So are we going to talk about how underrated Harvey Dent's actor was? God Bless Heath but man if Heath wasn't so damn good, Aaron Eckhart would've had his moment!

Hi blaze I really enjoy your down-to-earth commentary with both games and reactions. I was wondering, are you going to play the rest of the Batman telltale series Also, will you be playing injustice?
Facts! He was brilliant too.
The Joker tells different stories when he talks about his scars because his past is ambiguous. In the comics once he even describes his origins as “multiple choice” lol.
It's true. No one truly knows what his actual origins are. My guess is the Red Hood movie one is the closest but people have debated that for years.
@@coreymcdaniel2759 I think that the Killing Joke one has been widely accepted for a long time, but that’s also the source of his “multiple choice” line so who knows lol
@@coreymcdaniel2759only he knows
To be honest, I think the Joker works perfectly without an origin. After Batman takes out organized crime, the Joker just appears out of thin air in response.
@@fynnthefox9078 I agree. It's kind of fun having a mystery to solve with him on top of him being a dangerous psychopath.
Back then writers didnt take scarecrow very seriously in the comics although hes a classic villian. He was very under-utilised. It wasnt until the movies and video games came out, scarecrow became more serious and more menacing in the comics.
I really think Scarecrow live action was a missed opportunity for DC HUb and Max because of how good Cillian Murphy is at the role, He really brought something to it that was in some of the animations, but the first time Gen aud. might have heard of him. I would have loved to have hin in a Scarecrow Stream Series.
This was Heath Ledger’s final completed work as he passed away from accidental pain killer overdose after filming wrapped up.
The imaginarium of doctor parnassus (2009) was hist last film after the dark knight
Whats really depressing is that Rachel died thinking Bruce chose to save Harvey over her. along with the fact she wrote him the letter about marrying Harvey she probably thought Bruce hated her for choosing to be with Harvey instead of her. Grim.
People so often forget that Alfred, canonically, is a former special forces soldier turned personal butler for the Wayne family.
Also, when Joker is pressing the gun into Harvey's hand and forces it to his own head, he has a finger behind the trigger, ensuring Harvey cannot pull it. For all his talk about just doing things, and giving people a choice, it is just an illusion. He IS ahead of the curve, planning 30 moves ahead, when others plan 5 moves ahead
Fun fact: That scene with Joker and Rachel the actress wasn't acting she was actually terrified
That’s honestly crazy.
You could genuinely see the fear. Especially when he grabbed her. That grab couldn’t have been in the script.
This is somthing every fan of tdk says when watching it with someone who hasnt seen it LOL like lord of the rings and the foot breaking
@@blaze3309From what I've heard, it was only in Heath's script. Maggie didn't know. It was also her first time seeing him in makeup.
@@blaze3309 Another fun fact for you, in that scene of Joker and Brian that was broadcast on the news, that was also on Heath Ledger’s personal script, they loved what Heath did with that so much they kept it
@MadesonMJ So was Michael Caine, moreso than anybody. His firt look at the Joker was in the party scene...
After this reaction i definitely think The Batman should be watched right after the dark knight rises, just so you can see the scope of the 2 best live action batmen, Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson
"She literally looks scared"
That's cuz she actually was scared ^^
Heath improvised his behavior in that scene and she genuinely didn't know what he was gonna do
In fact, Michael Caine also had some lines there but even he was just completely lost in Ledger's performance and look haha
The guy Joker holds a knife to in the party scene is actually the Utah governor Patrick Leahy who’s a huge Batman fan. He reprised the role in The Dark Knight Rises
He was also in Batman v Superman.
Minor correction: Patrick Leahy was not the governor of Utah- he was the senior Senator from Vermont (which means Bernie Sanders was actually the younger Senator from Vermont until Leahy retired). He has quite a history, including being the namesake of the Leahy Law, which prohibits the US arming foreign troops that have committed war crimes (there's been a lot of debate lately about invoking it over military aid to Israel), and also the only Senator to ever preside over a Presidential impeachment trial (usually done by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court). As President Pro Tempore of the Senate, he was also third in the Presidential line of succession. He is also a long-time Batman fan, and has appeared in cameos in FIVE Batman films, plus one episode of Batman the Animated Series.
Aaron Eckhart does an amazing job as Harvey Dent! I do wish his storyline was split into two movies though. He barely gets to be two-face then he dies.
13:40 still gives me chills. "Look at me.
... LOOK AT ME!!" Great reaction.
31:33 Gotta admit, the Joker knows how to rock a nurse's uniform.
Michael Cain as Alfred actually had lines to say during the party scene when Joker showed up but it was actuallt his first time seeing Heath Ledger as Joker in full makeup and he was genuinly scared and actually forgot his lines
I believe the reason Heath Ledger licks his lips in this movie is because those prosthetics scars kept falling off and the only way to keep them on was to lick them.
Correct
It's also an actual mannerism people who have had glasglow smile scars did in real life too (this used to be a common method of mutilation, particularly from gangs), because when the skin is split around your lips, your lips and mouth lose most of their moisture so people with those scars are usually constantly having to lick their lips in an attempt to retain some moisture around their mouth.
So many iconic lines. It’s hard to explain now, more than 15 years later, how huge this movie was when it came out. Ledger’s performance is legendary, but It may surprise you to learn that many, many people doubted that he would be able to pull it off. I agree that Scarecrow was underutilized in this trilogy- despite Cillian Murphy’s casting- but honestly that’s consistent with the comics & other media. It has been argued that he has been best served by the video games. I’m hoping he shows up in the new Batman series & gets a good part to play in the story.
What I scare about this movie, that's many people in real life agree with Joker's philosophies. Not just "oh, he's right" kind of agree, but the "I like that philosophy, I want to live with that" kind of agree. It's crazy so many people idolize a villain that way
My favorite thing about the scars storylines is how Joker would always bend it to fit into the narrative of the person he's trying to terrify. So for instance, Gambler in the previous scene has shown very explicit anger and explosive reaction to Joker joking about him not being able to afford a nickel for his grandma, and it's a very obvious thing in general for gangsters to have grown up in broken homes, which is why he relates his story into something that he could relate to.
While talking to Rachel and hunting down her soon to be, Harvey Dent, he bends the story into a more tragic downfall between lovers after one's face was disfigured, coincidentally enough predicting it, to truly get under her skin.
I wonder what he would've said to Batman.
Yeah, Batman wasn't originally going for Harvey. He was going for Rachel Joker knew this so he told Batman the opposite locations. Just goes to show how well they did this movie only the Joker can screw with the world's great detectives head like that.
and the boats probably had the detonator to their own boat lol
Harvey and Bruce were friends for a long time in the lore. They grew up together. They really show it amazingly well in Batman The Animated Series.
Bruce's Lamborghini is called "Lamborghini Murciélago" "Murciélago" means bat in Spanish
"A silent guardian, a watchful protector,a dark knight"
Gordon's monologue at the end gets me every time as well!
The applause during each pivotal scene in the movie theater when I watch it… amazing
Excellent review/reaction! And that last moment, that swell of emotion, every time I see it, I feel it too.
Heath Ledger was the first actor to win the award first best actor even though he had already passed away
The reason joker licks his scars is because the prosthetics they put on Ledgers face would periodically come loose, so he would lick them to push the scars back in place, which ended up turning into a kind of tick
Dunno if you caught it but the guy who figured out that Bruce is Batman is meant to be a nod to this universes Riddler. Much like how his name is usually Ed Nygma for the play on the word Enigma, Mr. Reese is meant to be a play on the word mysteries.
Just a cool little easter egg
As part of the Arkham community we approve of your video and love it❤
5:03 I agree! Scarecrow deserves more love! My boy scarecrow is done dirty.
I’m just gonna say it. I love you❤. You’re just dishing out content that I loved growing with games and now movies. You’re a real one
the reason the Joker kept licking his lips is because the prosthetic pieces around his mouth would often dry out and would need the glue re-applied, so Heath just kept licking that piece and it became a thing in the movie.
yeah, I've always thought that Scarecrow wasn't at his full potential in this trilogy, he's such an amazing super-villain and it is a shame that in Batman Begins is Ra's who gasses the whole city, when ofc it should've been Crane
This is my favorite movie! Top of the list for obvious reasons. Heath Ledger took the joker to a whole new legendary level that not even mark hamil could achieve and that's saying something. Every part of this except Rachel's new actor was perfect. It is an absolute masterpiece. I see where you are coming from on scarecrow but he isn't the one they wanted you to focus on. So glad you decided to react to this movie in particular and the whole series in general. So happy you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I saw this in the theater opening weekend friday afternoon. The theater was packed, even though it was early afternoon. I had seen everything from the Batman franchise before (cartoons, movies, jtvshows, comics, toys). When my boyfriend and I got out the theater, I immediately text my brother and typed: I just saw thee best Batman movie everrrr!!!
Your reaction was very enjoyable. Excited to see you do "The Dark Knight Rises" next! All the best on your channel!
Awesome reaction!!!
Can’t wait for the Dark Knight Rises Reaction!
Reactions like this are interesting cause I literally don’t say anything when I watch movies even if I’m with people
Great reaction bro but dnt be sorry for showing what you feel, we need more of that in the world not less. RIP to one of my favorite actors Mr. Ledger. New sub btw keep up the good work blaze
This movie brought you to tears! Its so emotional!
I'm really glad you enjoyed this movie. It's a favourite of mine and absolutely deserves all the praise it gets. Of course, if you're looking for a total shift in tone and tons of campy fun, I'll always suggest the 1960s Batman just to see how Batman was like when it first got mainstream popularity, haha.
Too sad Heath Ledger could not see this masterpiece... RIP Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger had commitment to the role by staying several nights in a mental asylum and writing a diary in character as The Joker. Also Heath Ledger is the only Non American born actor to play the joker, Ledger was Australian born
Are you going to do the 2nd Batman telltale game
Gordon's son is one of the most evil people in all of Westeros.
It puts the chair against the door. I can never get enough of that scene. You see Bale's Batman almost hyperventilating as he's ready to let go of the restraints against the Joker.
The scene of blowing up the hospital had to be taken in one try. But the explosives didn't worked right, but how they got around it you saw in the movie. Yep, despite the initial failure of explosives, they still got that scene in one try.
That is an urban legend. they debunk it in the directors commentary. if the explosives hadn't gone off they would have to immediately evacuate the set and call in the bomb squad. the reason for the long brake is so that they could keep Heath Ledger safe and get the shot in the one take they had, so they came up with him repeatedly clicking the button again as if they hadn't gone off properly.
Yeah if you watch the animation in the extras, it implies that the delay was supposed to happen. I don't know why so many people think it was a blooper. Makes no sense.@@thepanpaladin1043
DEFINITELY FOR SURE CHECK OUT THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE
I didn't know you have a channel that you react to movies that's good :-) I was watching your assassins creed gameplay 😀
Oh! There was hype for The Joker months before the movie came out? Massive hype. Mr. Ledger passed away at the beginning of tha same year. So all of us in the theater that first time at midnight showings? We all got blown away by that Ledger performance. It surpassed that massive hype and a decade and a half later? Still surpasses the hype and whoever has played Joker since.
I hope you eventually get to the most recent Batman movie. The Batman. W reaction
30:50 but that is a lie because the joker has a series of intricate plans. He said what he said to two-face not because joker believed it but because those words would lead two-face down a more destructive path
this movies is one of those Goated classics. it hits all the right notes
First! I think lmao. Excited to watch this movie. Like Blaze, I don't know anything about batman other than the Telltale games (even if I only watched a little since those didn't call my attention.)
Sadly In Movie Was Wrong Script
in movie barbara is gordon wife (yes its crazy xd )
11:10 you have no idea bro. I remember the movie ending and turning to my dad "that was a really good movie right? Like not just to me or just a good superhero movie but actually a really good FILM?" And my dad goes "ya.. we need to see this again." And we saw it like 5 times. The only other movies I saw that many times in theaters were King Kong 05 and Spiderman 2
Man I watched Spiderman 2 like a billion times so I hear you on that.
I had the movie on my PSP and would watch and re watch and rewatch it lol
wait, you do movies too? i can't wait to watch more
I love Nolan’s Batman trilogy, but yeah, I feel you, man. I dislike how Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow was treated in these movies as a whole.
The prosthetics Heath Ledger wore for his Joker outfit irritated him causing him to lick his lips. But it was so creepy that they decided to incorporate it into his character.
Question if you played video games where is your UA-cam channel for that? Do you have a link?
1st 10 minutes baby. Keep it going Blaze. Hope the Tim Burtons are next🤞😎👍
Yes, the CIA's Skyhook program existed.
The Fulton surface-to-air recovery system (STARS), also known as Skyhook
Developed for the CIA in the early 1950s
The first human pickup using Fulton's STARS took place on August 12, 1958
The Dark Knight Trilogy are my favorite Batman movies.
When you watching rises?been looking for the episode
Unrelated but what kind of hair maintenance do you have to do to keep your hair looking like that
Easily the best Joker ever. Heath Ledge gives such a scary performance
Yea dude the actress didn’t even see him with make up until that scene so she was definitely terrified bro
The whole trilogy does a disservice to Scarecrow. Film has yet to actually do Dr. Crane well.
My birthday is also on April 2nd!
31:38 Fun Fact Heath isn't acting here the explosives didn't actually go off for a second but they left it in because it fits
This is a myth that was cleared up by Nolan in an interview. The delay of the explosives was completely in the script including Heaths whole act in the scene. The only thing improvised here was when he got on the bus, the kept rolling and he was still in character.
If i had to rate this movie i would give it a 9.5/10 its just very phenomenal. I hope in the future you can also start reacting to Batman The Animated Series which explores Batman more villains
at some point you should check out the batman year one animated movie
im excited for when you watch the batman, its my favorite batman movie/movie in general i felt like a kid when i saw it in theaters pattinson the best live action batman by far

@@jo8327 he’s the most comic accurate live action batman we’ve had so far so yeah he’s the best at portraying batman
Can't wait for you to watch the batman 2022
Fun fact... Gordon wife name also Barbara
The change in the voice was definitely a step in the wrong direction.
Imma be 100 Blaze i gotta disagree with one thing: Joker is not going on a whim. He wants people to think that. Just think about everything you know of him from Arkham from this movie from anywhere and suddenly you might realise he is a mastermind at work constantly getting a really complex plan in the works. He does at times act random but it is not out of his plan. For example dropping the woman out of the window for batman to catch. He had a plan there but making Batman jump after her just made more sense in the moment. He had the easiest work without him in the room and that got him out. Some versions of the joker even are speculated to be what is called "super sentient" where he is even aware of his involvment in the comics and that he isn't real but that is going deep to the theory teritory but yeah.
Joker is a master planner not a random crazy dude. He wouldn't be that big of a problem if he was just crazy.
When you gonna get around to The Dark Knight Rises?
This film is awesome even you don’t care much for superhero’s. Awesome trilogy.
Curious to see what you will think of the third film because it is by far my least favourite of the trilogy.
Um Clássico instantâneo.
Another fun fact the reason heath keeps licking his lips through out the movie is because the wax make up stuff he wore, the adhesive kept coming off so it had to lick it to keep it from falling off. They thought it made the joker even creepier in the movie so they kept it in
I love when little mistakes work out
@@blaze3309RIGHT? He was a legend.
14:15 speaking of, you gonna play the sequel or what?
I'm new to your channel but this reaction was top notch! 🤓 Please react to"Nope" if you haven't already. Would love to hear your thoughts. Greetings from London, England 🤓🇬🇧
Most reactors have a panic attack watching this.

Awesome reaction. The prisoner knew what the Joker was about and knew not to play his game. So he tossed the donator off the ship.
Crazy huh? 😄
can you react to american psycho next lol
How are you still a non-batman fan after the arkham series ?
It helps filter out the comments.
If I say I’m a Batman fan people are going to expect me to have certain knowledge and spoil me on it.
When they see I’m not a fan they are less likely to expect me to know things so they are less harsh in the comments and also don’t spoil future media that I want to watch or play
@@blaze3309 I understand your point, i discover batman with the arkham series

You should watch the Fnaf movie
I'm going to upload that reaction soon.
LOL Dude, it wouldn't be even mildly coincidental even if you had the SAME Bday, let alone 2 days off. Also, images of Heath Ledger as the Joker are scattered everywhere online. You really had NO image in your head of him in character?
I will never be a fan of Heath's Joker, he only has the look but not the personality or essence of Joker. He is like 1/3 Joker, 1/3 Anarky and 1/3 just a crazy guy lol. Heath plays a good villain no doubt, but it wasn't Joker, He should have been Anarky cause his philosophy is more accurate to what Heath was doing.
this trilogy was made as „batman in real life” so non of these characters is like in the comics or cartoons
and i think that Heaths joker is what real life joker could be
@@jo8327 Scarecrow was done beautifully. Most Batman villains are already fairly realistic. The only one that's not, is Killer Croc and Poison Ivy, and the Lazuris Pit bringing Ra's back. But Penguin, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, Harley, Joker, Riddler, Bane are all realistic already. Heath wasn't Joker, just a fanboy of Joker trying to be a copycat.
@@ItApproaches i might not agree with all that but i 100 percent agree with your take on scarecrow
