New and strange Philodendron varieties seem to be all the rage. It's nice to see some love shown to the kind that many of us grew up with (my grandmother had a standard heartleaf philodendron growing in her bathroom for my entire childhood). Propagating plants is one of my favorite things to do, because I love sharing plants with friends, so I'm glad you are offering propagation videos... thanks, Martin!
This has been a most helpful video. Also great tips. I did not know about cleaning your snippers with alcohol. I love the slow way you talked and the detailed way you showed where/how to clip. Thank you so much for this invaluable video.
I've done the whole process & it turned out ok, but I don't know how to induce more leaves growth since the propagation is only 2 leaves & a node so basically, the whole plant is just a few centimetres from the soil (they were the last surviving leaves) Should I attach them to some "support" to allow its growth a little upwards?
Give it a few months, it’ll definitely flourish! I originally started a pot with three individual cuttings of maybe 1-3 leaves each, the plant has wrapped and grown extensively since and even started new shoots from the soil!
Great video! . I've been taking small cuttings of my philodendron, of maybe a few inches. Next I will try taking a long strand like you did and see what happens!
Hi, nice meeting you! Im happy to see a guy doing this👏 So, we can put it inside the house, so i dont have to put it where the light hits it? If i put one in my restroom, it wont get the "outside light" (we always have to turn the light on when we use it) is it still ok, it wont die?
Thanks Kirina! Yeah, you can place them indoors where they get some indirect bright light. If the bathroom has a window where some light comes in during the day, I think you shouldn't have any problem. Cheers! 🌿👍

Will my plant grow roots if the node is really small still?
I’m a bit late, but yes! As long as the node has arial roots, it’ll grow roots :)

That’s a philodendron Brazil not a heartleaf philodendron
I think this pot is way too big for this plant..
I thought so too
Video could have been 30-40 seconds. Thank you.
ou can take a villager out of the village but you can never take the village out of the villager
Зачем это показывать, если ничего не понимаешь?!
SO drawn out. Only needed to be like 2 mins.
Way too much introductory build-up, just get on with it!
