My manager's boyfriend gave her an orchid for our office and now it's my responsibility because I know how to take care of regular houseplants, never been so stressed in my life 😂😂
Went to toss out our garbage and someone had placed 4 very sad looking orchids out for compost. We rehomed them, and thanks to your video series, they are not only very happy in their new pots and medium but one of them has a new set of blooms starting! Thank you so much for such an amazing video of a wealth of information for us Orchid fans.
This year 2023 my son gave me a orchid for mothers day. I didn't know what to do with the thing, but thank you for sharing your knowledge. Now I need to sit down and watch ALL your videos
I have been given a gift of one of these orchids today and thought I would come onto UA-cam to see if there is anything about looking after them! Now I feel as if I have taken on another child. I feel the pressure of responsibility to keep it alive and healthy.
Hey Danny, thank you so much. I am becoming the orchid guy at work. I currently have 11 rescues from teachers who receive them and then neglect them. Some of which have come straight out of the garbage. Because of your videos, my rescue success rate has gone way up. Some of my rescues have been incredibly remarkable. I have also taught some teachers how to care for their orchids and my one friend still has blooms from the plant he received in September of last year.
Am pretty sure the little plants cry when they end up at the garbage. You are so nice rescuing, and giving them another chance. I do love orchid!. Actually I do have a total of twenty four, and they are my children. But, my problem is; I can not stop buying them!!.
@@imeldasundquist4093 I'm the same way but with succulents. Lol I'm here because I received an orchid last August as a gift from my daughter. I've successfully kept it alive through winter, and it's kept its 2 flowers. The problem is I want it to grow more flowers. 🤔
I just rescued an orchid from the communal trash bin where my mom lives. The blooms had fallen away, but the leaves and medium looked perfect and healthy. Thanks for your tips. 🙂
I work at a grocery store and I found seven orchids that were going to be thrown away in the trash just because they had lost their flowers. I rescue them and I’m very interested in your videos to help me and their recovery
I had 2 orchid plants and threw them out because I thought I killed them. My sister just gave me another one and told me they grow back. So I’ll have to just wait and see. I just watched this video and cut mine back.
Hello Danny! I'm so happy and watched most of your videos and help me to take care of my orchids. I have 18 different orchids inside our apartment. Anyway, I watched this video at least 10x now. ❤ all your tips!
I just realized... Am I the only man here who loves orchids?! lol I'm 28 and my friend told me that orchids are near impossible to grow so I took the challenge and I have the nicest looking orchid in the entire world. It's my keiki!
No sir!! I have successfully grown my orchid and every day it looks even more beautiful ❤😂 Ex wife said I was worth shit let alone be able to grow anything Proved her wrong 🤌🏼😂
I’m also a man who adores nurturing, orchid species. Most of us are gentle, intelligent souls, who have amassed, vast fortunes and only wish to control the world. Fortunately, I live in part of the world where propagating orchids is rather easy. So on with the world domination.
My 10 year old orchid blooms every year. I had no idea you had to repot it. Until one of the leaves started to Yellow. I went to the nursery got everything I needed it is in a beautiful new pot. I'm hoping for the best. I'm counting on you as I followed your video for newbies. I'll keep you posted.
I thought my orchids were doing really well and that I knew enough... I now realise they have sad leaves and I have a ton more to learn! So on my orchids' behalf : thank you!
god i cannot praise this video enough, it gives an insane amount of detail on so many things, explains what to expect, what's normal, what isn't and how to deal with it, has videos that go into more detail, MY GOD THANK YOU
My orchid has been thriving since I learned how to properly water it. Now that I’ve mastered that I gotta learn how to help them bloom again. Thank you!!!
I have to be honest, three minutes in and I’m completely lost. “Dormant but active”? And how can you tell that’s the last place a flower bloomed? I don’t think I’m smart enough for orchids.
@ don’t give up. Just watch the video a couple times until you get it. What I don’t have personally, is patience. If you’re interested in stuff like this, time will be the only thing you can depend on when it comes to results. Also a positive attitude won’t hurt.
My late mother loved orchids so much. She was able to grow some and took care of them til she passed away in 2014. Vanda, catleya and dendrobiums are the only ones she had and I remember pretty well how she wished to have Phalaenopsis. With this channel, I am now being inspired to fulfill that wish of her. I will try my very best to look for Phalaenopsis and give myself a chance to grow them and take good care of them. Thank you for producing educational videos such as this that help an emerging ochid lover like me to understand more about these beautiful flowering plants. God bless!
I bought an orchid then sat down to watch your videos on how to care for them. I'm so glad I started watching your video or my orchid would have died. Two leaves, a large and a small, closest to the roots started turning brown in the center. I watched the repotting video and realized my orchid was in a pot without slits. What's more, the moss was so impacted in the roots that after I was done pulling all of the moss out, I had enough to pack my size 10 shoe. The pot is only as big around as my fist. I was amazed at the amount of moss stuffed within the roots. I so hope I can keep this orchid alive. I didn't feel I had time to wait for anything to be shipped to me, so I went somewhere in town and found stuff to repot my plant. I couldn't find a see-through cup, so I cut slits in the cup it came in.
Holy crap thank you for this video, my wifes favorite flowers are orchids and we've always thought they die after a week or so from buying them "pricey" but now she can finally always have them around. I cant wait to see them rebloom.
Thank you SO much for this video, it took way too long to find. I recently became an orchid parent to two orchids as condolence gifts and I am determined to do right by them even though I have zero experience. They just finished dropping their blooms and I have been all over the internet trying to find a clear guide on what to do now. They are both behaving very differently. So far everyone seems to assume a bit of starting knowledge or explains only one situation, so there seemed to be a lot of conflicting info. This video answered all the specific questions I had that I was having little luck finding answers to! I'm off to watch the rest of the series now, and thank you again. 🙏💜
I watched this a few months ago when my orchid was dropping it’s flowers after a couple months in bloom. I trimmed it just like you explained, and guess what?! I have new blooms about ready to open!!!! I’m so excited. I wanted to thank you for your video, and let you know that it worked wonderfully. It took a couple months for it to start branching again, but when it did, it seems to be growing the buds very quickly.
Thank you for now sending me down the Orchid Care rabbit hole I'm about to fall in! We have 3 Orchids in the house given as gifts, and now it's time to help them survive past dropping their first blooms! Thanks for this super easy to understand video. Can't wait to see what else I can finally learn! Wish me luck!
With your videos, I've successfully got my orchid to re-bloom. I'm so thankful for you and your knowledge. Out of all of my houseplants, I've never been more proud/excited. Thank you for all that you do. ❤ you are appreciated.
Thank you! My wife is super excited to have a flower that didn't die in a week. They appear to be thriving. She's excited to learn how to care for them and bring them into our future.
My Phal has been growing like crazy. It had two flower spikes when I got it and I didn't trim the spike whatsoever, it grew a lot of new leaves, and some of the roots even grew straight up! Towards the end of December I noticed that there were two new flower spikes coming from the base of the plant and the two previous spikes were flowering. I was gifted with 4 flowering spikes! It is now flowering for a second time on one of the previous spikes, so I've had so far 6 months of flowers :)
So I don't need to trim it and the plant will bloom on the old spikes again too? The part with the trimming confused me, when I do that all the time after the flower bloomed I will end up with sometims don't having any spikes.
With your wonderful advice, I rescued my dying Phal and it bloomed beautifully this winter. Now I know how to cut back the stem and keep her going. Thank you.
Thank you! This video filled in many gaps that books don't cover. My orchid that I saved from a co-worker that didn't want it anymore now has a keiki. Little did I know that I was doing something right when I was trimming the cane down. Now I know after watching this video what I need to look for when I trim future canes. Thank you.
Oh my goodness. Thank you so much. My husband purchased me one for my birthday in September. My blooms just fell this week. I was so scared I was killing it. I kept moving it and watering once a week per the directions. Then I finally stopped, looked up how to care for it and found you awesome video. Thank you.
Earlier this summer I trimmed off one of the flower spikes on mine because it was dried up, but the other one looked green stil. After following your fertilizing advice all summer it now has new roots, a new flower spike coming up and the spike I left is putting off new branches and showing signs of buds. I couldn't be happier. We bought it early last year and it stayed blooming all last winter into spring. This is the first time I've ever had an orchid produce new spikes for me. Thanks for all the info you share.
I agree with J. Torres. I wanted to buy an Orchid a year ago and was reluctant. Yesterday, I bought two new orchids and also picked up some items from Repotme.com You have given me the courage and knowledge to start growing these lovely beauties in my home. I cannot thank you enough for your help and wisdom. Thank you so much!
I trimmed just like you described and I got two babies off one orchid last year. Each on their own flower spike. I got some help and did some research and after they had roots long enough i trimmed and replanted. Both are doing great.
Ayyyy! I was gifted an orchid a while ago and just put it in a pot and put it by the window.. and it has never reflowered. I had no idea all the special care involved. Thank you for this video! And it's nice to hear my keiki is rare! I now have two!
A friend of mine gave me a small orchid that was not thriving... until I put it at my place in a room filled with light. To my surprise, it developed a keiki on an old spike and two new spikes grew from the plant. On one of the new spikes, three secondary spikes grew and on the other spike, one secondary spike also grew! So the plant has one keiki and six spikes, which should give a total of 28 or 29 flowers when in full bloom!!! It is a small orchid and I am astonished by its vitality as I have done nothing special. It just has a lot of natural light and some water once a week! It is a blessing to see it.
Miss Orchid Girl, your informational videos are among the best on the internet. Your presentations are very well-prepared, fully informative, clear, carefully explained without being verbose, and visually complete. In addition, your gentle accent is very pleasing. Thank you so much! (P.S. Your pronunciation of "watering" as "watring" is adorable.)
Hi, actually I stopped coining the cinnamon on spikes tip a lot of years ago, it's just unecessary. But you will find it in my very old videos, 10 years ago, I just don't find it necessary anymore 😊
I would really like to say thank you so much for these videos. They literally helped me revived what seemed like a dead orchid. And also taught me how to take care of the new ones we got. I had my first bloom two days ago! I got super excited. Thank you so much for your good work! ❤️
Wow I received an Orchid as a gift February, bloomed beautifully then all but 2 flowers fell off. I’ve had no idea how to care for it but I have just learned so much from your video. I only kept it because of the 2 flowers left at the top of the tallest stem. Now suddenly 2 new very healthy stems have grown and flower buds are growing fast. Thank you for sharing I’m going to watch your other videos also. Subscribed xx
Great video, thank you. I got into orchids when my husband brought me a bunch of rescues from his office. I didn't realize how fun and easy they would be to grow. I have one that has bloomed for an entire year....I didn't know they would do that but I love it.
Recieved an orchid in November and I literally have just fed it coffee and kept it in the light and it has been doing pretty good. I've honestly been neglecting it though, since the blooms fell a while ago, but I'm excited where it will go from here
Hello Dani hope you and your loved ones are well 🙂 I just had to get back to you to let you know that as a result of your amazing knowledge and accessible information and guidance my poor orchid that looked ready to be binned has a lovely new centre leaf 😮 I gave her a good drink for 15mins and sure enough her poor wee neglected roots turned green. That is a wonderful thing to know. I never realised that orchids needed a soak like that. I have sent away for an orchid repotting kit and can’t wait to spruce her up 🙂 Apart from feeling guilty about neglecting the plant I wanted to try and save her because my husband bought me it to cheer me up a few years ago. It’s symbolic of the love of my husband and the determination of the orchid to survive 😌
Thank you for this video. I have had an orchid for almost a year. It is blooming again and I am so excited! I have never had an orchid live more than a few months so I am really serious about making sure I do everything correctly now. Thanks for this video.
I have an orchid my niece has bought me and I really don't know nothing about them which I had one before and let it die I watered it in the crown and did not know I thank you so much for helping me cuz I know nothing about orchids I really like watching your channel I have learned a lot about orchids by listening to you I really appreciate that
Thank you for this. I finally have a healthy spike growing on one of my rehab plants. I almost killed them a few years ago due to my own ignorance. Your videos have helped me tons!
i need to binge all of these videos, i have 11 phalaenopsis, the oldest is 3 years old, and i only keep them in water, but sometimes i wonder how to make them even happier, so im glad i stumbled over this! I already had learned about rootcare, knowing when to let the flower focus on roots/leaves instead of blooming when needed just by observing and working on it, but a lot of the other stuff is super helpful!
Thank you for this video. My blooms just fell off and this explained everything I wanted to know. You have a great way of clearly explaining and you have a very encouraging way of speaking. I will watch your other videos now as well. I have purchased your potting mix also.
I followed this advice and the leaves perked up like 50 degrees, the base grew an inch taller, and the flower stem is getting longer and sprouting new buds, ALL IN ONE NIGHT!!!
Thank you, glad I found you. Got two for mother's day and they are so beautiful and don't want to kill them. Will keep watching your videos, many thanks!
I have to say my orchids are already spiking when I cut them. I sprayed with orchid food and repotted ones that needed new medium and now I will get more flowers!!! Thank you for educating me.
I just got an orchid for valentines day. I'm still scared I'll kill it because I've always heard that orchids are notoriously hard to keep. Watching your videos give me hope😄
I have been binge watching all of your videos as my mother has managed to not take care of her flower through misinformation, so thank you so much for providing proper and thorough information as it means I may be able to save the plant!! 🥰
Thank you SO much for this video! I did as you said and trimmed my flower spikes after my orchid finished flowering and now i have 7 new spikes!! 5 secondary spikes coming from the old ones and 2 new from the mother plant!! I’m so happy! 🥰
Thank you so much!!! Was always bitterly disappointed when the flowers died off and I never got any new flower spikes. Got the wrong advice so no wonder it never worked. Watched this last night and checked out my plant this morning and WOW! I spotted the beautiful little buds hiding and I have now snipped it off in the right place. Can't wait for more flowers and I am definitely getting more plants if the flowers shoot! X
I always kill plants my bf lovingly bought me an orchid and because of you it's still alive and happy and I hope I can keep it that way. Thank you so much
Perfect! I have had several for years and I've never repotted or done very much pruning/care. They just sort of live here and I water them. Hahaha, so this will definitely generate me watching more and improving my care of my lil buddies.
My orchid was looking very sad after all the mistreatment it endured from me. After following your videos, just 2 weeks later it has sprouted a new leaf, a new root and two new flower spikes. So excited. Thanks from both us of, lol.
Thank you so much! Your videos is one of the very few that go into detail on exactly where to cut. Others were far too vague, and therefore confused me on exactly where I should cut. So thank you! I look forward to my orchids blooming hopefully within the next few months or so.
Thank you so much. After my first blooms dropped, I followed your instruction, found a good bud, trimmed the spike as you instructed, continued watering and fertilizing and the bud is now a secondary spike with 5 new flowers. It sits under an air conditioning duct and gets somewhat chilled, if temperature has any effect. After these fall off, I'll re-pot and move the plant to an area with more heat and less light with the hope it'll grow more roots & leaves then put on new spikes and flowers this winter.
I have couple of orchids. I managed kill two of them. 😐One by overwatering which caused rotting the main stem. And the other one (my first ever one) by forgetting I had an orchid. It took me a year to realise And it was only because we were moving houses 🏡 😯 BUT I brought them back to life, both of them 😇. First one (over watered) by cutting everything off to the its very core and left it on window silling to dry it out on direct sun ☀️ and I think she loved it. It took about two weeks to show me I managed to save her. 😊 And the second one (forgotten one/dried out) I cut dried stems off, repoted and watered it everyday bit by bit until I saw roots were healthy green. So my conclusion about orchids is that Orchids are very hard to kill. If people tell my otherwise it’s because people give up on them. And I never had issue with leaving them on direct sun in summer. Anyway I love your videos, you’re sharing lots of useful information which is nice and helpful 👍 keep what you doing, you’re doing a great job 🙂💖
I always kill mine due to overwatering and not seeing any regrowth after many months and then the yellowing of leaves. Will have to give orchids on other shot lol
I also killed one of my orchids by forgetting I even had it, I am now in the process of trying 5o revive it. I cut off all the dried out roots, cut a bit off the ends of the stems because those were a little dried to, and watered it. At first, the leaves were hanging down and were very soft but now they are getting harder and aren't hanging down so much. There also was some kind of insect in some white stuff hiding in a leaf that rolled itself up, so I removed it ofc very nasty. Also, I got her a brother yesterday so she isn't so alone!
This video just came on time to me because my plant has flowers since the last 5 almost 6 months ago and I started wondering what to do next when the flowers start falling. Thanks so much😘
I found this video and I have 3 Phals that all were done blooming and I did exactly this!! I'm so hoping they bloom and at least one grows keikis, thank you Danni!!🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼
Ikr? I had absolutely no clue how to keep an orchid alive before I found her account and would always kill mine :( now I have 4 and they’re all thriving
Just tried this for the first time. Boy, did I have a hard time finding the new baby buds. I really just kinda winged it so we shall see. The leaves are still firm & glossy & pretty so if I don’t get blooms in a few months I will take it to the nursery in town & get help. They teach orchid (and all plant) care for free!
Thank you so much for the lesson. I just bought my first blooming orchid after trying to save 2 very sick orchids that were given to me a few months ago. I gave up after they got worse instead of better. I followed all the instructions I could find but they had little to no chance from the start. I’m looking forward to starting fresh and hope to succeed with my new phalaenopsis, thanks to your information!
I am a noob at orchids so followed all your recommendation.. got one and have watered it weekly chopped the spikes as you said and all I have grown are some fantastic green leaves..its been a year since it flowered but just in the last week it has sprouted a new flower spike from the main plant which is exciting but nothing from the original two spikes.. but its a win I didnt kill it!
This video is absolutely terrific! So glad to have found this. Planning to see a few of the others. What great clear, gentle instruction. Thank you, MissOrchidGirl!
Thank you for this video! I am new to orchids and assumed that, now that the flowers on mine are gone, that I wouldn't get more until I got a new spike. I looked and found a dormant bud. I'm glad I hadn't cut the spike. I cut back to just above the bud and now it's over an inch long.
So glad to watch this video. I thought my orchid has died when all the flowers finished and was going to discard the plant. I found those dormant baby buds in the lower stems after watching this video and trimmed the upper part as instructed in the video. I hope I will see the flowers again in a few months.
FINALLY!! Someone who explains all this so very clearly and cuts right to the chase, no BS just straight facts from experience and gives you everything you might experience.. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Been looking for far too long and wasted so much time watching other youtubers maybe give a few helpful tips here and there but you are talking tips the whole time!! Once again thank you!! I used to be scared to buy orchids because of all the BS there is out there about them.. Water with ice cubes for instance, never did that because i knew that was a not a smart thing to do as these plants never see ice EVER in their natural habitats.. -QUESTION: Where are some good online sites for buying Orchids??
Thank you for this wonderful information. I have managed to keep an orchid alive and having beautiful blooms for nearly 2 months now. This is the first time I have managed to keep one alive this long. I used to think of them more like cut flowers that just lasted longer than a few days. I have been bottom watering it once a week (our house is very dry) and letting the roots really soak up the water, but then letting water run through from the top to get the bark saturated really well (again, very dry house). I stumbled onto this video looking for how to take care of the stems the flowers are on, once done blooming. I guess in nature they must die off on their own and grow entirely new ones since nobody is there to trim them. But obviously the care for a plant that is inside a home is going to have some variance to what would occur in nature! I am going to be watching other videos so that I can see when the best time to repot the orchid will be and into the best soil, fertilizing, and also seeing if there are some good watering tips to continue to keep my orchid alive. I told myself that if I can keep this one going, it will be time to get another (or several more).
I have been keeping track of when my orchid buds and blooms and when the last bloom falls off and the last time I had 8 blooms and they lasted for 9 months that was crazy. The same one is blooming again, bud showed Feb 14th 2020 and has 3 blooms with another bud, so excited that i've finally had success.
My mom wanted to get rid of the orchid she received several years ago. It’s leaves are still a vibrant green so I wasn’t going to let that happen. With all of this new information, I am excited to see if I can get the little one healthy and blooming again!
From a newby orchid lover...I loved the video, so informative... I'm looking forward to learning about these georous plants from someone with your straightforwardness and confidence. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your vids very informative. My wife just got gifted a big orchid plant beautiful in a pot and no one knows how to care for it and i don’t want it to die by the next time they visit. With if vids hope i I can keep it alive
Thanks so much. Three gift orchids "seemed" to be "losing it"; now I know the hot summer is growth time, not flowering season. I WAS a bit suspicious of that, when the first one which had lost ALL its flowers and gotten brown stalks grew new, healthy leaves as it did. Thanks for putting together such an informative and encouraging video. MUCH better to get it from the "horse's mouth" of a profi than some rumor or hearsay.
Its all about being patient with these beautiful plants. I've cut mine back to green spurs 2 months ago , they are growing slowly, its quite facinating.
Thank you! This was amazingly helpful! It eased my concerns for my orchid that is not currently blooming. New leaves are growing and just spotted a baby bud so I’m very excited!
I learned how to get my orchids to rebloom from your videos. And now I am constantly seeing neglected orchids everywhere. Oh my! I now am hoping for a baby plantlet!! That would round out my exciting new hobby.
I love this channel…..I recently bought my 1st orchids and some orchids were on sale, but as the months go by, I’m now having some problems with my orchids, one died out and it looked like it had too much watering and I did what another said about watering the orchids by watering on the main crown which later I found out was wrong for it, and was too much for it, and caused the orchid to rot, so I’m learning as I go along. This channel is very helpful in caring for my orchids. Thank you for sharing this message. HIGH 5
I was given an Orchid as a present. She looks like the purple one you showed in the beginning. I saw another video recommending the repot website also. I will get the soil and fertilizer. She is in a clear pot with drainage holes sitting aside a beautiful pot.
Very informative. I’ve not had much luck with orchids in the past and so when I was given one on Mother’s Day I was a bit dismayed. Not by the gift of course but because I failed so miserably the last time I had one. With your comprehensive information I feel a bit more confident.
Heavy plus! I absolutely love how you explain possible scenarios that aren't on display with your plants. Every time I say "but my orchid has this" Miss Orchid Girl talks about it.
I followed your directions and am now the proud owner of an additional 5 blooms for a total of 16 since October, 2021! This orchid has just been on steroids. She grew a huge new leaf after I repotted her in January plus put out a new secondary stem. I notice another stem also with the 5 blooms. I plan on not letting her bloom again so will cut back and hope for more new leaves and a new stem this fall. Thank you for all your great info.
Your voice is angelic. Your videos are verry informative and to the point. Don't know how I came across this video but immediately liked and subscribed

I just rescued an orchid from the communal trash bin where my mom lives. The blooms had fallen away, but the leaves and medium looked perfect and healthy. Thanks for your tips. 🙂
Next you should rescue your mom! Why is she living in a communal trash bin?! 😜 Sorry, couldn't resist lol. Enjoy your orchid 😄

that’s unbelievable i wonder if i could get some at a good price
I almost did that until my friend stopped me 😅
I had 2 orchid plants and threw them out because I thought I killed them. My sister just gave me another one and told me they grow back. So I’ll have to just wait and see. I just watched this video and cut mine back.
I got mine free from Tesco

My 10 year old orchid blooms every year. I had no idea you had to repot it. Until one of the leaves started to Yellow. I went to the nursery got everything I needed it is in a beautiful new pot. I'm hoping for the best. I'm counting on you as I followed your video for newbies. I'll keep you posted.
How is it?
If it's 10 years old you're doing something right...
We all want to know how the orchid's doing!!
10 years 🥹
I thought my orchids were doing really well and that I knew enough...
I want to know how to get my orchid to grow more than 2 flowers.

God bless!
Я могу подарить вам орхидеи,главное чтобы доехали они до вас !❤
Meredith Rockafellow people throw them away.
Thank you
So happy for you!
I noticed one of mine has an eye and I’m scared to trim it and nothing happens 😭
After mine bloomed it just grows leaves. 😫
as a guy who recently got into botanics and orchids mainly. Youve helped me learn so much. Proud to say my 2 orchids so far have been doing good
Thank you for now sending me down the Orchid Care rabbit hole I'm about to fall in!

I'm about to have my first orchid rebloom too! The buds are already there and I am so excited!
Thank you.
Glad to help! ☺️
I received one in November in bloom. And then it rebloomed in May. Seven new buds. I’m thrilled. Thank you.
Thanks for Sharing

Miss Orchid Girl, your informational videos are among the best on the internet. Your presentations are very well-prepared, fully informative, clear, carefully explained without being verbose, and visually complete. In addition, your gentle accent is very pleasing. Thank you so much! (P.S. Your pronunciation of "watering" as "watring" is adorable.)
Good information. Don’t forget to dab the fresh cut tips of the spikes with cinnamon to prevent disease.
🖐🏼🙂 I received an orchid for my birthday and I hope I can keep it alive since in the past I haven’t had any luck. Thanks for sharing! 💕
I just received one as a gift and I think it's not doing well.
Great video, thank you. I got into orchids when my husband brought me a bunch of rescues from his office. I didn't realize how fun and easy they would be to grow. I have one that has bloomed for an entire year....I didn't know they would do that but I love it.
I’m not experienced but one of my orchids has just grown a keiki or a baby orchid the cutest thing ever.
Lol love your SN
Recieved an orchid in November and I literally have just fed it coffee and kept it in the light and it has been doing pretty good. I've honestly been neglecting it though, since the blooms fell a while ago, but I'm excited where it will go from here
Hello Dani hope you and your loved ones are well 🙂
I just had to get back to you to let you know that as a result of your amazing knowledge and accessible information and guidance my poor orchid that looked ready to be binned has a lovely new centre leaf 😮
I gave her a good drink for 15mins and sure enough her poor wee neglected roots turned green.
That is a wonderful thing to know. I never realised that orchids needed a soak like that.
I have sent away for an orchid repotting kit and can’t wait to spruce her up 🙂
Apart from feeling guilty about neglecting the plant I wanted to try and save her because my husband bought me it to cheer me up a few years ago. It’s symbolic of the love of my husband and the determination of the orchid to survive 😌
How’s your orchid doing?
Thank you for this video. I have had an orchid for almost a year. It is blooming again and I am so excited! I have never had an orchid live more than a few months so I am really serious about making sure I do everything correctly now. Thanks for this video.
Any update?
I have an orchid my niece has bought me and I really don't know nothing about them which I had one before and let it die I watered it in the crown and did not know I thank you so much for helping me cuz I know nothing about orchids I really like watching your channel I have learned a lot about orchids by listening to you I really appreciate that
Thank you for this. I finally have a healthy spike growing on one of my rehab plants. I almost killed them a few years ago due to my own ignorance. Your videos have helped me tons!
Tonya W I had the same problem. It is not easy to grow orchids.
It takes years....... I been at it 3 years and I am still making mistakes 🤔
Oh... so encouraging. I thought I was good at this... but not really! Will keep trying!
i need to binge all of these videos, i have 11 phalaenopsis, the oldest is 3 years old, and i only keep them in water, but sometimes i wonder how to make them even happier, so im glad i stumbled over this!
Did they bloom? I’m very happy for your orchid!🌸🌸
@@kounelitsa thank you! Not yet but soon i guess, baby flowers buds are visible now ☺️🥰
Thank you so much!!!
What soil you used
My orchid was looking very sad after all the mistreatment it endured from me. After following your videos, just 2 weeks later it has sprouted a new leaf, a new root and two new flower spikes. So excited. Thanks from both us of, lol.
OMG thank god I've found you now I can look after my Orchid properly, I do love them they spoil me with flowers
Thank you so much! Your videos is one of the very few that go into detail on exactly where to cut. Others were far too vague, and therefore confused me on exactly where I should cut. So thank you! I look forward to my orchids blooming hopefully within the next few months or so.
I wasn't sure of how to take care of the orchids my Grandma left behind. Thanks for the information and the help!
Ludka Tarcakova needed to see this just thought I killed mine by overwatering
All the leaves on mine have fallen off. I dont know what to do. I am going to be repotting and seeing if any roots are viable. I hope so.
Thank you. I love orchids, so I receive them often.. My buds just fell off and I was sad again. Now I can help the plants out❤
This video just came on time to me because my plant has flowers since the last 5 almost 6 months ago and I started wondering what to do next when the flowers start falling. Thanks so much😘
I found this video and I have 3 Phals that all were done blooming and I did exactly this!! I'm so hoping they bloom and at least one grows keikis, thank you Danni!!🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼

I just received my first orchid from my husband, hopefully I can make it flourish after the blooms fall ❤
Oh my goodness you know so much! I’ve never ever had any luck with Orchids and now I know why! Xx
Be still my heart, the pleasure of a video on a Saturday! Thanks for the treat! 🥰
So glad to watch this video. I thought my orchid has died when all the flowers finished and was going to discard the plant. I found those dormant baby buds in the lower stems after watching this video and trimmed the upper part as instructed in the video. I hope I will see the flowers again in a few months.
This video was incredibly done..your voice is amazing. The advice and information is very helpful as well.
Thank you for this great video

My orchids are so happy to have you xoxo
Thanks so much. Three gift orchids "seemed" to be "losing it"; now I know the hot summer is growth time, not flowering season.
I WAS a bit suspicious of that, when the first one which had lost ALL its flowers and gotten brown stalks grew new, healthy leaves as it did.
Thanks for putting together such an informative and encouraging video. MUCH better to get it from the "horse's mouth" of a profi than some rumor or hearsay.
Thank you so much for these videos. I was gifted an orchid a few weeks ago and I know nothing about orchid care. Your videos are helping so much!
Thanks! Needed to know what to do after blooms have fallen and also whether to repot! Hope I get more flower stalks! 😀
HIGH 5
I love to go to box stores and grab up all the sick clearance orchids. Give them some TLC for a season and get them to bloom again.
I was given an Orchid as a present. She looks like the purple one you showed in the beginning. I saw another video recommending the repot website also. I will get the soil and fertilizer. She is in a clear pot with drainage holes sitting aside a beautiful pot.
Thank you so much for sharing your love and Expertise with us. I find great comfort using your wisdom. 🙏🏼
Very informative. I’ve not had much luck with orchids in the past and so when I was given one on Mother’s Day I was a bit dismayed. Not by the gift of course but because I failed so miserably the last time I had one. With your comprehensive information I feel a bit more confident.
