I had a class this spring where one of my fellow grad students gave a presentation on the music of Halo. In it, they analyzed how it was used in the opening mission - its genius and subtle in ways I hadn’t realized before.
" there's a clear divide of before and after Halo combat evolved in the gaming industry" is an understatement.
I was with your Dad at Best Buy when we bought the 4 TVs, 4 Xboxes, 4 copies of Halo, and 11 extra controllers. They didn't have enough in stock for us to get all 12 extra controllers in one go! I agree that in-person Halo (and Halo 2) LAN parties were some of the best times I've had playing video games.
It was so great! Didn't you and your brothers have hard-wired lan connections on your Xboxs throughout the house to play multiplayer in your own rooms without having to do split screen, even with this first one that didn't have online play?
I remember something like that.
@@ExothermicPlaysGames We did! We had three X-boxes and enough controllers for 12 players at any given time. When Dave moved out I bought an extra Xbox so we'd still have enough for 12. We had Sunday night LAN parties multiple times a month.
@@ExothermicPlaysGames Maybe you were too young then, but I remember playing some LAN CTF at the Ellingson house. Even Aunt Brenda played! Her username was 'Your Mom' if I recall
Rip the newer halos you wont have that og magic
