right on man. i like that ride. it reminds me of the sdr-5k but a little slower and with one more large laser. so cool that that raven chassis has jumpjets. keep up the good work man. feel better.
yeah, I just bought this mech a few days ago. I've still got a stock engine so I'm going with ER L and ML with the machine guns with a whole ton of ammo.
The Raven has always been my favorite mech since the early days of Battletech. I love the speed and the agility combined with its ECM/BAP packages. My old time favorite loadout for the raven was a very un-Battletech thematic, cross tech loadout. 3x STRK4, 4 IS Medium Lasers, max speed and armor. Not sure if you can even build that in MWO as I long since gave up on that game. I do own a Raven in it, but couldn't even tell you which model it was at this point.
after blowing 9mil on this build, its actually really good. its fun to play. i like to flank for the 1st half of the match and then go in for the kills when armour is gone on most mechs. i get about 2-4kills per match.
When we had the 245 engine cap you saw these a bit. I ran mine with just some armor off the head, the 245 XL one more JJ and a full ton of MG ammo (we could not use half tons back then.) You could also change out the engine for a 200 standard, but then you move at 99 kph vs 124 or 121 with a 245 xl
Stop using the same song over and over and over again mate. It's old. I know you just do it because it's easy to shit out videos by just dragging and dropping clips onto the same timeline.
I've always liked the 4x over the 3l for it's ballistic hard point. It was one of the first lights to mount a guass or ac 20 once you work around the xl 200 and two heat sinks.
Why would you put the blanket above yourself? To watch it from below? Imho it make more sense to put it over yourself so it can actually keep you warm.
So many players find in the raven a comfort pick, and then they bring them in droves to faction play where they are promptly turned into fried chicken.
Dionisio Herculeo Persepoles Yeeeah idk about that, With how many assaults there are, its so easy to pick up a huginn and volley srm6's into their backs.
Well, in the TT, MGs are meant for anti-infantry work. It´s quite ironic how well they do against mechs in this game. But it makes sense, once the armor is gone, the inner components are vulnerable.
@@RedEyedModok As an update, after Civil War I started running 2xHvyLL+6xLMGs. Heavies hit real hard although the burn duration isn't great. The LMGs do a fair bit less damage, but with tighter spread and extra range it allows you to pressure or kill confirm pretty well even at a distance. Personal preference, both work quite well.
@@TheInsomniaddict ever utilize a Targeting computer? I use one on my Mauler for weapon velocity and extra crit percentage. I once head shot and killed a mech I couldnt even see. Just fired at his position up in the Eerie (eagles nest) on the Desert Level. Next thing I see is battle report saying head shot crit and death. Lol thanks targeting computer. Yah I concur with you on the LMG's I prefer the range to damage and still causes cockpit rattle.
@@RedEyedModok I do use TCs, although I usually treat them as optimization equipment rather than planning on using them in a build. Eg, I have a 4xERPPC Warhawk Prime that just wrecks. Thanks to focusing heavily on heat quirks I can run with a fair fewer DHSes. I use at least a TC3 on it and it might actually be a TC5... I haven't changed it in about 3 years since I can easily do 1k+ games on it. TC1s are generally worth it if BAP won't do you much good; it becomes less worth it as you increase its size unless you're specifically running pinpoint or pulse builds IIRC.
@@TheInsomniaddict Thanks for the info. I've only ever used the IS targeting comp and only on the Mauler back in the day. At first I was only interested in it fir the additional zoom lol. But once I found out it increased velocity and crit chance I was hooked. I dont always utilize it since my aim is so terrible to begin with lol. For some reason unknown only a limited amount of IS mechs can use the IS targeting comp. Where as any clan mech can run one if they got the space and weight allowance. Was somewhat surprised that A PPC's shot velocity could be increased but Heck why not. I mean how realistic is a stumpy Mech FPS anyway. Lol.
Having no LB10X, you compensate by taking Sir Shotgun with you XD Would that Raven be legit with 2 AC2s? Or... a RAC2! Totally want to try that when CW update goes on.
XL 200, 4 tons of ammo, 2 AC 2's, 1 JJ and 1 SL. I started to run this way back in 2012 and from time to time still run it. (back then we had 3 times the range for AC's.) You need range for it to work and a commando will tear you up if it finds you. still it is fun as hell.

I can't wait for the new tech to come out and the Piranha to be released.
how do you think it would do with a 2x lpl build by taking off the mgs striping the left arm and maybe dropping the two heat sinks?
I think they took 20% of the laser duration away from this mech :(

DraconisMarchVII Its his Daily Dose music man, get over it.
That's just a shitty excuse for laziness.
Then you can not fucking watch his videos? lmao
I'd like to watch them if I didn't have to listen to the same fucking song over and over and over.
Give him some new royalty-free music then
Sometimes I potato this mech with an XL170, Single heat sinks, a Gauss Rifle, a jump jet, and two medium lasers. So fun!

Something about Timberwolves... I was bout ready to jump out of my skin at 10:14.
Ive been preaching the RVN4X for ageeesss. Its laser perks are SO good
What is it with you and shooting friendly Cicada's? : p lol.
Thanks for the dose - take a couple doses of schnapps and call it a day. Get well.

I dont think so, my 2X racks up a lot of damage in faction warfare.

I have a Shadowcat set up with a similar build, 2xERLL + 6xMGs. Playstyle is very similar. Quite powerful and unexpected.
Awesome set up.

You could put in an XL275 from the bushwacker by removing a DHS (the Heat Management is insanely high)
I would not shave armor off of legs on a light...

wheres the rac2 elemental?!
I don not own any Urbies currently.
But the idea sounds great.
Try it with 2x LPLas. You have to take a smaller engine, but it's fucking murderous.
