  • How To Make Panaeng Curry with Pork | Gaeng Panaeng | Authentic Family Recipe #13
    Amy from World of Thai Food present how to make a ”Gaeng Panaeng Moo” recipe that has been passed down in her Thai family over generations. This is authentic Thai home cooking at its best and easiest.
    Spelling of Thai words in English is ambiguous and there is little or no official standardisation. Panaeng curry is also commonly referred to as Kaeng Phanaeng, Phanang, Panang, Paneng, or Penang curry.
    Our website will go live soon and that's where you will find our recipes, tutorials and how to recipe videos. In the meantime we will publish the recipe below just in case some of you might want to try it out!

      Thank you 🙏 We built that set in our garden in Nakhon Si Thammarat and we loved it. Unfortunately, the set was destroyed by a cyclone. Due to our work situation we cannot record videos in NST but our fans can help by sharing our content so that we hopefully can record cooking videos in the beautiful Thai south full time 🙏

    I'm a Muslim and just watch your channel to learn how to cook from Thai style. Muslims do not eat pork, and I will substitute it with beef. Thank you for sharing

      Glad to heat that! You can pretty much replace pork with beef or chicken in all Thai recipes. Try it and let me know how it came out! Thank you for watching and the next next recipe to be published will be beef 🙏

      World of Thai Food wonderful but I thought white peppercorns was more traditional no?

    • @WorldofThaiFood
      @WorldofThaiFood  4 роки тому

      AWolf 91 Hi again. One isn’t more traditional than the other - matter of preference and geography only. Every region and family in Thailand have their own style of making these traditional Thai dishes 🙏

    I love that type of curry! I have a question for you and am interested in your response.
    In the USA I have had this dish in many different Thai restaurants all over the country. They all seem to use a little peanut butter. It gives it a slight peanut buttery taste and perhaps serves as a thickener.
    Is adding peanut butter not traditional or just another way of cooking the dish? New subscriber!

    • @WorldofThaiFood
      @WorldofThaiFood  4 роки тому +4

      Al Pulley Hi! Panaeng curry is wonderful and certainly one of the handful of Thai dishes that people in the west love and know by name. As such it is a great representation of Thai cuisine - with popularity comes different pan-Asian as well as local interpretations of the dish. The use of peanut butter may be one of those. Peanut butter is not native to Thai cuisine and it’s not something we use in cooking. We do use peanuts in various dishes but it should not traditionally play a key role in this particular dish. I’d say that my recipe is a fair representation of how this dish is cooked in Thailand but there is nothing wrong with making it yours. If you like it a certain way - adapt and go for it. Food is to be enjoyed. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching, engaging and most of all subscribing 🙏

      @@WorldofThaiFood thanks for responding. I suspected that Thai restaurants in America modified the recipe for the consumer.
      I will try to make beef salad later today. I will follow your recipe as close as possible.

      @@WorldofThaiFood just finished making it! I used an air fryer to cook the meat. I was adding additional palm sugar to get the taste that is familiar to me at local Thai restaurants. For my first time I think it went well.
      I am not sure if you have filmed this or not but is it possible to show a few Thai beverages? Thai tea?

    • @WorldofThaiFood
      @WorldofThaiFood  4 роки тому +1

      @@alpulley4894 Never tried the air fryer myself. Do you recommend it? Glad to hear you adjusted the taste with palm sugar - that is the thai way. Will definitely make some Thai beverage videos. Thank you for making my recipe and for watching my channel. Stay tuned please
