- Hi everyone in this video I'm painting old kitchen cabinet doors with some furniture paint. (Good Home Furniture Paint from B&Q cost 9 pounds for a 500 ml thin) I'm sanding, painting and shorten old cabinet doors . So I hope you will find everything that's important in this video. Just started painting all of our dark brown wood kitchen cabinets. Colour I've chosen is stone, so I'm finding that I have to do a 3rd coat to cover the extremely dark original colour. Thanks for your video, makes me realise that I've been being far too hesitant - your advice on the type of roller to use, and seeing how you touch in the grooved areas with ease, has inspired me!
How did you get on?ours are walnut laminate style and wanted to go grey
The Best Video on the Subject I have seen.Very well explained with great ideas re Ebay too.Thank you.
Good job buddy. My local housing association fitted me a kitchen, and used the cheapest melamine faced chipboard cabinets and doors, in a disgusting fake wood dark brown you could imagine. I'm now left in your position, wondering how to make over these cabinets. I can't afford new doors, so I think I'm left with sanding down the melamine, buying some architrave to add some profile to the doors by running it around the front edges, painting the cabinets white, and the doors grey. If it turns out half as good as yours I'll be very happy.
All the videos I have seen on UA-cam doing this sort of makeover, they all have MDF doors, and not the really cheap chipboard, so I really want to film the process. What sort of cameras did you use to film? Audio source, and editing suite?
Thanks very much for making this video.
Chris.
The final product is very nice! Awesome job 👍🏻
exactly what i needed to see, thank you so much! literally have the same cupboards and wanting to paint them !
i am inspired by your work , i am going to try and do my kitchen now thanks bri
Looks great. Nice colour choice as well.
I was skeptical the paint would not last as the doors are so smooth. I thought primer would need to be used for sure.
Once I've painted kitchen fronts with Farrow &Ball paint. 2 coats of primer 2 coats of paint. It tooks me more than a week. But this paint is great. I think most important is to sand it down properly so it sticks and last.
Can you share a link to the paint rollers you used? I want to make sure I get the proper material for that beautiful finish.
Cheap fix, great result.
Does the paint scratch off?? Thinking of painting my cupboards in the near future.. Cheers
Great job... Looks smart..
Great video! Thank you for sharing! Can you please the link of the cabinet handles that you used? They were really nice and beautiful! Thank you!
I would caulk the gaps between the boards of the doors. The paint doesn't fill these gaps properly and will most likely crack.
Thanks for sharing. Can I ask the color name?
Also does it scratch please teply
Great
Listening you I can hear polish accent. Am I wrong? What is the best paint water oil or stain resistant for kitchen units? Any recommendations?
