@@pablo9364yes I thought so too. Knowledge vs ignorance. Light vs the dark. Same way real Bruce vs his pride/ignorance. But yeah with the technology at that time, it wouldn't have been possible to create such a scene, unless they casted someone as his body double. But the main issue with that would've been, nobody would've looked as ripped as Lee so it would've been obvious to the audience that it's somebody else and thus they would've failed to generate any impact.

50 years since Bruce Lee passed away and he has left a considerable legacy. It's most unfortunate he didn’t complete his version of "Game of Death." This footage, from August to October 1972, offers a fascinating glimpse at what might have been.
My aunt didn't believe me when I said before 1976 I knew who BL was because of watching the movies they had on TV at the time they had some Chinese Kung Fu ones on which was watching it on a black and white TV. I saw Enter the Dragon at Lougheed Mall back when it had its 3 theatres. All before I was 11 (I'm now soon pushing 60). Like you I'm a life long fan and admirer of Bruce who's style and philosophical outlooks have had a profound influence on who I am today. After he died and Linda brought him back to Seattle for burial my parents drove down to pay our respects. At that time there was just a small plaque on the ground. Over the years I have been to Seattle 7 or 8 times always making a point of stopping at Lakeview Cemetery to say Hello and Thank-you to Bruce and am glad to see his final place of rest has become a shrine much more fitting to a man like Bruce and his son. Stay cool Firefly and always remember 'Be Water'. The ability to adapt to any situation is one of the most important skills to learn in this world.
A superb showcase of Lee's abilities and transcendent combat philosophy. Bruce is the GOAT, always has been and likely always will be. I can't help wondering why his character in the movie didn't go up to the last level after everything he went through. In any case, Bruce Lee's impact and influence will live forever. May he and Brandon rest in peace.

@@chachiarcola3208Bruce Lee was a grand master of martial arts, Kareem Abdul Jabar was not an opponent for him. Kareem was famous personality that would bring most interesting the movie and one his students and personal friends, that’s why he brought him in the movie.
@@flookie6283 Who is "Saenchai"???? Either way, i can agree with you. Bruce was never "Invincible", not even in his own movies. He knew how to learn from his opponents. Tony Jaa, Chiba Shinichi, v.v.v.v. are even more talented than Bruce was. The thing is, what Bruce had was more than just fighting skills.
@@hanglong8056 Saenchai is a professional Muay Thai fighter. I agree, nobody is invincible, there’s always at least one person out there that can beat you. They don’t even have to be famous. I’m just responding to what he said, that Bruce was the fastest and most powerful. Saenchai has the best speed to power ratio ever, there’s no competition. He’s about the same size as Bruce but throws his punches and kicks about twice as fast and twice as powerful. He’s one of the fastest guys to ever fight, period. That’s his hallmark. Some fighters are know for just their power, or their kicks, their head movement. Bruce was known for his philosophy. Saenchai is known for super human speed and cat like reflexes, which makes him seem even faster than he is
@@flookie6283 I agree. In fact, Tony Jaa is already better in terms of fighting skills. But as we all know, people are unfair in fighting, especially street fight. Therefore, we need to constanly learn in order to adapt
they were so superb! I never saw the final part where he reaches the top, then descends only to find out he still has to fight those outside to leave! Wow! brutal!

Truly amazing lost footage!!... This was way better than the final cut of the movie. Bruce really was a real legend. Unfortunately, the last soundtracks added (in the fight against Abdul Jabbar) doesn't fit in good way to the scenes, it sounds modern, like a fight videogame, and it sounds good but it doesn't match to the ambience and style from the original soundtrack. Plus, when this soundtracks was added, the voices and sounds from the actors lost presence.
That was Lee's real martial arts philosophy, at least when it came to the physical...protecting your self at all cost. Lee understood the concept of real street fighting. If you encounter a guy who is 6 feet, 5 inches and a whopping 300 pounds, you do whatever you have to do to protect your "LIFE." That's how Bruce Lee envisioned every possible street fight--you may have to fight to the death. Unfortunately, many people have died in street fights because they never considered the cost of life.
@@thomasbrown3793 Apparently Bruce-Lee had to order in a custom made punch bag that was 700 lbs because others were too weak. ua-cam.com/video/7uXid-nVCAs/v-deo.html
Dan Insatos face when Bruce pulled out the nunchucks was priceless. He truly was and always will be Bruce’s number one student and loved him dearly. Even when you see the interviews with Dan you can see that has lived with him for over 50 years.
I believe this is Bruce's finest fight choreography.... the nunchaka battle with Dan Inosanto is really wicked with blinding speed on both sides. Ironically its my understanding that Dan Inosanto taught Bruce the nunchaka Bruce expanded on it adding his flare and speed to the mix. Of all the times Bruce utilized the nunchuks this one I feel takes top honors with the Chinese connection coming in second ....that fight with the Japanese wielding a samurai blocking Bruce's attempted blows with the nunchuks was phenomenal. But game of death was excellent nunchaka fight

Sadly, if he didn't know Christ before he died he's in flames. If you want proof look at isreal. It's a nation that has been through the holocaust and fights this very night for their lives yet God still calls them His people. I've seen real miracles of things just simply multiplying and people raised from the dead in Christ name but people ask where's th proof? The fact that people who mock God and are still alive to laugh about it shows God is love
This is actually perfect as it is!! These 39 min, It actually feels like smthing that wud happen to you after death, you're stuck in a limbo and fighting your way out of it.. climbing your way up, trying sm way to get out and whenever you think it's over, a voice outside shouts that it's not over yet! A dream like sequence with no beginning or the end.. isn't it just perfect?? Rest in peace, bruce. It actually didn't need any dialogues, they did gud even with their body language and mannerisms. The biggest thing that stands out is the Ji Han Jae (Hapkido master) footage. So much of his good footage was left out that in Game of Death he looked like a bit of a pushover, easily defeated by Bruce Lee. But in the unedited fight he showed masterful spin kicks and smoothness. The techniques he exhibited were the best example in an action movie of the concept of blending with the attack (Aiki) even Steven Seagal at his peak didn't quite film it as well as Ji Han Jae. The other thing was Master Jae had at the time completed a tour of Vietnam teaching the ROK armed forces (something he did for some time) and had likely been challenged and tested in ways Bruce Lee and others had not. I think the martial arts world missed out on a great opportunity to see this man in unrestricted action.
@@livsstilen 🤣 Ya he's a good talker, I remember he said he could beat Bruce, his ego remind me of LaBron James, calling himself the GOAT, when 99% of people know MJs the 🐐

I have seen several cuts of this missing footage, and this is by far the most complete. Especially in the wide shots we're James Tien and the other fighter are seen watching the fight. I really love this and it is really sad to think this film was not completed because it would have been his best work. I would also advise everyone to watch man from Hong Kong with Jimmy Wang Yu and George Lazenby. Once you see George fight in that film you will know why Bruce wanted him for Game of Death..
Bruce always upgrade his fighting skills, that why u won't get bored with his films, never stop improving and learn. If he is still alive today, there would much more improvement seen in martial arts technique & philosophy. Rip Mr. Lee Jun Fan (Bruce)!
The guy in the black gi is Chieh Yuen. Game of Death would have been more than just a movie if he had lived to finish it. It would have conveyed Bruce's concept of Jeet Kune Do/martial arts in a physical, philosophical and spiritual way. I personally wished he had finished that project instead of Enter the Dragon to be honest. He did not need ETD to get worldwide recognition, that was inevitable anyway. He was genius plain and simple.
What gets me is the Chuck Norris memes. I saw Norris one day at a Casino in Lake Charles Louisiana. 5 tall women got out of the Limousine. I couldn't even see Norris. He was literally 5 feet tall with boots on. The dude couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag.
I grew up on all the Bruce Lee flicks. The end footage was just a metaphor. Bruce Lee fought his inner demons and him and his Brandon will be legends forever

Yes, pz3j, it's true he has a lot to share if he is still alive but he had learned everything he needed in martial Arts, and he was a real innovative martial Artist. If he had not died some 49/50 years ago, he would have created many innovative martial Arts techniques and/or new schools and movies that would take the Hong Kon movie industry to its highest peak and level. But the movie industry is a business like any others and competition is the key, together with some evil business entrepreneurs looking to make money and gain advantages in their movie businesses, they would do anything to get rid of Bruce Lee. I am a martial artist myself, so I don't believe that Bruce died suddenly because of overtraining. He might be weaker but would not have died because he was only about 33 years old. Someone that age with solid martial art background and body could not possibly die so suddenly. It would take at least 10 to 20 years for Bruce to die if overtraining was the cause of his death.
As far as I know there is no actual proof that Lee was too fast for the cameras to catch other than anecdotal evidence and hearsay. However, movie cameras in the ’60s and ‘early 70s were not as good or fast as modern ones, so it wasn’t uncommon for fast action to blur in the film, making this a completely believable assertion.
Bruce Lee's voice was never used in any of the fight scenes as they were all dubbed by voice actors back then. The only exception was Bruce Lee did the dub himself for all of the dialogue scenes in Enter the Dragon, but the screams in the fight scenes were still not his. The only time you heard his actual screams were his days doing American TV as those were all shot in sync sound.
@Dark Knowledge point based system dont prove much. bruce-lee was all encompassing. surely he could fight very well. a guy who cant fight wont sit and make movies about fighting and directs them and also trains big stars. He had to fight in san=francisco to coach and he wont that fight. after that they just let bruce-lee do his thing. he was revered in hk for a reason. chuck-norris himself said pound per pound for his weight he was damn good. he was a world champ and wont be ready to take a fall unless he thinks opponent is special--even in movies! van-dam is the closest you can think of as a fighter come actor( he has records to prove but he is not mme). An mme fighter has no chance against a boxer knock out( but that is weight based just like mme) bol-bol who fought with both in movies said after bruce only van-damn comes close! you can see here, he is not there to score points. it is game of death or survival. he was charismatic and unless you have that it factor, people wont follow you.
Fighter or actor?...If it's martial arts actor, then Steven Seagal gets my vote. At least he he doesn't get his arse kicked before he defeats his opponent!
Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do was considered the "broken rhythm" style that he mentions in this film. Traditional martial arts concentrated on "routine" movements that were repeated over and over again in practice. Bruce recognized these combatant patterns of movement and knew how to exploit them into his own fighting style. This is why he incorporated all forms or styles of martial arts--including Wing chun--with his own form of fighting. Unpredictability. Jeet Kune Do is "The style of no style."
Thanks for showing us this. I saw Game of Death as a teen back in 1980. Then again two days ago and was not impressed at all. I read Bruce Lee’s widow was not happy about the final product of Game of death. Now I know why….. they should have just shown this after the credits as a bonus . It’s way better than the lackluster plot from the movie.

Remember seen this in Bruce's lee legacy collection back in the days revealing some of Bruce's work found after his 2nd studio was targeted. It's so unfortunate that we never got to see his work completed and 99% of his movies are scrapped together incorrectly and also due to incomplete scenes 💔 when he die they wanted to make money off him quickly and didn't bother to even try finding the other takes? While you were watching Bruce on TV I had already seen Fists of Fury, Chinese Connection, and Return of the Dragon in movie theatres down in that part of Van.

A superb showcase of Lee's abilities and transcendent combat philosophy. Bruce is the GOAT, always has been and likely always will be.
I truly love Bruce Lee's vision for this movie. I truly wished he could have finished it all. It would have been just as popular as Enter the Dragon.
for real
I honestly think it would have been even better than enter the dragon
This was better to watch then the movie they made after Bruce passed away. Thank you for posting this.

Comment 3500--Simply awesome fight scenes and Bruce Lee will ALWAYS win in the end!

Very cool! Bruce Lee was the ultimate cool. And, that “broken rhythm” explanation, is the SHIT!! 💪🔥🔥

My son grew up wanting to be like bruce lee to this day we watch all his videos and cannot beleive how good he was.
Yasar yasar I know sar I believe you sir
Are you single?
If Bruce were alive today, he’d be the highest paid actor !
At 81 years old ?
I Don't Thinks So
If he was alive he would not be famous as he was dead now
Bruci lim
Liam Needing has had a late career boost as an action hero.... he's around 70 now.
Christopher Lee still could sword fight in Star Wars wot in his 80s?
Back in 70s after we get out of the movie theater watching his movies we all act like him on the streets, of course the older people were looking at us as something was wrong with us. I am glad to see his movies before he passed on :( RIP!
back in the late 70s, After seeing fist of fury all of us guys went out an made our own nunchucks It was nuts 🤪🤪..
@@livsstilen Mops & brooms were definitely in danger! Those were good days!
@@davidantonionavarro8136 yep. I kind of lost it for youtupe. The level of zensorship is redicuolus. They deleted a video I made in thailand about cockfights and other stuff, we don't live in a free world anymore
Remember the old stupid commercial this is your brain and this is your brain on drugs with the 🍳🥚. I'm probably sure that's what those old farts thought 🤣

Bruce Lee his a very good fighting. So i❤ Bruce Lee so much until now.RIP idol. 🙏 🙏. Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
So completely different from the 1978 edition! Unfinished...but deep within is a superior story wanting to be told
Many thanks 🙏🏽
Watched so many times - phenomenal piece of cinematic history
Bruce Lee's facial and body expression at 18:23 is priceless. "Alright, you go ahead and take over as I watched you get your ass whipped, because I was doing just fine on my own before you rudely interrupted our groove."
If lee had finished this film, i have no doubt it would have been his masterpiece,as far ws expressing his philosophy about jkd and the whole martial arts in general among other things. Lee's original story/plot sounded like a really good story. I hate that lee died so young..smh.. when i was young lad, I remember my older brothers saying"why didn't hod just take a piece of shite instead of Bruce lee." I swear Hollywood and the lee family should be involved...they should make this film or "remake" it with all this footage and Lee's story. Just find an actor that looks exactly like Lee or close to him..maybe use deepfake and put out the game of death as lee intended.👍🏻🐉
He directed and choreographed the fights. Imagine if this was a finished film before he passed.
A big loss to the martial arts industry and society as a whole he is sorely missed
Bruslee
Would have been better than Enter the dragon
The one and only. My dream as a child was to one day meet him. I was crazy with his movies. That day, never came.
Bruce literally invented the theme for most video games that were invented 10 plus years after his passing.
Complete the challenge on every pagoda level till you reach the boss fight.
.
Actually he didn't really invented this concept. It was originated in Greece thousands years ago.
