You can also find a lot of kitbashing stuff for your miniatures, shields of various type and shape, helmets, pauldrons etc. Something to remember if you want to run custom or obscure chapter/regiment and you can't find the right parts in the standard boxes.
'Its your game you figure it out" made me snort my coffee! so typical of Uncle A, giving us all the ideas but not telling us what to think, that is up to us. Brilliant!
My wife's been telling me this very thing for years. For my present financial situation I find it slightly pricey some times (eBay cheaper for me) but it's definitely a good place to shop!
Depends on what yoyr looking for, ive ordered some primarchs from etsy, lovely sculpts and a fraction of the price of GWs primarch sculpts, around £30 each including shipping, compared to GWs £90 per primarch!
Thank you for bringing a focus to all the amazing independent content creators on Etsy. I've been trading on there since 2016 and this is the first time I've seen someone talk about the marketplace in relation to tabletop games. You have made my morning :)
Just FYI. Etsy is also a treasure trove of vendors that make amazing, hand-made movie prop detail level things from fantasy and sci-fi movies. You can get like hand-drawn and weathered maps from The Hobbit, or replica Skyrim potions in actual bottles, or spell books, you name it. Any item you can think of from any movie or game genre, chances are somebody on Etsy makes it. Particularly Tolkien, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.
I'm kinda surprised that this wasn't a video before. Etsy is great, you can do full commissions on Etsy for figures and they can be way cheaper then the the more known painters.
I've been using Etsy for about five months now as a place to find some very nice terrain. It added a whole load of things to my list of things i want like hexagonal sci-fi crates, cool tower ruins, and my favorite piece of terrain, a 3d printed cobblestone fence "bunker" on top of this really nice rock. Im glad Uncle Atom is helping further the community on their, i know a ton of Etsy sellers who deserve to have their work looked at more.
Got my birthday coming up. Was looking around watched the episode with 3d printing and decided my box room not big enough for 3d printer. Now this episode, going to be a fun birthday. Thank you!
Not sure how big your room is but something like an Ender 3 takes up about a 2x2 space (maybe a little less). I but mine on a small nightstand and keep all the supplies in the drawers.
I am actually still working on my video about buying things through etsy. It's very important to buy from sellers who provide correct info. There are some people on there that are kinda sneaky about hiding the scale details of the 3D printed minis they sell. So basically they show the preview image from something done in 32 MM scale but you get small version that is probably roughly 25 MM scale. So in D&D terms you pay for what clearly seems like a huge sized creature and just get a large one. Maybe people will claim that buyer beware but the line of miniatures was designed for a certain scale in mind and clearly the preview images are in that scale. "Licensed" printer or not just don't buy D&D minis from people who don't provide clear information about scale. It's probably less of a concern for wargaming since this sort of thing isn't put up with. I can't believe this person had such good feedback through Etsy.
I have so many acrylic tokens for X-Wing, and the manoeuvre templates and trays. Also recently found 3D printed terrain for Imperial Assault. Great resource 👍
Some of the 3D printed stuff is being sold by people who don't have the licenses for it, so that's a thing, but I've been noticing a lot of this stuff for a while. Glad to see it getting mentioned by someone with a voice in the community.
I have gotten some good miniatures, stls, and Terrain from Etsy, such as heavily damaged sci-fi shipping container, scatter terrain, and waiting on a female medic for my Cadians.
This is a good shout. I got some cheap terrain from Etsy in the UK and will be going back soon! Did not realise that it was mainly for throw cushions and scented candles, so it's got that going for it.
Used to sell painted armies on E-Bay till the taxes got added and they started tracking you for the Gov. Not sold a thing in a few years through them. May have to look into this.
Great video. I actually made one of those rollers with a dremel and a PVC pipe. It took 6 hours and made a huge mess. I love it, but if I was to do it again I would definitely look into a printed one on etsy.
I have gotten lots of tokens, counters and dials for Age of Sigmar it has been awesome. Awesome to get terrain all painted and ready to go or to get stuff 3D printed without needing a printer.
I've bought some of the best DnD minis on Etsy. But also cool stuff like paint storage for mini painting, texture rollers and greenstuff. Lots of big company actually sell on Etsy and the paypal paiment Etsy allows is very cool
This is a great video! I run a local game store that has recently added in a 3D Printshop that's going to feature licensed prints from some incredible design studios like Artisan Guild, Highland Miniatures, Asgard Rising, PrintYourMonsters and more-lots of which is going to be wargaming terrain and custom bases. One of our avenues is, just like Adam mentions, going to be Etsy :)
I got some battle gauges from Etsy. Saw a 3" one on a site for $15, went on Etsy got 6 matching obj markers, a 3" gauge, and a 9" movement gauge for $20 shipped.
I love etsy. I've gotten everything from commissioned oils paintings to 3d printed minis to a hand carved wooden ocarina... I ordered a 3d printed ship this morning.
I use Etsy all the time. I can buy terrain pieces for a fraction of the price and they are all well made. Im saving myself money everytime. Typical terrain set will cost me upwards of £30. If i go GW and buy sane amount of bulk, im looking at close to £150. Its a no brainer.
I've been loving Etsy for wargaming! My favorite are the Wound dials. It cleans up the table by not having oceans of wound tokens everywhere. I also really like the commission 3D printing since I don't have the space for a printer.
Great Video Atom. My buddy and I have been using Etsy for our wargaming for about year. All of the sellers I have dealt with have also been great. Very responsive.
Glad you posted a video like this brother...I have been buying minis and 3D printed projects from them for last two years...some are hit or miss, but totally happy overall
Just bought a 3D printed mini for legion over etsy for the first time a couple days ago. Definitely an abundance of cool stuff over there, though it isn't necessarily the most affordable resource. Excited to see how this experience goes!
Just recently bought an "Emperor's Champion" from Etsy. The picture looked amazing and was excited to have an original looking cast for my favorite model. Sadly the product on arrival wasn't nearly as detailed as it was marketed. I will still paint it up and use it, was just hoping for it to really stand out for the centerpiece of my Black Templars.
I remember i was so excited when i saw alot of things i wished to buy in the past, then looked at the shipping costs and my heart cracked. Safe to say, till today i havn't bought anything off there for terrain.
I've been buying terrain off Etsy for the last year or so. There are some real hidden treasures in there, just be wary of where stuff ships from (Especially if like me you live in the UK!) Also a lot of sellers are also active on eBay too. My favourite Etsy purchase has been my very own Star gate!
The beer tokens are for a board game called Taverns Of Tiefenfall. Boardgame and LCG accessories are so huge right now. Every game has someone making biys to bling your tokens. Etsy does tend to be expensive. Unless you are flush, Ebay is still king. Although.. Wish, is also worth a look. I've been sucked into Warlords new 15mm ACW release and 75 15mm trees of various types is an incredible bargain, and they are superb.
Looking into some 3D printed minis just for player characters for D&D. Etsy has some phenomenal deals on unpainted minis that I'll be looking into when I get paid again.
Hey there, long time viewer/subscriber, first time commenter. I have used Etsy for this and can confirm! the terrain scene there is on point both quality and cost. Also I now need some texture rollers haha! Thanks for the great content, keep it coming!
Thanks for the video, Uncle Atom! I knew about Etsy wargaming stuff; I had no idea about the MDF area terrain bases though, they're perfect for my upcoming Kashyyyk terrain project. Thanks a bunch!
Glad to see you covering this. I've been heavily using Etsy since resin printing took off but this serves as a good reminder of the other wargaming products available there as well. I'd be interested in your thoughts on Fiverr since that is sort of the next step beyond Etsy. Don't just have someone print your stuff comission them to sculpt the entire model for you. Lots of good tools out there for wargamers these days.
The shipping varies by the seller as each seller handles all their own orders. Etsy is merely a marketplace they aren't involved in processing or shipping.
I bought several 3D printed ships from Etsy that were done in the same scale as Axis and Allies: War at Sea. The game itself is out of production and the miniatures are increasingly hard to come by and thus rather expensive. The ones I purchased were of very good quality and the seller even included several ships that they deemed as "mistakes" and were not going to sell, but dang if those were not great quality as well. Etsy is a surprisingly great place to find all sorts of great stuff for tabletop gaming.
You can find some cool wargaming options anywhere. I recently picked up a small wall shelf about 12'' in length cheap and I'm going to be turning it into a sci-fi wall for example.
I've been running a commission painting service through etsy for a few years. Its a pretty decent platform for sellers as well. I'm about to branch out and make a shop selling soaps and candles and now i have the idea of selling wargaming soaps and candles. Maybe when conventions reopen I can help wage the battle against convention stink.

Literally just this week I've been talking to a creator on Etsy who casts custom pauldrons with your chapter's icon on them, or custom helmets for your space marines.
I have some absoloutly awesome minis from Etsy,i have managed to get "replacement" minis for War of The Ring game by Ares from Etsy, also some great other additions to it as well.
Yeah I got a couple rollers I haven’t yet to try yet. I do have some awesome game accessories. And some chests crates and barrel terrain I use regularly
This is super awesome! Etsy is wonderful for both sellers and buyers. I've sold a ton of finished terrain on Etsy. It's a really nice place to sell stuff. They are super out there so they take a hefty commission so price accordingly! That said, as a buyer, you can also find nice deals!
I love that you are sharing this. A lot of us crafters are selling wargaming stuff on Etsy. There is definitely not a shortage.
Awesome, I've been using Etsy to compliment my new AOS collection... love you guys! Some absolutely fantastic sculpts on there.
YOU DO THE EMPEROR PROUD, SON!
Hey! They're my little pink bricks! Does this mean I'm internet famous now??
Heck, I'm thinking of buying some for an upcoming project myself. Thanks for watching!
Etsy - "for the finest scented trees in all of wargaming"
Never occurred to me to go there before - thanks, as always, for the excellent guidance 👌
Yep. I've been getting gaming junk from folks on Etsy for years.
as a wargaming seller on Etsy, this video could not be more helpful for us!
You can also find a lot of kitbashing stuff for your miniatures, shields of various type and shape, helmets, pauldrons etc. Something to remember if you want to run custom or obscure chapter/regiment and you can't find the right parts in the standard boxes.
I really like the quality of your video and the crisp sound. Your voice is soothing and natural. Keep posting the helpful videos :)
'Its your game you figure it out" made me snort my coffee! so typical of Uncle A, giving us all the ideas but not telling us what to think, that is up to us. Brilliant!
Exactly this right here brings back memories
they are nuts if you type in "dungeons & dragons" theres lots of stuff come up. or even "miniatures" and you would be shocked how much comes up.
Etsy has been a great 'secret' gaming supply resource for a fair while. I'm glad you're making it more widely known.
Thank you for bringing a focus to all the amazing independent content creators on Etsy. I've been trading on there since 2016 and this is the first time I've seen someone talk about the marketplace in relation to tabletop games. You have made my morning :)
As someone that sells wargaming stuff on Etsy thanks for spreading the word man!
Beer tokens? I thought the wine/cheese tokens from Gale Force 9 was genius, but now this?
My life is complete.
Just FYI. Etsy is also a treasure trove of vendors that make amazing, hand-made movie prop detail level things from fantasy and sci-fi movies. Thanks will scope that out !
I've gotten some textured rollers and dear god do I love them!
I'm kinda surprised that this wasn't a video before. Etsy is great, you can do full commissions on Etsy for figures and they can be way cheaper then the the more known painters.
and certainly a better deal than the pricetags you see on ebay's infamous PrO pAiNtEd models lol
Just bought a hill giant from etsy to practice painting on instead of the pricey gw Version the first go around
thats not a bad shout tbf
3d resin print?
Yeah it looks fantastic too
I've been using Etsy for about five months now as a place to find some very nice terrain. I've been using Etsy for years now. Great for terrain. It's also taken stride as a 3d Printer's market place.
I've done a fair bit of business through Etsy recently for 3D printed wargaming stuff. Some great stuff for Battletech in particular!
Lots of stuff for board games too on Etsy, inserts, tokens, upgrades and much more

Seems suspicious. Someone check if Uncle Atom has a scented candle shop on Etsy!
My candles would smell like CA glue and basement. Probably not popular. Thanks for watching!
@@tabletopminions A CA Accelerator scented candle could be nice.
"Yum, smells like plastic glue!"
-thud-
@@tabletopminions Uncle Atomiser Essential Oils. It's a million dollar idea.
I have been using etsy pretty much exclusively for wargaming stuff for years. There is some amazing stuff there.
are you uk? can you give me some etsy shops? or users
This information is going to cost me a lot of money. :'(
A moment of appreciation for the nice lighting job in this video.

I just bought some custom Space Marine shoulder pads off of Etsy. They are really nice!
Microworld games in the US set up a Etsy UK store so the VAT could be paid at source
When I first got into miniatures games it was Star Wars X-wing. And Etsy was great for finding aftermarket storage and range rulers etc.
I had honestly never considered this before - thank you!
Glad to see Etsy is getting some recognition! There's loads of great hobby stuff on there.
I got my bases on etsy! Really affordable and the seller worked with me to make exactly what I wanted in the sizes and quantity!
etsy has been the place that has actually opened me up to all these different folk making amazing models and I'm all for it
Thanks for spreading the love for etsy's gaming section!
2:49 - Thanks for the shoutout! We look forward to bringing you more 🔥
I got some battle gauges from Etsy. Saw a 3" one on a site for $15, went on Etsy got 6 matching obj markers, a 3" gauge, and a 9" movement gauge for $20 shipped.
I bought a bunch of MDF bases for Hail Caesar off etsey! Also great for board game organization tools
I love etsy. I've gotten everything from commissioned oils paintings to 3d printed minis to a hand carved wooden ocarina...

I picked up six texture rollers and a mini for about $40.00 shipped. They were 3D printed and actually really good.
Etsy is where I got just a stack of excellent Kroot heads for conversions. Really some great stuff on there.

Some time ago I got some really amazing miniatures from Lost Kingdom on etsy, there's a lot of cool stuff there
I've gotten all sorts of cool KillTeam status dice, markers, points trackers, etc. from Etsy.
lol I posted that before I got to the part about the MrLazer dice. Those are the ones I got and can confirm they are great.

Oh my god, I spent hours trying to find those kill team dice! Lo and behold, "Kill team" is not in the title! -__-
Probably trying to avoid GW's lawyer Kill Team

Just bought some terrain on Etsy for Star Wars Legion and it was great! There are folks that make things on Etsy that sell extra things for gamers.
My local game store has a bunch of Star Wars Legion terrain for their tables with pieces from Etsy. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Etsy can take quite a while to ship, but with that in mind it is very useful! Basically a custom direct to deliver 3d printer.

I bought a Keeper of Secrets proxy off Etsy a few weeks ago. Really great model, would recommend!
Yeah I have been getting minis and other 3d printed stuff off of there. Just shop around and you can find some great prices
You can find some cool wargaming options anywhere. I recently picked up a small wall shelf about 12'' in length cheap and I'm going to be turning it into a sci-fi wall for example.
Haha, my favorite terrain makers are actually on etsy Line of Sight Terrain! They do table ready terrain for dirt cheap!
I've been running a commission painting service through etsy for a few years. Its a pretty decent platform for sellers as well. I'm about to branch out and make a shop selling soaps and candles and now i have the idea of selling wargaming soaps and candles. I've had my family suggest Etsy to sell some of the terrain I make. It's kinda funny to me that you posted this right now. I'll have to look into it more now, thanks for the timing of the vid. :)
It's pretty quick and easy to setup an Etsy shop. No recurring fees, fees are per listing and on the sales. The biggest issue is people finding your items in the sea of Etsy. Can take a while to get traction. A lot comes down to getting sales and reviews to bump your placement on searches unless you have something very unique.
I was on Etsy last night eying those dice! Thanks for another timely bit of content.
Yup, good stuff, dice, dioramas, original art, love it
Love the t-Shirt. That was my son's first Oshcon, IIRC.
So Atom when are you gonna tell us about your adventures in 3D printing?
Such a good place to find many ressources for hobby.
If you play gloomhaven, the "dashboards" available on etsy are an incredibly useful tool and clear up a lot of table space.
Don't feel bad, Uncle Atom...we _all_ have some of those trees we're embarrassed to drop on the table.
Literally just this week I've been talking to a creator on Etsy who casts custom pauldrons with your chapter's icon on them, or custom helmets for your space marines.
As an Etsy shareholder I appreciate and approve this video 🤘

What an awesome vid. I'd never thought of Etsy for this kinda stuff but now I've just spent an hour down the rabbit hole :)
