@@patriciagomessJust not the same. Very unlike the book. Lizzie Bennet was not a farmers daughter sitting in a swing in a mudpool amongst pigs. Her fathers estate had a few farms, they did not live on one.
This was PERFECTION. I loved the way you did this, showing different scenes from throughout and then throwing in some voiceovers (that one at the end 🥹) which make me go feral so naturally I was really enjoying this. plus, the PARALLELS. I had to analyse P&P for my dissertation, but I never realised there were so many parallels in the book! Your understanding of these characters is incredible, and I cannot thank you enough for deciding to share this art with the rest of us 💕
Thank you so much for this comment! It's always so rewarding when people really get the intent. That sounds like an awesome dissertation to make. You know, I've spent so much time on this book/story, but it's really when making the video that I noticed some of the parallels and was just in awe. Such a perfect book, I've read it dozens and dozens of times and yet I always get something new out of a re-reading
The amount of parallels made me go feral 😵💫😳 I knew they were both so similar but you have beautifully demonstrated the true depth of their connection ❤ and the voiceovers omg 🙊 Exquisite work!🏆
Ok. I am SOOOO so late to the party. I just finished watching the series but I should've done this way before. For me this is the best version out there and so true to the books. So you can imagine my joy in seeing you had edits of them. ❤❤❤ This is absolutely superb and I love how you organised everything in this, all the voiceovers parallels, everything flows in it. Oh and the music compliments it so nicely! I'm glad this edit exists
So so good video ❤❤❤ just wish you had put “how ardently I admire and love you” with “I do, I do like him I love him” but other than that it’s so good! Where did you get the clips from it’s such good quality! Thanks
Darcy (i.e. J.O.) still pushed the boundaries of the rich-poor paradigm. I don't know if the dear companions-romantics are aware of how much Darcy had to break inside himself to trample the firm structure of the hierarchy by which he was raised, and that he will feel contempt and that it will reach even the king. What would you do in his place with the education and worldview of that time?
What is fundamentally annoying is that both actors are far too old and also look too old. Elisabeth is far too serene for a 21-year-old (!) and also appears much less attractive and older than Darcy. Her appearance is more like that of a good housewife on a sewing course. No one falls in love purely with intellect, the whole package has to be right. And unfortunately, unlike the book, that's not the case at all. A man like Darcy (Firth is brilliant) is a 10 on the points scale, while the plump, bland Elizabeth from the film is perhaps a 7. A Darcy would never have chosen her. In most Austen films, the men are much more attractive than the women. The 2007 film Persuasion is a real disaster: the drooling female protagonist with the constantly open mouth is almost repulsive, while Elizabeth here is at least just boring. The film's target audience is average women. And they are supposed to believe: I may only be mediocre myself, but I still get the most attractive man. No, it doesn't work like that. And that's not what Jane Austen meant either.
This is the only version of P & P that I will watch. It's classic and perfect. Imitated, but never duplicated.
Just binge watched it at end of my winter break!
I absolutely agree with you 100% but omg I’ve forgotten how UGLY Miss Bingley is!
Hear hear 🍻🍻🍻
Give 2005 a chance, you won’t regret it

Thank you! I'm in such a big P&P mood right now, there might be some more to come...
I appreciated the unexpected pleasure of this video edit. Pride and Prejudice ‘95 has little love in the online community.
Thank you! It's very much loved by Austen fans I think, but I haven't seen many edits of it in the wider fandom community, it's true
I think, after much viewing that I adore the 1995 rendition the best 🩷
I ADORE this. So thoughtfully & beautifully edited, I'm glad these characters have your attention to give them the high-quality edits they deserve🥺😍
omg thank you so much ♥♥♥
Wow never really realised how similar they are. All that mirroring you highlighted; so good. And such good quality video!
