I have wanted to make these for years, received a smaller one as a present. Great tutorial. My husband and I have both made them now and yours is the most informative by far. Thanks!!
Very rare to find someone that's good at teaching. I love the thoroughness. Would like a closer shot at how you bent the nails to put on jump rings at the end.
Amazing instructional video ..! You "nailed" it 😊.. I made one along w\you & mine turned out great 👍.. Sending a huge shout out to anyone wanting to make these THIS IS THE TUTORIAL TO WATCH ! It has complete DIY project information: tools needed, where to purchase materials used, lengths\sizes, pleasantly spoken and well paced training.. Great job Mr. Coop... ! Thank you 👍🩵✝️
I like the video, I'm involved in a recovery ministry in Schenectady NY and we used to have a friend that made these type of crosses for our personal use and I've ended up giving mine away every time, so I thought that I'd try to learn how to make them myself. I think everybody in the group has given most of them away, I just gave away my last one. I think ours are made with different smaller nails but your video gives me a good start. thank you for taking the time to do it, I'll have to see what other videos you have, I know my son was interested in the para-cord stuff, I think it looks kind of interesting too. I'm going to check out the facebook site. Have a great day.-Ike
Mr. Coop.Great video.I like how you showed everything, from the jig to where to buy all of the material. Can't wait to try making them,Thanks for all of your time that you took to make the video.
Best video on how to make these, by far!! Thanks for all the details, clear instructions, and for sharing all the measurements and tops an tricks you've found to make it easier. First video of yours I have seen and I am an instant fan! God bless.
Great video and it got me back into wiring them again. Would you know the bending inches for 4.5 nails. I have some of them also from my brother- in- law who first taught me. By the way, I'm giving them out in church tomorrow for whoever wants them
Actually, Mr. Coop, do you have any suggestions (or advice on pitfalls, etc.) for adding little charms if you were to want to make one of these into a necklace of some sort? I'm a big autism awareness guy (because of my always unique son), and could see incorporating some of that into some of these.
Pretty cool! thanx for all your tips and how to videos withe the parachord braclets too. Do u sell parachord jigs and how do I purchase one. Also r their any videos on using the shackle style buckles that u have made? Anyways thanx for the tips!
Hi there, thanks for sharing this helpful video, i heard you use the #5 city slim nails, a nearby store has 4.5 slim blade, 5 city head, 5 slim blade & 6 city head horsenails, none exactly as yours, so could you tell me which of these 4 types will work, also what is the over-all length of the nails, is it about (2")? Please reply back, i'd really appreciate it. THANKS.
What kind of stuff to use on to keep it from rusting he put all up and down on the wire to and the nails and what was that again so I don't know and where do you get the stuff cuz I want to know so I can keep the why are from fading away and keep the deals from rusting
18 gauge wire is a bear to find around here,I've got some, I put a couple of layers of electrical tape on the jaws of my vice grips to keep from messing up the heads of the nails, I have a cross I'm kind of following as a guide and they didn't do that and the one side is all waffle looking. still working on the measurements for the 16,20, & 22 gauge wire. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us. ps. I did get my nails at a tractor supply, I ended up getting 4 1/2 race nails, I think they should work out fine. Thank you again.- Ike
Seen your video 2 yrs ago. Bought all the items needed but never started. Have a question. How far up the needle nose plier do you make your file groove? Also I got the 18g wire..What is the mm? 1.0?
Coop excellent tutorial...Just a couple of questions...what is the exact name of the nails your using and the length of them and would a home center like home depot or lowes carry them or are they like a special nail for shoeing horses?Thank you very much.
He said he uses City 5 slim. You can get them at any farm type store. Farm & Fleet, Fleet Farm, Big R, They are in the equine area because they are horse shoe nails. Menards or none of the big hardware stores do not carry them
Mr. Coop great video as usual. I can't seem to find how far up the needlenose pliers to make the file mark. One place it says 1/16" but that looks way to short. How far should the groove be made on the pliers from the tip ?
Great video Mr.Coop as usual and I have a question me and a buddy of mine were talking about incorporating shock cord into a paracord belt to make it adjustable without adding extra length what is your opinion on this idea please reply I value your advice thanks
Hi Coop,Can you tell me a good place to buy the 18 gauge wire besides Walmart? I have gotten a lot from them but can not find white. Do you have any suggestions?Do you have a video for making a multi color cross? Thanks,
Good video Coop. Hard to see the important areas.....pls hold cross up higher to camera, and hold it still for about six seconds so we can focus and remember the detail work.😆 GG
Could you bend the tops towards the back side instead of to the sides and then feed your paracord through that? It would save the step of the rings, but not sure how it would look, or if the holes are big enough to feed paracord through?
You are right Matt, it works nice doing it like that but the paracord doesn't slide as easy.. But yes it does work.. Now if you use thin leather it would work a lot better..
great cross.. watched your vid and several others but came back to your system, more precise, easer to follow. the first i made using a simplified version...sucked...you side something about selling at craft shows, i guess you sell your crosses and para-cord work. what else do you sell. how well does the crosses sell. have a great day and thanks for the great vids..
Thank you for the great video. I am excited to make these for my horse riding friends. I am having one problem though and am wondering if anyone has a solution. No matter how careful I am, when I use my little jewelry pliers to compress the coils together, I almost always scrape the color off the wire. Any suggestions? I also have the same problem with holding the nails together for wrapping so I have been securing them with glue first.
I been wanting to know how to make those horseshoe nail crosses for a long time. I'm glad I ran into your tutorial. Thank you so much!🎉🎉🎉

Are the number 5 horseshoe nails easiest to bend?
Nice job. Looking to start making these for a group of co-disciples
Thanks for the video you are a very good teacher. I was wondering what size nails you used
I know this post is 4 years old but i use #5 city head slim nails
Really great work Coop!!
Thanks bro..
I was also wondering if you could use a spray poly on the crosses or even a stuff call a mat finish also a spray.
Pretty cool! thanx for all your tips and how to videos withe the parachord braclets too. Do u sell parachord jigs and how do I purchase one. Also r their any videos on using the shackle style buckles that u have made? Anyways thanx for the tips!
Great video! How did you make the wooden measurement thing that you used? Thanks!
Mr. Coop. Do you sell just the nails already bent for the horseshoe nail cross?

They are 47mm or 1.85 inches long. Hope this helps. Here is a link to them on Amazon. amzn.to/2YF4GDk
@@MrCoop Hi, thanks for the reply, but let me know exactly which nails should i use as i have no idea.
You can use the ones in the link I provided in my last post.
@@MrCoop OK, Thanks, but what's the difference between slim blade & city head horse shoe nails?
What kind of stuff to use on to keep it from rusting he put all up and down on the wire to and the nails and what was that again so I don't know and where do you get the stuff cuz I want to know so I can keep the why are from fading away and keep the deals from rusting

Oh...I wanted to ask you...Have you done any bracelets with the Kevlar paracord that Atwood offers on their website? Keep up the awesome vids!
No sir that stuff is way to high for me..LOL
Hahaha! My thoughts exactly...
Mr. Coop great video as usual. I can't seem to find how far up the needlenose pliers to make the file mark. One place it says 1/16" but that looks way to short. How far should the groove be made on the pliers from the tip ?

Very nice video
