Chapeau. I rode the Valley of Tears in April but on my Brompton (long story as EJ refused to accept my full frame bike in a bicycle bag (not box) despite bike bike add bag complying with all their regulations). GC is so very beautiful especially camping at Corral de los Joncos just below Pico de las Nieves and over looking Roque Nublo and Bentayga with Tiede on Tenerife in the back ground. The roads in GC are great for cycling but there are many off road trails as well which are even better, getting you to remote places and views that are simply stunning. I also stayed on the east of the island near Valsequillo just west of Telde. A very beautiful and non touristy area. Can't wait to go back but flights there are now so expensive!!!
Many thanks for your comment Alex, waooo well done was hard on a road bike I can not imagine on a Brompton. Happy you enjoy your trip there, beautiful island to explore by bike.
Gracias.
I put on 40T cassette for Gran Canaria. It worked really well for my mediocre fitness :) Check out my video from riding to Pico De Las Nieves. I'm also editing another video from the loop around the whole island which I will upload in the upcoming days. I didn't do Valley of Tears yet. I'll be back in the summer. Thanks for the cool video!
Thanks for your comment :) Pico de las Nieves is a great route. I will check out the video, I also made a video of this route, I will compare them ^^ maybe we did the same one.
One silly question - where do you leave your cycling bag when you're around island or cruising between different Canary islands. I'm planning trip for first time, but I want to be 2-3 days on Gran Canaria, few days on La Palma, most of the time on Tenerife ?
thanks for your comment, normally I leave my bike bag in my accommodation or hotel, but if you don't want to carry it from island to island might be better to pack your bike in a carton box and then get one in your final destination, you can easily buy a bike box in a bike shop for cheap.
@@MrJx4000 The B&W box weighs 9.7 kg and together with the bike it would be around 18 kg, I flew with EasyJet that allows you to have a maximum of 32 kg for your bike luggage, so still plenty of room :)
