According to Hong Kong stuntman Phillip Ko, Lee was challenged by a tiger/crane kung fu stylist, an extra on Enter the Dragon (1973), who claimed Lee was a phony. Lee, who was furious at the claim, accepted the challenge to prove that his martial arts were indeed the real deal. The fight, which took place on the film set, only lasted 30 seconds.
Tragically his son Brandon Lee, an actor and martial artist like his father, was killed in a freak accident on the set of The Crow (1994).

This little man could easily destroy today's best in mma. He learned some ground play late in life too. Hands down.
He was 5 ft 8. Not really little. On top of that by the time enter the dragon was filmed he had 6 years of grappling under his belt as well as everything else.

Bruce was truly unique. He did have something most people don't. He was different. You can train and train but you either have that special something or you don't. Bruce has it. People don't seem to realise he is renowned for his martial arts abilities NOT his acting. But Bruce was so so much more than just a TRUE martial artist. But to anyone who isn't a fan, all they will ever see is a guy who was good at punching and kicking, and that's such a shame.
He was, and still is a true exponent for the martial arts as a way of life and self discovery. These guys in the UFC and MMA are not martial arts. The martial arts is not about fighting other people for money or fame. Bruce trained like the ancients, and that is why no one in MMA will ever reach his level. Not only his physical attributes, but his mind is what separates him from the rest.
The people who claim a normal UFC fighter could beat him are not only disrespectful, but incredibly delusional.

Wonderful tribute. Sifu Lee was blessed with a rare degree of inner as well as outer strength, talent and intelligence. He had thousands of books in his home library (he was heavy into philosophy), he developed his brain as much as his body. I believe he was also an old soul, he projected so much maturity when he was much younger. So much he would have accomplished we'll never know about. So sad.

Bruce Lee was born in 1940. This picture looks like its from the 40s so 1945 as stated could be true. There's no way the bigger person on the left is Bruce because he can't be that old in the 40s. That older person in the picture on the left that looks like Bruce might be his dad.
