Wow..... I just got done making this 10 minutes ago..... it is wooohoo creamy and delicious! I am new to this pressure cooking craze (I am a over the road truck driver that got a instant pot as a gift and I am QUICKLY learning how perfect these cookers are for cooking on the road!) This is the second rice pudding recipe I have tried and I am done looking for my go to recipe.... it is yours! The other recipe called for twice as much milk and about half as much rice, but came out ALOT less creamy as your recipe. I am fortunate to be a Milk tanker driver, so I used VERY fresh milk straight from a dairy farm and some fresh cream straight from the milk processing plant 😁 yummy!
I personally don't call decadent delicious you should add an adjective to that word just for clarity because anybody can cook decadence doesn't take a lot of brains corporate America does it all the time sugar fat salt big deal
This is the way my neighbor made hers years ago and I never found anyone who made it as good. Thank you for giving me this long lost recipe. I am so happy!!!
I am so happy to find this recipe As it eliminates the need to stand at the stove and stir and stirn ster I can't do that anymore. I have 2 instant pots and they are amazing and make my ability to cook quality meals for my husband possible . Thank you for this recipe
My husband said this is the best rice pudding he has ever had! And I made it with artificial vanilla flavoring! (which is all I had at the time). I bought some vanilla bean paste the other day and will make the pudding again today with the paste.
Made this for my daughter because it reminded me of my great grandmother's rice pudding. Daughter now askes for this ALL the time. How much does she like it? She actually watched the video and now she makes it herself. Thanks for sharing. The little kid in me likes this too. Just like great grandma's.
I just wanted to thank you for having this channel. I just love the recipes and I have tried many. I am a cancer, patient and in limited diet, which can be very bland. I cannot use onions anything that has skin beans or corn or peas, fats etc. Just tried your rice pudding, which totally meets thecriteria and I just love that it is very fast to make simple and taste so delicious. I am saving up now to order one of your cookbooks so that I will have a hardcopy that I can keep making these please keep the work, I’m sure you are more like myself out here that are using an Insta pot for the first time, I just had one I purchased brand new for less than $30 and it works beautifully. The person I received it from was for her family of four. She stated it was not large enough being a 6 quart DuoCrisp. For my wife and I, it is perfect. I will keep watching.
I have to tell you Lisa, I was really on the fence about whether or not I wanted to invest in an instant pot after my air fryer bit the dust last month. But after watching several of your videos, you totally "talked me into it." I don't mean that in a bad way ~ you're so enthusiastic and genuine that I couldn't wait to try out your recipes! Also I like that you test out several different ways of making your items, and share with us the best, saving me so much time, effort, and money in wasted sub-par dinners. I'm vegetarian and my husband is a meat lover, so we have to do a LOT of cooking for each meal, and your videos have been super helpful to both of us! Thank you so much! By the way, I did end up getting the 8 quart with the pressure cooker and air fryer so I can do everything in one machine ;) Going to make this rice pudding tomorrow, can't wait!
I love it! My kids always ask for rice pudding. I dread cooking it on the stove. I always cook enough so they can take it home. I did make a few adjustments. I cut the sugar to 1/2 cup. I use half and half along with milk and towards the end I add vanilla ice cream. Saute a little longer for the consistency.
My mother always made rice pudding from scratch. Always loved it (and her). It brings back warm memories. I'm saying 'no to sugar'. I'm breaking the sugar & carb addictions. They leave me bloated and inflamed ~ gotta turn away from the comforting, tasty foods. I love how easy you've made the instant pot easy for me to use! I'll keep looking for your videos. Keep going!
This recipe looks awesome and I love how much information you provide about the vanilla paste. That said, the video would be so much better if you gave us the amount of each item as you add it. It's really frustrating to pause and follow along when the amounts are non-obvious. (It would be even better to give the amount as text on the screen so that it still readable when we pause on that particular section)
Here’s a link to the recipe! I realized after the fact that I should be saying the amounts. I mistakenly thought Most people want just a link to the recipe and not be bothered with amounts but I realize it’s a better experience to have it all in one place. I’m still fairly new on UA-cam, and I’m making mistakes and corrections each week. Please forgive me! 😊 I will start doing that in future videos for sure. Sorry a few questions about this vanilla rice pudding 😋 in this video you did not mention the amounts of sugar ,milk , water only of the vanilla , so I am lost I wouldn’t want to make it wrong can you answer me please I would love to make it as soon as possible 😊 Thank you. Look in her link to the recipe. You can do a screen shot or print it out. I find having it in front of me makes sure that I do not make any errors. After making it 3 times every time it turned out delicious even if my measurements were not exact. Enjoy!
I ended up emailing Lisa for the measurements because I couldn’t find them either. Well they’re there, you just have to keep scrolling down the page, it’s just before the comments. Just and FYI....
What exactly is the 10 min natural pressure release? I'm thinking of using an instant pot in my camper so to prevent draining my battery I have to limit the time I use it as much as possible. Can I do the 3 min high pressure and then turn the instant pot off or do I have to keep it on for the 10 more minutes?
You can definitely unplug it after the 3 minutes. The natural pressure release is just letting the pressure come down on its own instead of releasing the valve at the top of the instant pot which forces the steam out.
Wowwwww 👆nice. 😋 Have you cook basmati rice that fluffy and like individual pearls rather than soggy in IP. can you please have a session on how to cook fluffy basmati rice.
