I got goose bumps all over!! I think Geoff's voice is even lower than usual, Eli's voice can't be beat, J None is always great, Layne is just the best and I never heard Cesar sing like this before, all growly!
This interpretation shows exactly why Geoff, Layne, and Eli chose J None and Cesar to join the group over the years. The original 3 sonically are basically perfection and have been for quite some time. Now they’re flexing their growth in other ways. J None and Cesar are improving exponentially, which is insane bc they were both fabulous from the get go.
I'm blown away by how *deep* the voice on the other fellow is (sorry, don't know his name). WOW! EDIT: just learned his name is Geoff. Dang, man, your voice is *PHENOMENAL.*
It took me a couple times watching both videos again, but I love that they paid such attention to detail that everyone is wearing the same outfit/has the same makeup as they did in "My Mother Told Me". Geoff's is slightly different but still very clearly the same style. I shouldn't be surprised, but seriously so impressed.
Man, so many things going on here! First, it's great to see J. None back, I miss his voice. Second, this is the second Viking musical they've done, and it blows "My Mother Told Me" out of the water! The scenery, costumes, makeup and special effects are the quality of a motion picture. Finally, the last verse? J. None was literally spitting bars! I've never seen anything like that from Voiceplay. That's why it was so great to see J. None return. 5 stars all day. 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟
I listened and listened, and listened again ... and there were the lowest of low notes that are barely audible ... impressive, Geoff. I know they were supposed to be subtle and that they could have been louder. SO impressed. Not to diss the rest of the group. I mean, I wouldn't listen unless ya'll were absolutely stellar. But I love a super-low bass. It's my thing.
I think the Valkyries took this song to Valhalla and Odin listens to it. The clarity of the voices, the harmony, the freestyle part from J-None. The visual !!! It's fantastic how you focus on each other during the song!!! A very good follow-up to the song " "My Mother Told Me". There is a level where you can't highlight everything. Now VoicePlay has reached that level again. One word: Perfect! PS: Of course, a special thanks once again to everyone on the other side of the camera for the amazing work!!! 🔥🔥🔥🎼🗡❤🔥
Pretty cool how Eli can hold the rasp going up that high…And there are some insanely low notes in this one from Geoff…cool rap from J. None too!…great stuff as always from everyone! Definitely need headphones on for all these great acapella groups!.

Everybody absolutely killed it as usual, but I just cannot get over Cesar's tone at 1:25. That rasp and aggressiveness, just amazing! It's not a sound we hear from you often, but I for one want more of it!
I listened to it this morning with my boys. My eldest - 5y.o -said “this man wasn’t in My Mother Told Me” showing Cesar. “They met after and became warrior friends then?” ❤
I heard the bass voice and immediately knew it was him ! His voice vibrates in the chest and add a sensation of calm and peacefulness that's incredible
All of you are so talented. Doesn’t matter what style it’s in .the fact is your performance was true to yourself you have brought joy to people that is the greatest gift. Be proud of yourselves.❤
I like the different characters on display: - Eli: intense but in control - Cesar: madman berserker - J: serious dreamer - Geoff: creepy and sadistic - Layne: just doing a job
I like the different characters on display: Eil Jacobson: very dark rustic with forceful gritt Cesar de la Rosa: matching the earth elements but mastering the darkness J None: very connected core matching the spirits of light and darkness Geoff: brought us up the underworld on earth Lyane Stein: mastering the all the elements with the sounds of the viking
Great display but honestly; "Creepy and Sadistic" would be pink unicorns and fluffy candy clouds near what Geoff actually has coming out of his mouth. Man's voice is a Giger painting in itself :D

Just casually looking for new music, Always been fond of acapella and I was happy to find something that wasnt the standard christmas carols or pop songs. this was AWESOME to listen to.
Where do I even begin. The backdrops, the sneers, the make-up, the f*ck-it-all attitude, the INTENSITY. The grit, the acting, the transitions, the lighting, the vocals!! You all shine in different ways in this and it is super cool. I feel more bad-ass and brave for just listening to it and watching it. There's incredible power behind this track. I am super super impressed with this one. J is the perfect guest singer for this one, as an awesome follow up to My Mother Told Me. Each of you looks just so FIERCE and deranged and I am here for it. “I don’t know how you are gonna top this one.” Isn’t that what pretty much everyone said after “My Mother Told Me”? And after “Hoist the Colors?” And after “The Dragonborn Comes?” Their epicness isn’t going off the scale. It’s creating new scales!
Cesar is such a good addition to the group. He is so animated and gives all to the performance with his voice and face, it's so fun to watch and listen
This is my favorite VoicePlay song to date. all the vocals, the percussion from layne, that *fat* sustained B0 Subharmonic from Geoff and i may have caught him going even lower. Not to mention J's insane rap section in the bridge, it's all perfect. I love you guys and your music. VALHALLA CALLS!!!
"Lo, there do I see my father. Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my people, Back to the beginning! Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them, In the halls of Valhalla! Where the brave may live forever!" ― Michael Alexander, Risen from Ashes. This is my heart! Thanks Voiceplay!

Home free is better!
A capella this is not. There is a synth track for fuck sake
By a mile!
uuugh I love this, and Geoff's dark baritone just makes it sooo much better.
every video with J-none feels like coming home, a puzzle completed, fullfilment
this.... so true❤
J .None walks in with the others, it felt like they thought: “Welcome home brother”
J None has something that just ties Voiceplay's sound together. Voiceplay is phenomenal regardless but J None adds something that is so perfect and amazing.
How/what do you mean?
Because as a person who knows none of these dudes by name, I couldn't (for the life of me) point at one person being or having been more of an addition than the others 😂
Or is that (also) not even what you meant/implied?
@@pandareijgah3820 well the reason I am saying this I because J-none used to be a member of voiceplay for a very long time, but left the group to join the army and perform his duty, now everytime he is in a video with voiceplay it like the team being back togheter :)
Yeah I love Geoff's lows, but damn Eli's highs are on another level. Gave me shivers.
He's low key my favorite 😂
i just dont understand how anyone can hear eli screaming to the heavens on high and not seeing that he's the GOAT.
Geoff proves yet again why he’s the best bass singer of all time
AMEN! 🙌🏼
Please do not forget about Erik Holloway (TahatBassVoice). They're in the same league.
@@Z04RD nobody is in the same league as geoff
@@wisdomplaysbtd6144 I think this is called "sleeping on" someone....
@@Z04RD I actually prefer Erik.
This. Was. Insane.
Geoff’s extra extra lows
J’s rap
Eli and Cesar crushing the highs
Layne’s perfect percussionings
The impeccable arrangement and stylistic choices
This was a masterpiece, guys!!
That rap solo man….. great job I’ll NEVER forget this song.
You guys are NOT ready. This is the coolest Voiceplay song to date
Frankly, if it's even half as good as Mountain King, it will make my whole month.
Don't forget to check out the original at miracle of sound.
It was the same words about nothing else matters😂
@@darkestwind191 I mean, I still think Hoist and Mountain King are the coolest things they've ever done. But there's also something special about hearing a new song that you haven't heard before.
Missed J. None a whole bunch, excited to see him and everyone else kill it on this one.
As a soldier of war I would have loved to have this as my war cry on the battlefield. Simply amazing!!!! J thank you for your service and to all the brothers in arms!
I salute you, and thank you for your service
3:04 that deep and smooth voice, a light lifting of eyebrow and finally the evil semi-smile. Aaahhhh! Geoff gives a perfect perfomance as usual.😍
His voice makes my knees tremble.
Happy to see Geoff reprising his role as a Viking war horn
A passionate battle cry - a flawless rendering by the most exciting a cappella group. All wrapped up in extraordinary visuals. Perfect!
You guys are not ready for this one. Trust me. It is something else🔥
ok .. err aye you where right ... fecking hell !!! :)
I got goose bumps all over!! I think Geoff's voice is even lower than usual, Eli's voice can't be beat, J None is always great, Layne is just the best and I never heard Cesar sing like this before, all growly!
The fact that these types of bands don’t even use INSTRUMENTS is incredible🤩 amazing job guys.
this genre is called acapella, if you want to find more groups like them
Their voices ARE their instruments.
When Valhalla calls, Voiceplay answers.
Truly amazing.
This is the best cover I have heard. The low octaves he hits is seriously impressive!
Can we take a moment to appreciate just how high Eli gets 1:52-2:01. This whole song is mindblowing
We needed more of his high end more for more songs like this, he is the accurate rockn’roll voice that I ever heard.
my favorite part!
I'm blown away by how *deep* the voice on the other fellow is (sorry, don't know his name). WOW! EDIT: just learned his name is Geoff. Dang, man, your voice is *PHENOMENAL.*
@@DrachenGothik666 : that Geoff, what a bassist voice, so powerful but calming to hear his bass.
Eli has such a great voice.
Cesar's wearing Jose's cloak from MMTM, too.
omg that B0 was absolutely insane
Man, so many things going on here! First, it's great to see J. None back, I miss his voice. Second, this is the second Viking musical they've done, and it blows "My Mother Told Me" out of the water! The scenery, costumes, makeup and special effects are the quality of a motion picture. Finally, the last verse? J. None was literally spitting bars! I've never seen anything like that from Voiceplay. That's why it was so great to see J. None return. 5 stars all day. 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟
Voiceplay is so underrated. Every time you think, "dang, there's no way they can top themselves now", they look at you and say, "hold my beer" 😂
*Ale
Or is hold my mead
I am still holding like 15 of em...
Me too
I have 16 here come and get um
From one spiritual warrior to the amazing vocal warriors of Valhalla, thank you so much for making this breathtaking song. I literally listen to this one almost every morning to help me feel like a warrior, a champion, a fighter, so i can fight through each day head strong & spiritually motivated. Keep staying strong my brothers & may the spirit of God be with you all!
Everybody absolutely killed it as usual, but I just cannot get over Cesar's tone at 1:25. That rasp and aggressiveness, just amazing! It's not a sound we hear from you often, but I for one want more of it!
Maybe Voiceplay's best ever, which is a ludicrously high bar. Epic seems like a gross understatement.
Did you hear that smooth bass sound , Geoff just blows mind the way it is effortless for him. That’s why I am obsessed ❤
I listened to it this morning with my boys. My eldest - 5y.o -said “this man wasn’t in My Mother Told Me” showing Cesar. “They met after and became warrior friends then?” ❤
Tell your boy Cesar must have known Jose who was in My Mother Told Me and held him in high honor, because he is wearing his cloak.
We knew Geoff wasn't entirely human, but now I feel confident in calling out his true species.
Dude's a frost giant.
Son of a Dragonborn who mated with a Jotnar.
True dat! Viking Geoff is one scary dude.
He looks awesome in this video.
Almost, but Geoff's voice is deeper.
I like the different characters on display:
- Eli: intense but in control
- Cesar: madman berserker
- J: serious dreamer
- Geoff: creepy and sadistic
- Layne: just doing a job
I like the different characters on display:
Eil Jacobson: very dark rustic with forceful gritt
Cesar de la Rosa: matching the earth elements but mastering the darkness
J None: very connected core matching the spirits of light and darkness
Geoff: brought us up the underworld on earth
Lyane Stein: mastering the all the elements with the sounds of the viking
@@Machete_Kissed_Ya is anyone ever truly ready for Geoff's voice? Especially at its most creepy and sadistic...
Great display but honestly; "Creepy and Sadistic" would be pink unicorns and fluffy candy clouds near what Geoff actually has coming out of his mouth. Man's voice is a Giger painting in itself :D
Just doing his job😂😂
I'm more of a Geoff inside, but outside I am Layne and J
Eli hitting that " Me!!!!" I literally jumped! Well done lads! Bravo!!!
fellas fellas fellas, i must say this is by far my most favorite cover that y'all have ever done, Valhalla is one of my favorite songs to listen to when i'm at my grandparents chopping down trees and now y'all have made it have a lil taste of the song of "where i belong' from Hercules when y'all sang from deestiny bit and i was completely surprised by the sudden rap bit which was perfect, you guys are amazing keep up the amazing work!!
Every time I think these guys must have reached the peak of their incredible abilities, they go and blow the roof off again. I'll never understand how they do it, but I'm sure glad they do!
The fact that Gavin gets enough respect that others cover his songs is amazing.
And that solo by J. None was SICK!!!
I can honestly see this cover as you guys swearing fealty to Gavin's Clan of Vikings
i listened to this in choir class once, loved it, didnt listen to it for 3 weeks, got a library book that mentioned Valhala quite a bit, remembered this song, and decided to listen to it again..love it still
No other group has this level of quality in arrangments, costumes, cinematography, and personality. The GOATS of acapella!
Pentatonix
@@NkemUtomi is kind of a given that they are the top tier and the father of modern acapella groups, so I'm putting them in a different tier. But yeah they are probably better overshadowed
Overall lol
I dont want Valhalla to call me, i want voiceplay to call me instead. This is absolutely incredible!! I feel so hyped after listening to this. Great job yall, thank you so much for sharing yalls talent with all of us. Also im so glad to see j none again.
I’m so energized by this song and I am ready for anything that comes my way I feel the energy of Vikings in this song I love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Epic! Fantastic and gorgeous! You all became giants while singing the song.
Layne, it was great to hear you sing. Eli gets huge as he sings.
Cesar's voice suits any song.
J.None, the rap in between was incredible.
And Geoff... His voice calls me to fight. Millions of people will no doubt heed the call of this voice.🛡️⚔️🙏🙏❤️❤️
🤗🤗❤️🙏😘😘😘
Это качественно новый уровень. И раньше ни к вокалу, ни к аранжировке не было претензий, композиции были превосходны, но сейчас - просто восторг!
Totally amazing. I love Pentatonix with all of my heart, but not so much so since Avi left. Mitch is sill the bomb.
But you guys are better. That hurts my heart to say, but you are. The bass is so much better, more relaxed in the purity.
The song choices, the super low bass ... I just can't. It's so brilliant!. Home Free is my second fav. What can I say? I'm a southern girl.
You guys are outstanding in every way. I'm glad I found you in the rabbit hole.
Dude, this feels like something that would come out to hype up everyone for the movie of the year that’s about to come out! This is absolutely insane, amazing! Jaw dropping! VP just keeps upping the bar! EVERYTHING they put out is pure gold! I don’t know how they keep getting better! They are so talented I mean they have to reach a point where they’re maxed out and can’t get any better… right? I feel like they are already at the peak, best of the best… How do they keep getting better? It’s mind blowing. Fantastic! I’m going to go listen to this 1,000 more times now
I had seen this on Patreon weeks ago and I immediately fell in love with it. The scenery, that BASS, the RAP. Perfection!
Adding to my spotify asap and blasting it forever !! BEST ONE YET !!!
I would not have expected a rap verse to happen, and I would not have expected it to work. But it did and it did and I'm happy. Great song.
Let's not forget to praise the sixth member of Voiceplay - Jose's original robe had a life of its own on Cesar's shoulders 🥰
What about this: Heartful of Ghosts by Ville Vallo, we want Geoff to take full lead, high harmony by: Eil Jacobson and Cesar de la Rosa, collaborate with Tim Foust will used chest and growl for the bassline.
+
the rap felt like such a surprise moment that immediantly got my whole body moving. freakin amazing
tiktokから飛んできて、ずっと聞いてます。心が揺さぶられる歌、音、素敵すぎます。
One of Layne's best arrangements yet!! I was gonna joke that he didn't let Geoff out of the second octave, but with two power baritones in the mix, it just WORKS!
This song is FIRE. The energy you guys bring to each and every production is already astounding, but this one said "Hold my glogg..." to those other productions and amped it up by a thousand. I'm blown away by the vocals, arrangement, and overall production by this one. Way to keep pushing your boundaries, guys!
...or the Fairy SongMother
Just casually looking for new music, Always been fond of acapella and I was happy to find something that wasnt the standard christmas carols or pop songs. this was AWESOME to listen to.
Welcome to the VP fandom/rabbithole! So much good music awaits you!
What a performance by each and every single one of you!
The make-up team did a spectacular job to take what they did on MMTM and just improve on it. Then I haven't even mentioned how cool those LED screens look with the chosen backdrops and those TRANSITIONS. I am in awe.
I'm so happy to be able to support this. Thank you guys SO much!
There are so many elements in this that I can find words for! The masterful arrangement, the BACKGROUNDS, makeup and the vocals? JUST. NO. WHY Y'ALL GOTTA BE SO FIERCE? AND EXTREMELY AMAZING AT IT? My knees buckled after my first listen and I had to hold onto a dryer to save whatever soul I had left. ELI AND CESAR = ANGST LOOKS GOOD ON YOU! J - RAP GOD GEOFF - RUMBLING BUMBILING EARTHSHAKE and LAYNE - MASTERMIND Bravo to all of you! I don't know how you are gonna top this one, but i'm here for it. Thank you for sweating this one out for us!
This is the one of the best song that I ever heard, we needed more of this songs covers like this.
“I don’t know how you are gonna top this one.”
Isn’t that what pretty much everyone said after “My Mother Told Me”? And after “Hoist the Colors?” And after “The Dragonborn Comes?” Their epicness isn’t going off the scale. It’s creating new scales!
I have no words to describe how much I like it
Cesar is such a good addition to the group.
Ooo can you time stamp for me where the B0 is? My listening device is not the best so it's hard for me to pinpoint where
He did go lower...listen to the slide up he did at around 0:38....Play the song a bit slower
@@Amandasera I gotcha, it’s at 0:25
@@Mei391 yup, that’s what I was talking about. Maybe Bb0

This is OFFICIALLY my favorite version of this song. Phenomenal!
Geoff’s little menacing smirks! 😂 Well done again!
Yes, love the acting they do as well. In "My Mother Told Me" it was Eli who was terrifying. This time it's Geoff. But they all do badass pretty well... In the dystopian future videos too.
