Ricky has done an awesome tutorial. His enthusiasm for this beautiful synth comes shining through. Clearly synth programming is another musician skill which I need to discover and develop. Thank you so much Novation TV and Ricky. Oh and I love the aside about your tiny LA apartment - so cool.
Thank you for this awesome video Ricky. These are the things that sold me on the synth and allowed me to purchase with confidence. The Peak is also the first synth (both virtual and physical) that I've owned where I've actually created and saved my own presets. It's so easy and satisfying to use! Novation has done a fantastic job here, I regret nothing! Keep these videos coming :-)
Oooh, I just downloaded firmware 1.22 from Components (no patch notes) but notice page 9 of the oscillator menu has space for 10 USER WAVEFORMS!! VERY COOL! I can't wait for this feature to be ready! I presume we'll send them via Components but there's nowhere I can see to upload them, so it must still be being worked on. This will be an absolutely awesome feature for an already brilliant synth Novation - you bloody stars! :)
Very subtle and sophisticated musical sound design, very well explained, step by step. Comprehensible, enjoyable and highly recommendable tutorial about a purposeful in-depth programming of this amazing synth. Pädagogisch wertvoll 😉 Thank you very much! It would be a gift getting more Peak tutorials like this.
I think you wanted to turn up LFO 2's slew rate instead of 1's to make LFO 1's rate modulation make smoother. Anyway it's another great video by Enrique! Makes me love my Peak even more :)
I was going to say the same thing, all turning up the slew on LFO 1 does is smooth out the saw tooth shape, you have to change it on the S&H on 2 to make that gradual change.
Peak is overall powerful and very flexible. I would love to see Novation add some digital 3 band EQ or at least high & low cut to it for that extra final patch touch.
Thanks for this! Very helpful. Could you clarify the tip at around 6:45 and why you turned off the source (LFO2+) prior to adjusting depth in order to ensure that the depth only ever reaches +15? It seems that the result would be the same if you left the source on LFO2+ and adjusted the depth afterwards...or did you turn the source off first just for demonstration purposes?
Hi Enrique, are all wavetables on the Peak/Summit routed through the NCOs? Really love the layout, intuitive and simple workflow of the Peak/Summit. The ability to route the wavetables through the analog signal path, filter, envelope and amp making for some great sounding patches. Thanks for the great tip on deselecting Common on the LFOs per voice.
Hi Thank You :-) Can it be that the PEAK have "background noise" when connected to a computer via USB? I have the problem with deep tones. Know the same problem from the KORG monologue
Hi Andro, not sure what you mean by background noise and deep tones, but our Support Team would be happy to help you get things sorted. You can reach out to them at bit.ly/NovationSupport.
@@TheNormalUniverse UI wise, the Hydrasynth is pretty nice--The Peak has more knobs per function, but I love the Hydrasynth signal path layout. Price wise, the Hydrasynth Desktop is hard to beat, and you can get great, weird sounds out of it. I prefer the Peak in overall sound, but you can't go wrong with the Hydrasynth, either.
@@TheNormalUniverse Hydra is very cool but can't do bass like the Peak, IMO. Less interesting filter and fx too. Really nice UI design, but if you were going to use one synth for all situations it's hard to look past the Peak. Only thing I'd like to have on the Peak is oscillator FM on the front panel and separate ADSR sliders for all the envelopes. But there's no space so I can't really complain.
You're mixing up the video's quality with the noise floor of Ricky's mic. And before you get critical, bear in mind this was made during lockdown in early 2020. It is unusually high when he's speaking, but maybe he had no choice of mic at this point - webcams were sold out worldwide on Amazon along with most other decent gear when this was made, as everyone scrambled to set up for working from home.
@@2112jonr I'm pretty sure Ricky would have a half decent mic in his studio. You could still apply a simple noise gate to the video so it cuts the mic when it detects no voice.

Excellent video, Peak is awesome and Ricky is great at explaining and a lovely guy

Effects section... the true power of this machine
You are very entertaining and describe things great... Looking forward to seeing more tutorials.
Thanks you've given me some ideas, i have a peak but its taken a bit of a back seat recently as I've attained a couple of new synths.
Great video with just so much I haven't used before. This synth just keeps growing on me.

Absolutely gorgeous Ricky. I'm gonna just leave this and clean the house!
Best explanation and demonstration of LFOs and modulation I've seen, thanks!
I love your videos man, please do more on the Novation Peak!
Glad you enjoyed this! 🙏
Finally they have some1 in these videos who knows what he is talkin about !!
i just got a peak last week, and this has been my go to vid today for ideas and getting to know the synth! thank you so much!
Great to hear!
Best video tutorial for make dope ambient sounds with the awesome Peak, thx a lot!
Glad you liked it!

8:47 ... I was talking to the screen just before this: “Try the SLEW. Try the SLEW.” Then you did. Like watching sports on tv, lol...

Great synth, a bit of menu diving but worth it. That filter is better than any of my analog gear. Great video
excellent tutorial. I love to create patches with just the effects on and no dry signal
my next synth, arriving mid Dec. Thanks Ricky!
I love this synth!!
More of these please! For bass design especially!
Omg at 18:03 when you cut the dry and turned wet effects up I laughed so dreamy and beautiful
Omg this is gold!
Waiting on my peak to come today, good timing boys

@Ricky Garcia-Vendor got it! Thanks.
Thanks so much , such cool creative design ideas , totally learnt so much and just totally enjoy these tutorials

love it amazing synth
Ordering one soon as Sweetwater receives more stock.
YOWZA!
I think Ricky just sold me a Peak!
Go for it g, you definitely wont regret it. It's my most used synth too

22:38 yeah that was beautiful
17:50 with my headphones! Woooah!
Great tutorial!
I think one could call him the „ Bob Ross of Synthiing“👍😉😁
Pretty much just forced me to pick one of these up locally. It was this or the Prologue. Now it's probably both.
Going to stop the video and actually go buy the Peak and then I'll follow along.
I freakin' LOVE Peak. Can I have one for Christmas?
@@holygeneration7 Duh.
fuuuuuu....nice patch! 10:55 Freezone 1995
Theres a used one good condition for £850 I'm gona get it.
If I could only pick one of my synths to do everything--The Peak would be it, closely followed by the Pro 2.
What do you think about Peak vs Hydrasynth? I think I prefer the Hydrasynth UI but the peak is so pretty

Or ‘atmospheric’, which is actually a word that exists. 😉
Perhaps we were aiming to achieve a more rounded, three-dimensional, spherical sound 😅🤷♂️
Ricky Tinez? That u?
He's been making these longer than he's been making them 😅
@@NovationTV That's crazy because I feel more like I do now, then I did when I got here.
See ya later oscillator =)
What really poor quality video from notation! Why is there background fan noise?
