    I was standing in front of my mirror my new Brio in hand, thinking I'd clean up the edges. I stopped and thought, let me check online for some info and there was this video. I believe you stopped me from making a gap error. The Brio is now standing in it's base. Again and, it seems to have a recurrent theme, always thanks Dan C.

    Hey, great video as always, Dan. For me, I've found that (and you can see with your beard as well) when I trim with my clippers, I treat the sides of my beard as a straight line going all the way down. I don't trim with my clippers inward on my beard, just a straight line from my burns, down, without going in. For the bottom, I take the line straight back to my neck, without going upward. This ensures that the hairs growing at the connector areas fill in completely. If they grow past my lines, then I trim them back to the line again.

    Thankfully that you brought this up. I always make sure that it is filled in on the sides with my mirrors. I do cringe when I see guys that do disconnect from the neck when combing or brushing forward. I understand that they want create a thicker look in the front but not realizing it makes it looks like the beard is just hanging on the bottom of the chin and disconnected from the neck on the sides. It really looks funny. I do see some of the beard models that does that. Not only that they do shave the neck area even tho they have a long beard that covers the neck area which they shouldn’t have done that. I’ve seen one video that you can see clearly when the sun was beaming right through the beard where you can see the clean shaven neck area that creates the beard look very thin or sparse. I hope I’m not ranting much but this must be said to every bearded guys. Great video, Dan as always! 👌🏻

    Great tips! I'll watch a time or two more to see how or if I can use them. I don't see a gap, and I understand the importance of the underbeard for fullness. I see round brushes more and more, but I have a lot of brushes and combs I no longer use. Now my preferred comb is a Kent FOT (Fine teeth only), with a Beard Brawler on occasion, and sometimes various brushes to remind me why I no longer use them. 😀 Your explanation was clean and clear, as expected!

I noticed when I looked in the mirror, I was seeing a little see through on the bottom of the beard, & I learned to correct that. awesome vid as always, I'll be trying this with my beard moving forward. nice use of the rounded brush for the corners and the neck base.
    what's your opinion for tying off the beard in a ponytail like style, I know you haven't done it, at least in your videos. I've recently started playing around with the style as my beard is on the cusp of being long enough. I find it helps tie everything into to a more rounded shape and where as without my beard is more fan like. especially on the sides where I turn looking left to right. it could be my styling need more work to train my bead the way I want it, but I do like the convince of a chin ponytail and looking forward to when my beard is long enough to do this on it's own.

    This is the problem that I need to fix now my beard starts to lay down, on 07-2021 I've got the spade shape on request and on 10-2021 the barber did cut the fly away hair with scissors with the goal to grow a long beard. Time to get another beard trim now that I know what can be improved, did not go to the barber because I did not know how to describe the cut that I want. Can this neck area be one of those places that develops on later ages? It seems like the hairs in that area are starting to change to beard hairs and most of the hair is hard to notice in that area.

    Literally JUST watched this after my did my 2 month line up/trim. DAMN. I literally JUST had my sister help me with the line up on my side to where my sides meet the neck. What a damn coincidence. Ahhhhh the thing is I haaaaad to fix my line up on my sides, it was looking BAD from a side view. I won’t get any women with that. Lol. Ahh guess I’ll get again when it’s longer .. ps. Ever since I have found beard butter, I THREW AWAY all my beard balms. Don’t even like it or see the need for it anymore. I like the natural fluffy look way over the balm. Beard butter is the TRUTH.

    Hey bro love ur vids. If you use Just for Men dye which color do you use for the brown?

    • @1533ramsay
      @1533ramsay 5 років тому +1

      Don't use JFM. Its make your beard feel dry. The color is harsh and fake. Go to Sally's and use a brand called Ion color brillance . Use the light brown 5N color. Trust me it not light and looks very natural. Ask a person who works there to help you. Most employees are helpful. I use a 20 developer. Use 50/50 color to developer. I've used color on my beard for 8 years. This stuff is the best. It makes your facial hair soft. It not a permit color so you will not get any growth lines. Keep it on for about 25 minutes and increase time on the more experienced you become. It will not burn your hair. Just gets darker the longer it stays on. Good luck...👍

    When do u stop shaving ur neckline

    • @brendon3795
      @brendon3795 5 років тому +3

      In my personal experience I stopped shaving my neckline when my beard length grew to the point I couldn't see my neckline face on in the mirror. The sooner you are able to stop shaving the neckline the better I believe, because those neck hairs support the beard and give it fullness for the longer beard styles. Additionally, I recommend using a hand mirror to see your beard from all angles as Dan C suggests, because you get a sense of what your beard looks like from all different angles, and you may spot some hairs that need to be tamed that you wouldn't notice otherwise.

    Crucial part of the beard to understand, unfortunately this hair represents the most annoying growth I have. They grow unevenly and significantly faster than my other hair. On top of this they are (and especially used to be) a different texture to the rest of my beard. Really feels like I have a piece of rope at each corner of my beard sometimes.
