- Two nights on Acatenango in January 2023. Sunset hike to the shoulder of Fuego Volcano and a sunrise hike to the summit of Acatenango. We did the hike 'solo' without a tour group or guide.

Wow, how did you know the path to fuego? Is it well marked? Did u experience any problems in finding a place to put the tent?
The Fuego trail was very well marked, and finding the start of it was straightforward with a basic mapping app like AllTrails.
It wasn't too busy when we went, so finding an empty tent spot wasn't hard. However, a company guide did come over and say that we were in their spot, but it was okay because they had a small group that day and weren't using it. They were very friendly and invited us over to the campfire that evening.
