    Great review. I have a 2019 S60 T6 R Design with the Polestar tune - great car and I hope it lasts. I hear people have issues- especially with the hybrids, but haven’t heard personal stories to that effect. Oh and the Bowers and Wilkins sound systems are about the best in the entire industry. 1100 watts in the S60 and crystal clear.

    Volvo's design continues to blow me away, I absolutely love their styling. I wish their reliability would match the beauty of their vehicles. Fantastic review, nonetheless.

    Always loved Volvos, such handsome well-made cars and your fantastic overview has given me additional insight as always, Tyler. Makes one stop and think before investing $60K in a beautiful vehicle, and hopefully Volvo will remain responsive to the problems you address.
    Cheers~

    We love the look and luxury of the 2023 Volvo XC60. The first week December we ordered our 2023 Volvo XC60 Ultimate Bright!

    I'm a big Volvo fan, currently driving a 2017 XC60 T6, (my 4th Volvo) but I gotta say I am not sure if my next car will be a Volvo, I'm not all that happy about the direction they are going, some small things, but they do add up, like my current XC60 has the folding middle seat, looks like they did away with that, also don't like the whole google thing, and lastly (or maybe firstly) I think their quality is really going downhill, they used to be famous for building super reliable cars that would last a really long time, but lately I am reading about people having all kinds of problems with Volvos.

      It’s definitely a shame because the new models as a whole are still quite compelling, just starting to lose some of the extra thoughtfulness of the old ones and the dependability too.

      @@Realistick I see allot more Volvos on the road then I used to, so I guess they are compelling (and I still really like the one I have) but in my opinion they are losing what made them really good back in the day.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  Рік тому +4

      @@cyclewise6926 Agreed, although I still feel that what makes them good today could still easily be paired up with what made them special in the past. They're not too far gone just yet.

      2017 was the last of the older model year. I purchased my first Volvo 2023 XC 60 T8. Fit and finish perfect. 455 hp will beat most cars on the road, and this is a Volvo, no less. Most of my drive is in Hybrid mode. Enough to get me back on forth on battery. No problem at all so far. My other car is a 2017 GLC Mercedes. Each has plus and minus, but I would quickly choose the Volvo over the MB.

    I like that your reviews are always different than the « regular » journalists car reviews. Always give a good evaluation/ opinions of the cars. One of my favourites along with Savagegeese. Good job.

    Great review and great looking wagon. I’ve always been a sport wagon fan and we had both a V70 GLT and a S60 T5 that we leased one after the other that we both really liked. It is unfortunate that there are effectively no sport wagons left, only raised crossovers. Also, as much as I like the marque - the seats, comfort and safety are exceptional - I wouldn’t trust the reliability at this point. We went with a ‘24 Impreza RS. At about 1/2 the price with similar performance, size, (Impreza is more generous inside), stiff chassis and most features it’s been impressive for the 3k miles we’ve put on it.

    The older versions, Momentum, Momentum Pro, R Design, R Design Pro, inscription and yes the inscription pro obviously may have been mind boggling especially if you buy one second hand and start looking at specs, only find a base level Momentum pr the Momentum pro to have 95% of the stuff the inscription versions have plus a few options that are still options on the Inscription versions.. But here in the UK especially most company cars have taxation penalties on emissions so most will have to chose from the base level cars but then many will load them up with options. Our own Momentum Pro was one of the Volvo UK staff vehicles so was the lower spec Momentum Pro but had options like the Winter pack that adds heated windscreen, heated wipers, heated steering wheel etc. Family pack with the rear booster seat option so you can lift the seat base as a childs booster seat, intellisafe pro with all of the pilot assist driving options, blind spot and cross traffic alerts, Family pack with a mains plug socket to charge things like laptops etc and the Xenium pack which is even an option on the Inscription spec cars with the Panoramic sun roof, 360 degree camera and parking assist. I am happy they did allow all of these options to be added to the lower spec Momentum pro. We ended up with a spec that would be beyond our budget if we had to look for the inscription badge on the back of the car and have a car that is 5% away from being a fully specced Inscription Pro at a price which was within our budget, second hand with less than 30K miles from new.

      The mild hybrid issue with it dying applied to the mild hybrids pre 2023 so all models should be good now but I haven't researched those models recently. I personally use carcomplaints.com (and the nhsta reports you can find on there), cars.com, forums and consumer reports too.

    No paddle shifters on the recharge model either. In fact you can only manually shift in brake regen mode (not sure if that is a recharge thing or not). I to am less than happy with the configurability via Android Auto. Unhappy with how little info you can get on mileage you can get in the various modes (pure electric, hybrid, performance). 2023 saw the demise of auto parking and wireless charging too. All the Euro lux SUVs have those. Volvo talked a lot about digital keys years ago, but as far as I can tell they never implemented it. You can unlock and remote start with a phone app that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
