary soon and See what it can really do
