Truly a gift to see Patrician debut on EFAP; two of my favourite Longmen. I hope Mauler will bring him back to discuss something he's more knowledgeable about, like if there's an RPG game that they end up discussing at some point in the future.
Okay, I gotta say something about this - at 1:14:00 where they're calling Rowling a hack for the Killing Curse. Both "Abra Kadabra" and "Avada Kedavra" are Aramaic phrases, the first being "I create as I speak" - basically creating something out of thin air - and the second being "I destroy as I speak" - to kill with just a phrase.
Pretty sure their objection wasn’t that it wasn’t cool, cuz honestly that is, but that it sounds silly because of how similar they sound and the “childlike” perception of the first phrase being used for the killing curse
Really cool that Patrician was able to guest on this episode. He’s made some of my favorite long-form content, with some great videos on several of Bethesda’s games. It was neat to have his insight on Bethesda for this stream and why Starfield was such a failure. Hope there’ll be occasion for him to guest again at some point.
"What you do to get hyper drunk, Metal does between shots." That's what happens when you invite a German into your home and give him access to your alcohol. :P
The xQc part was just unreal for me. I had a really good laugh while at the same time having a morbid fascination to understand how tf a 30-year-old toddler, who performs the worm to 'make a point' in a discussion, could become this famous. The internet is a truly strange realm...
XQC got famous initially as a Twitch streamer playing Overwatch as a good enough Winston main to make his way to Masters and for occasionally getting "destroy keyboard" levels of angry if he lost. He catapulted off that popularity to just streaming streaming other people's videos, ala Hasan Piker, Man of Steal. Nobody watches xQc for xQc; they watch for the surprise mechanics of random content while trying to make it a social event, like yuppies of yor listening to the radio, except they've been so poorly socialized by the execrable education system, women and single mothers destroying the family, and social media that they can't connect with people face-to-face, so they dig themselves deeper into social media, starving for a connection, but social media is such a poor substitute for real relationships that they have to stuff 10,000 into a chat room just to taste something. It's the socializing equivalent of gluttonously gorging on empty calories, and xQc is just a center around which that buffet for the fat, starving misfits formed, from where he doles out food that he stole from other restaurants.
I took my little girl to see Wish as the paw patrol movie had stopped screening for her first cinema trip , we left 25 mins in as she kept shouting at the screen ‘turns this off daddy , it’s rubbish !’ She’s 2 and knew garbage when she sees it
It would be great to see EFAP with PatricianTV for a subject where he is quite knowledgeable. He isn't really focused on media generally but rather on RPGs. Perhaps if EFAP plays a Bethesda game, analyzes someone else's long video, or watches the inevitable bad elder scrolls movie.
@@MrNinjaBurger you'd need a video essay about skyrim and i wonder if anyone even bothers talking about that in a way that the panel would find interesting. Because at the end of the day it has to be a video that's worth discussing.
Rags. The movie is called “the toy” Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason. Jackie basically buys Pryor to play with his kid. No fucking way that gets made now.
Avada Kedavra isn't related to Abrakadabra. The origin of the spell ‘Avada Kedavra’ is from a popular Aramaic saying “Let the thing be destroyed”. Almost all Harry Potter spells have Latin or Greek roots.
The explanation I always accepted was back in the day, _avada kedavra_ was the spell that muggles would hear most often (because the wizards were more trigger-happy back then) and over time through osmosis it got bastardized into _abracadabra_ as a generic silly word. Basically the same uno-reverse logic they use to explain why the Captain America comics are based on Captain America the man, NOT the other way around. Was always a dark irony that the most feared spell in the wizarding world is the one muggles garble as a meme.
In a perfect world, the Legend of Zelda movie would be a beautiful 2D hand-animated movie, made by a combination of the best Western and Eastern animators.
It's really good stuff imo. Very thoroughly researched and scripted for his longform works, and the editing work is nothing to scoff at even tho it's mainly made with audio in mind.
It is amazing how fast Rebel moon was gone from the zeitgeist, it didn't make even a week to before it was gone with the wind. I hope the Snyder cut will be the broken lens smeared with vaseline edition.
1:34:14 that's a real cartoon called "Ну Погоди!" It basically is"soviet Tom & Jerry" and is a pretty good kids cartoon Aside from that one horrifying robot episode that traumatized a lot of soviet children
Was it the same one as the one with many tvs? I dont remember this cartoon much cause I only saw it at relatives houses, but something about those TVs still makes me a bit uncomfortable and Im not really sure why xD But I also remember one Smurfs episode that really freaked mini me, and I watched it quite recently and it was completely fine, so Im sure the Nu Pagadi ep was pretty tame too, just weirdly enhanced in the childs mind :)
1:34:10 - the catroon that is played in save rooms is a real Soviet cartoon Nu Pogodi, still very popular in Russia. I don't think it references anything particular in the game. However, there are tutorial cartoons that play in Nora vendors, Fallout style with Soviet animation type and music.
NCU Roadmap • Start with Mario, Zelda, and DK • Smash Bros. with Master Hand and introduce the more cosmic side • Phase 2 with Star Fox, Metroid, and Kirby • Movie version of Subspace Emissary where you bring the extra normal side • Phase 3 with Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, and Mother • You can have your infinity war/endgame with World of Light where Kirby survives and brings everyone back
Mauler thought for the LONGEST time that Orlando bloom could act. Just give it time they’ll realize how stupid they sound defending Bella Ramseys acting.
She's excellent in the scenes where they give her a challenging emotion, like her guilt after shooting Brian or Sam getting infected; but when the directing is mid, she gives what's expected, she doesn't elevate it. In Prequel terms, she's good the same way Hayden is a good actor in the right context; but she can't elevate material that isn't there the way Ewan can. I think people over-hate her because she literally looks like Henry VIII, on another face the same acting wouldn't get mentioned
3:00:09 so like Pokémon the movie and Pokémon 2000 the first anime movies to get wide theatrical releases in the west? Or like the anime movies that come out annually?
I am really glad we got an average length EFAP finally. Even Star Wars Theory was in aw of it's length and every one had to remind his this is pretty small to average. (Also, remember the girth of EFAP!)
6:04:12 That's me in Baldur's Gate. As soon as I realised the combo Hunger of Hadar and Blizzard I just kept doing that every fight. It's reduced movement speed, blindess (inability to use ranged attacks), damage over time, chance to fall prone and it has a gigantic area of effect where you can easily cover entire rooms. Then you just put someone with knockback at the entrance and your killbox is complete..
You didn't 'kill the myth' that plank face Ramsey can't act. Here's what happened based on the same show, you guys said 'she can act' the rest of the world said 'No, she really can't'. She has less range than a potato.

As someone who is not a fan of Harry Potter, but took the Pottermore test because a friend of mine asked me to (and got Hufflepuff), I connected my account and decided to keep that result. Grew to respect the house more, after the obvious reaction of “Fuck, Hufflepuff?” In high school. Lol
While everyone else is murdering each other and fighting for world peace, Hufflepuff is just minding their own business, snogging, and showing up to every social function unironically. *I respect the hell out of that.*
6:39:35 So they sold it as a detective game with supernatural elements, but instead they just resold you Murdered: Soul Suspect where you can just talk to ghosts, lol.
6:00 You can have a Devil that is both those things. The greatest liars are those that can masquerade the lie under truth. After all, omitting information is a lie in and of itself, even if the rest of the statement is truth
It's the classic Devil-Standard: "I'm so good at telling the truth that even when you think I'm lying, I'm still technically in the right and you're the one who's just balding. But when YOU make a mistake, I will absolutely hold you to the letter of the law."
Regarding TLOU, they did change the ending. Admittedly it wasn't a huge change but they altered the dialogue to make it very clear Joel wasn't willing to let Ellie decide and thus his actions were explicitly bad. I don't recall there being any scenes where the Fireflies are shown to have no real chance at making a cure/vaccine either and they had zero interest in Ellie's consent, which the game did make reasonably clear. Chipping away at these things removes a lot of the ambiguity of TLOU's ending, making it much easier to write Joel off as at best simply a surrogate parent trying to save their child or at worst a psycho happy to do anything for what they want and if that were truly the original intent I don't think the story would have started around Joel's relationship with Sarah. Expect S2 to focus on how selfish he was.
Fair points, you're probably right about season 2. That said I think the Fireflies _also_ come across worse in the show. The extra scene of the Fireflies bickering behind closed doors and Marlene struggling to hold it all together; Riley is shown to be a child-soldier left to guard a huge area on her own with no oversight; when they take Joel and Ellie prisoner, it isn't them knocking out a guy who may or may not be faking an emergency only to notice Ellie alive on the floor after he's taken down; it's them intentionally flash-banging a Joel and Ellie who are both alive and well, talking, being very chill, and clearly not trying to ambush anybody or play any game. Further in the show Marlene explicitly says they didn't tell Ellie what would happen. Season 2 _could_ try to paint these Fireflies as the selfless victims, and that would be even more stupid than the game version if they did. My guess is more that in S2 it'll be that "BOTH Joel and the Fireflies are the selfish ones, and Ellie in the middle is the only good one." Which will be lame and gay, but still.
I'm sure they'll carry the plot of Ellie getting mad at Joel from the game, but I hope we get more of a build up to it and more time of them between major events. They know the one thing people unanimously liked was the museum section, while the rest was hotly debated. Ellie quietly letting her frustration with Joel over saving her make them less cohesive before his death is a good plot point if done well. I hope they at least learned to slowly lean into the conflict this time.
The fireflies werent willing to let her decide either. Marlene can claim all she wants that Ellie would have wanted to go through with it, so why didnt they ask her then? Because then they risk the possibility she says no, and then they would have to come to terms with the fact they are murdering a child for something they have no clue if it will work and no way to distribute/manufacture it. They would only give her the choice if she said yes.
2:06:54 This is actually hilarious, so obvious, and yet "true fans" just have blinders on to it. Mando re-establishes that the Force is stronger in people because of genetics, then Sabine says "Anyone can do it! Watch me!"
Resident Evil Village felt like a fetish collection for the devs. Edit: My biggest problem with Alan Wake 2 is that the writing is stilted, and many puzzles aren't solved by the player, but by going into Saga's mind room to have her solve the puzzles for you.
My biggest problem with Alan Wake 2 is that Saga Anderson was in the game. Completely removing her segments and expanding upon the Alan Wake writer's room mechanics would have dramatically improved the game.
@@hariman7727 I just like to think about the possibilities. They could have, in lieu of Saga, had Alan Wake both inside of and outside of the Dark Place, flipping back and forth between the two, and his actions in either realm could affect the state of the other realm, and perhaps Wake could have been unlocking powers that help him progress in the alternate realm in a Metroid-Vania style. All this would be irrelevant if the writing doesn't improve at the same time, but given everything Saga was bad and everything Alan was at worst okay, perhaps it would have solved itself.
Ah, Mauler found another Longman to induct into the cult edit: I can't wait for the Harry Potter arc, where everyone comes to the realisation that the movies are like 6/10 stories carried by the actors, sets, effects, and music.
@@BaldurianTiefling Eh, I can understand the sentiment but i don't think it has any genuinely insane plot holes or inconsistencies. Yes, Time turners are... pretty bad, but I think that even Rowling realised that near immediately after Prisoner of Azkaban. I'd honestly give it a flex between low 6 and mid 5. generally consistent characters, a magic system too vague to break, and generally really predictable plots with pretty boring action. The sole genuine outstanding aspect is the aesthetic and function of the world, which Rowling just wasn't a good enough writer to flesh out beyond the bare details without introducing bad consequences.
Even ignoring the time turners, so much just doesn't work. the fourth book is so contrived it's hilarious, make harry's fucking shoe a portkey and voldemort instantly wins. How did Lily save Harry? Oh, the power of love. Seems like this should be a more common phenomenon if the only criteria necessary to negate the killing curse is loving the person being attacked. The worldbuilding is a joke, They're kinda fun but I'd put them more in 4/10 territory@@powerfist1340
The Last of us show is aggressively mid. It has a LOT of bad changes. I really don't get Efap's insistence that it's good, but at least Almightyloli has a good critique of the show.
1:19:18 If you actually think about it as a school and not some fucking adventure land where you go to risk your life every other week end, you know, as a place where you go to learn stuff and make friends, then I'd say that no, quite the contrary, Hufflepuff isn't some losers' house but rather the best one to chill far from all kinds of assholes that gravitate toward the other ones. Also yeah you can just pick the house you want in the lore, Harry himself said no when the hat told him Slytherin, and that really only because he made friends in the train who went to Gryffindor and didn't like Slytherins.
If you want a preview of his thoughts, he talked about it on last week's Real BBC for about 20 mins. Starts about 18 mins into the stream. Edit: Actually starts at 12 mins
It's been mentioned for several shows the shock that they got a season 2. These things take so long to make (despite only being a handful of shitty episodes and not a traditional full season) that the second season is often already greenlit as part of the initial deal and is in production by the time the first season finally releases, so they're unknowingly spending tons more money than they should just to have content and it won't be until after season 2 that they get cancelled - unless the studio is just that invested in what they're doing and not caring if it makes money or not that they shove through to the third, anyway.
Thank you so much Little Platoon for explaining whats wrong with Harry Potter. Going off the 3 hosts, you wouldnt know why because they never explained their outlook on the series.
04:08:23 Because this is unironically how Greta Gerwig thinks women are treated in America. Without even a *hint* of exaggeration in what is happening.
5:00 Maybe I'm not hardcore enough, but I've never really had the problem of ruining a game through only having one save, unless it's the type of game that only has one save at a time. But, for games like Fallout, I've just always had more than one save running. Sometimes I might forget for a while and lose some amount of hours, but not the whole game. IDK. Not just for active gameplay reasons, but for choice reasons. I've typically always had a three-save system with any game that allows it.
2:03:20 I disagree. In Force Unleashed, it did show Jedi that'd survived Order 66, but they were in hiding, not going on adventures, not very many of them, and you got to kill them. As well, Vader was actively hunting and killing them early on. Starkiller was just going after the last stragglers. And there wasn't the Inquisitor group of hunters. Just Vader and his apprentice. They weren't constantly popping up out of the woodwork on both sides.
dont know how efap liked the last of us show. it was trash. i have no attachment to the game and my girlfriend is a normie. we stopped after halfway into 2nd episode.
4:27:15 Hulu's Futurama - I agree. There were a couple I really liked and. acouple that were just "meh." It's not in its heyday, but it was still good... enough.
I agree with all the others who have said to bring Patrician back for an episode that he's more knowledgeable on. He's really will spoken and good at analysis but this sort of broad retrospective wasn't really the right fit for a first episode imo.
@@bananess_ I'd love for them to do it Saw or Final Destination style, and then do a overall breakdown. Obviously they couldn't go movie by movie in-detail, it'd take so long; but they could like have each panelist bring up their own general comment on the HP franchise and discuss the general pros and cons, the overall characters, worldbuilding issues, production challenges, etc.
It's not EFAP in general, this specific stream was all of the efaps of 2023, so it was kind of a strange one to have a new guest. Given time to research, he's easily on par with Mauler for is analytics.
That Dead Space remake EFAP is still the most baffling thing I've seen on this channel. I like the game as well, but it does have issues beyond the largely inferior characters. Just shitting on critics makes you sound like many of the individuals you cover.
I still have no idea why they spent so much time complaining about Synthetic Man. However you feel about him, his arguments about the DS remake and GoW are right. I really dislike how EFAP will point to everything wrong about something but will randomly dance around why it was done: TLOU2 with Joel's character assassination, the black ice giant in GoW, the Star Wars sequels, and the Dead Space changes. All have the same cause, all are bad, but they'll only really attack Disney for some reason.

In regards to the mario movie where fringy keeps saying "what do they mean about easter eggs" and the rest of the crew in the review. The point put forward is that while there are alot of throwbacks and characters and easter eggs for people who are aware of them, it feels like that is almost the entire "stuffing" of the movie, so anyone not familiar or not interested in it will have a signficantly more bland experience. I watched it and i barely felt it was a cohesive story more so than a collection of random stages that was meant to bring excitement to people who love the games, which feels like an incredibly cheap way to get praise. The EFAP crew calling it basic means they realize its what it was, but most people calling out found basic boring, and the hype that people has for it all stems down to the easter eggs and settings. So i feel like people calling out the keyjangling easter eggs are akin to the frustration that efap has when talking about the sequels and how bad they are where everyone ignores the arguments and just goes "oh but there are lightsabers and skywalkers and palpetine so its STAR WARS NOW AND I LOVE STAR WARS", where the mariomovie is "Oh its a boring movie" "BUT LOOK AT ALL THESE COOL EASTER EGGS AND LOCATIONS FROM THE GAMES"
Was I the only one whos entire strategy in pokemon was exclusively focus on your starter (catch the occasional wild but don't use them in battle) until you get legendary then use legendaries and starter?
I think by trying to prove a point, Mauler proved the chatter right about the difference in how EFAP sees games and movies. First, when they talk about games they are quite loose with what "big budget" means, but for movies they hyper focus on Hollywood. Of course if you narrow your vision to one country and one part of it only you will see less of everything. If they were as broad with movies as they are with gaming, they would feel the same. 2023 was a good year for movies, but a bad year for Hollywood. Also to compare title for title is to movies/tv advantage. Games take longer to make and release so while the MCU can push out 3 bad movies in one year, it is hard for most game studios to do it. A better comparison would be length of time consuming the media. So for example Ahsoka would be 6+ hours while Gollum would be 12+, so you would need another 6 hour show to counter Gollum if the point is to be made that it was a bad year for movies but not for games. I hope EFAP next year tries to watch more different things in movies as they do with games, at least from more than one country as every movie that got a full breakdown episode was from the US. If they already do, it would be good to hear them talk about it then.
I could see the argument there. Another factor here is the mainstream word-of-mouth reaches a lot further with games; a random indie festival film blowing up will still struggle the reach an audience, while an obscure indie game can blow up out of nowhere and it's only a quick Steam download away. So the average game Joe will casually know a much wider diversity of games of varied budget, scale, and origin; while the average moviegoer sticks much closer to the big names they're familiar with. With the movie normie, mid-budget AA movies like Everything Everywhere, The Menu, or Grand Budapest are the outlier successes while with games the net is cast way wider afield. I'm more of a movie guy though so maybe I'm overestimating games in that regard. As stated, the fact studios can only make one game per year tops means gamers expect to hear from more diverse studios worldwide, so when a small game makes it big, EVERYONE talks about it.
With regards to Hogwarts Legacy... I did not get the hype about it. I though it made no sense at all. Extreme level of cognitive dissonance. You're a kid learning magic at Hogwarts, only to become more powerful than your teachers pretty early on, I'd dare say, more competent at least. You are extremely powerful and nobody acknowledges it, you're still treated like a kid even though other people know what you are capable of. You are being sent on dangerous missions and quests by your peers and teachers alike. As if you were not a kid, but a seasoned wizard, but that's just not how the rest of the game treats you. You're a kid that kills people and others praise you for it and your character is completely indifferent towards it. Like what is the crime of this person? Poaching? That is apparently deserving of immediate death. What the hell are they trying to teach their young audience? The poachers are also all around the outskirts of Hogwarts, as well as goblins and other creatures. The surroundings of Hogwarts is not safe at all and the teachers are doing nothing about it. The worst of it is that you are a poacher as well... your character is. You get a pocket dimension where you can build a house and animals you kidnap can live there and you harvest their resources from time to time. Except, this process does not kill them for some reason, you can harvest an animal's skin and it just regrows so you can harvest it again eventually. If you can harvest resources from animals without killing them, kind of like shearing a sheep or so... then why are the poachers not using such an effective method? And why is our main character not motivated to teach the poachers of this method instead of just outright killing them? None of this make any goddamn sense at all. I could not get immersed at the game, even though I tried my best to do so. I really wanted to like the game, but every time I was just brought out of it with questions like "why is this happening?", "why are you saying that?", "why am I doing this?" and so on... I had to stop playing it about half way through. The story and the gameplay do not complement each other at all, it's almost as if it was made by completely different people and patched together with duct tape. The worst case of cognitive dissonance I have seen in a video game so far and one of the worst writings. Not an exaggeration. You just have to think while you are playing it... do not have your brain turned off, you will then realize that so many things in the game make no sense. sorry for the rant, I was just triggered when I heard that the game was alright at about 1:13:00... when I though that it was a massive disappointment. A game that was so critically acclaimed for it's story and gameplay, has very positive reviews I'm just sitting there, playing it like a moron thinking it's garbage.
after the last wish cinema wars you guys should do one for the suicide squad since that's like the movie I think of for efaps 5/10. something fair for both sides

That's still a silly objection.

Really cool that Patrician was able to guest on this episode. He’s made some of my favorite long-form content, with some great videos on several of Bethesda’s games. The xQc part was just unreal for me. I had a really good laugh while at the same time having a morbid fascination to understand how tf a 30-year-old toddler, who performs the worm to 'make a point' in a discussion, could become this famous. The internet is a truly strange realm...
"The Worm"
He achieved something truly astonishing though, he made me agree with Ethan Klein in a debate. Which is a feat I thought near impossible.
The fact that XQC is that popular is a genuine Blackpill
It's simple; LolTyler1 is only Twitch person who _doesn't_ have a mental health disability.

I would assume most of them had to have played skyrim or a fallout game by this point so you'd think they could do that at least.

No no, pokemon clearly predates that.
@awhellnah__yeah, I always thought it was supposed to be a neat twist on abracadabra. Not sure what the hang up was there.
Mein gott PatricianTV is on Efap!

NCU Roadmap
• Start with Mario, Zelda, and DK
• Smash Bros. with Master Hand and introduce the more cosmic side
• Phase 2 with Star Fox, Metroid, and Kirby
• Movie version of Subspace Emissary where you bring the extra normal side
• Phase 3 with Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, and Mother
• You can have your infinity war/endgame with World of Light where Kirby survives and brings everyone back
Kirby is the Captain Marvel of the NCU.

Mauler thought for the LONGEST time that Orlando bloom could act. Just give it time they’ll realize how stupid they sound defending Bella Ramseys acting.
it's kinda hard to act when you have the face of Shane Gillis.
Gollum is the highlight of the year, twice.
You didn't 'kill the myth' that plank face Ramsey can't act. Here's what happened based on the same show, you guys said 'she can act' the rest of the world said 'No, she really can't'. She has less range than a potato.

You guys rock very happy to re-visit the last year of efap. Stay strapped and EFAP, or get clapped.
My parents hated puss in boots and then proceeded to watch wond river say its better. We dont do movie night anymore
Mauler rags I love you guys you save my life by adding meaning to live thank you.
Agreed; this is extreme. Certainly you have other interests in life? Focus on your work, your health. Learn to cook, to paint. Find purpose. ;)
There is something weirdly hilarious about the last sound you hear in the VOD being Patrician softly hitting his mic.
🧛♀️🐺🧞♀️👀
@@sparkypackheh. I got a chuckle out of this.
My biggest problem with Alan Wake 2 is that Saga Anderson was in the game. Completely removing her segments and expanding upon the Alan Wake writer's room mechanics would have dramatically improved the game.
@@brofist1959 or dramatically decreasing Saga's screen time to 10 or 15 minute blocks, instead of hours of tedium.
Ah, Mauler found another Longman to induct into the cult
edit: I can't wait for the Harry Potter arc, where everyone comes to the realisation that the movies are like 6/10 stories carried by the actors, sets, effects, and music.
Now please, it’s not a cult 🧐
It’s a brood 😎
😡🎹
6/10 is entirely too generous
What an odd name lol

1:19:18 If you actually think about it as a school and not some fucking adventure land where you go to risk your life every other week end, you know, as a place where you go to learn stuff and make friends, then I'd say that no, quite the contrary, Hufflepuff isn't some losers' house but rather the best one to chill far from all kinds of assholes that gravitate toward the other ones.
Also yeah you can just pick the house you want in the lore, Harry himself said no when the hat told him Slytherin, and that really only because he made friends in the train who went to Gryffindor and didn't like Slytherins.
Everything with Bruce Greenwood in Fall of the House of Usher was reshoots after losing a different actor? Did not know that. He was amazing in it.
Fingers crossed to hear Mauler’s thoughts on Godzilla Minus One
Yeah fr the wait's been crazy.
If you want a preview of his thoughts, he talked about it on last week's Real BBC for about 20 mins. Starts about 18 mins into the stream.
Edit: Actually starts at 12 mins
@@rbp9773 thx for the timestamp so I can just hear MauLer on it
50s/60s soundtrack you're thinking of a theremin. The creepy ooooo-ooooo sound.
3:26:06 a good tie breaker for sins vs wins might be dune.
1:32:10 Oh, surprise, surprise. The part of the game that the _German_ liked was when he could just go through killing everything.
Thank you so much Little Platoon for explaining whats wrong with Harry Potter. Going off the 3 hosts, you wouldnt know why because they never explained their outlook on the series.
Lives of P. Man, it really was the year of Pinocchio. How the hell did that happen? So much P.
Severely underrated efap
Absolute banger year for EFAP and video games. Here's to the actual, real-time, for-real downfall of Disney's unyielding trash wave!
You didn't love the sloppy zombie make out session?
You can only choose between this or Zack's version of a zombie outbreak.
You missed Blue Eye Samurai, which is decentky good in ambition.
4:27:15 Hulu's Futurama - I agree. There were a couple I really liked and. acouple that were just "meh." It's not in its heyday, but it was still good... enough.

2023 was one of the best years for gaming, and one of the worst years for movies
A great EFAP. Last year was wiiiild.
I agree with all the others who have said to bring Patrician back for an episode that he's more knowledgeable on. He's really will spoken and good at analysis but this sort of broad retrospective wasn't really the right fit for a first episode imo.
Just got to the part where they talk about Starfield and you can see how much he immediately perked up and had a lot to say.
1:11:50 at this point I want a whole EFAP ranting about Harry Potter
We're overdue for a Potter Arc. Plenty of good and bad that would be super fascinating to hear them hash out
@@samwallaceart288 oah an EFAP movies would be so good. Maybe one year…
@@bananess_ I'd love for them to do it Saw or Final Destination style, and then do a overall breakdown. Obviously they couldn't go movie by movie in-detail, it'd take so long; but they could like have each panelist bring up their own general comment on the HP franchise and discuss the general pros and cons, the overall characters, worldbuilding issues, production challenges, etc.
Love Pat but he probably isn't a great fit for efap since he doesn't care about a lot of the slop they talk about from what I know.
It's not EFAP in general, this specific stream was all of the efaps of 2023, so it was kind of a strange one to have a new guest. Given time to research, he's easily on par with Mauler for is analytics.
sure but when are they ever going to talk about something he cares about lol@@ChiefCrewin
Mario movie could have been so much worse.
Sure it could be better, but I still don't know what a "great" Mario movie looks like.
That Dead Space remake EFAP is still the most baffling thing I've seen on this channel. I like the game as well, but it does have issues beyond the largely inferior characters. Just shitting on critics makes you sound like many of the individuals you cover.
It is disgusting how they salivate over this ESG compliance slop
I still have no idea why they spent so much time complaining about Synthetic Man. However you feel about him, his arguments about the DS remake and GoW are right. I really dislike how EFAP will point to everything wrong about something but will randomly dance around why it was done: TLOU2 with Joel's character assassination, the black ice giant in GoW, the Star Wars sequels, and the Dead Space changes. All have the same cause, all are bad, but they'll only really attack Disney for some reason.
@@angrynapolean3820No, his arguments were bad. They were unsubstantiated and basically amounted to him moaning about it being woke, whatever that even means in this context. Don't defend him, he deserves all the criticism he receives.
Commenting for pat. A true longman of the toxic brood
Hufflekings, rise up
Was I the only one whos entire strategy in pokemon was exclusively focus on your starter (catch the occasional wild but don't use them in battle) until you get legendary then use legendaries and starter?
Great as always boys
2:05:43 “Somehow…Grogu returned.”
