Congrats John. Keep kicking asses. I love your attitude and your guts. In the music business, you're as real as they come. Uh-Huh & Whenever We Wanted are classics plus I've had hours of joy listening to bootlegs. I finally got the chance to see you live in 2005 & loved every minute. Stay cool John. P.S. Your wife is beautiful. You got lucky yet again.

I first took notice of John's music in 1985 when I was 9 years old. His voice and words inspire me. Mellencamp's truly one of the greatest performers I've ever seen. He's an icon and a legend.

@John Mellencamp I have been thank you for being such a good artist in more ways than one. remember when John and the band came to Holland on the "whenever we wanted -tour"
He filled big places( 20.000 +) in America, and here he played in The Hague city for maybe 1500? (sold out) people, and he rocked the house.
We (in Holland)also can relate to the songs John writes.
I always thought Mellencamp is a dutch name(how proud i was..) but maybe it's German, doesn't matter= we LOVE John's music!

As a person born with spina bifida, I can attest to how much guts it takes to talk openly about the defect, especially in such a public setting. I never knew John was born with SB but I truly admire him for using this forum to tell people about it. It's not easy to talk about, especially not in a forum like that. Thanks, John.

it's a shame that he did not mention his old lead guitarist Larry Crane That helped him make some of them songs.
