Regards from the USA - really enjoyed this one, and coincidentally spent part of this morning reading about the Vale of Rheidol railway... another scenic gem, in Wales. Seeing your compartment, I couldn’t help but imagine Holmes reading his paper and Watson watching the scenery, on their way to a case somewhere. ;-)
This was a cool vid Ian and Jamie love old train's always have i still have my first train set from when i was a kid its neer 40 yrs old naw but still works fine much love frpm Maine to u boys keep it up and we will watch boys
I've been to so many railway places in the UK. They all got their own quality. Do preferer the old style locomotives. So much nicer. History as it should be folks. Always reminds me of the sitcom Dads Army of them being on these types of trains. Such a great video. Really enjoyed this one as reminds me of part of my childhood.
Miniature railways are interesting. The Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway line was a school trip fave as a well as the Bluebell railway. You look chuffed lads.
Loved this video.....I'm no train geek but if you like the old train vibe check out the Servern Valley Railway in Kidderminster it's like stepping back in time folk, take a look and when your in that area you are on the doorstep of the Drakelow Tunnels WW2 factory and Cold War war rooms and refuge 😁
Worst thing is, I can still remember travelling on steam trains from the country to the city for boarding school in the early 70's and also travelling on the flying Scotsman from London to Edinburgh in 1970!
Hey guys another great vid you would really enjoy the great central railway war weekend one of the best preserved railways in Britain Google send you straight there
Really enjoyed that , there are some classic steam engine train lines in western North Carolina. A few hundred miles from me in the east that I have always wanted to try
Good video , you should goto bluebell railway it's very good day out , and now you can go to east grindstead and the steam line can be got from there the the old stations . Also there's a great steam railway on the Isle of Wight 👍
Nice video, gents. Always good to have an excuse to enjoy some proper railway engines and rolling stock, like the 'Blood and Custard' coach right at the beginning. Nice Lowmac in that row of wagons near the end. I'm just old enough to remember the corridor compartment coaches, like the one you were in. I wish that they were still a thing - especially after going to Cornwall by train a few years ago, and the stunningly beautiful latter part of the journey being ruined by a hippy couple and their fat, shrieking child called (and I wish it were a joke), Merlin, who ran about the carriage, annoying everybody, until someone (sadly, not me), tripped the brat up. In a corridor compartment, I could have simply shut the door. It's travelling from a simpler, more civilised age. And it sounds and smells so much better.
hi folks if you're ever down in Cornwall let me know and I should be able to give you a free ride behind the steam train at the helston railway from your Cornish fan
