@@mkelkar1 it is actually Latvian that is closer to sanskrit .. I have had a chance also to hear how contemporary Lithuanians pronounce sanskrit and they are good but generally it is harder for them than it is for Latvians. But I guess this is smth we agree to disagree with our brother nation :)

Имеют ли какое-то отношение славянские боги к современным русским? Ни малейшего. Я про то, что надо заниматься настоящим фольклором, нам, русским, повезло, у нас фольклористы ездили по деревням с середины 19 века и по сей день ездят, успели записать горы материалов, действительно актуальных вещей, настоящих ритуалов, обрядов, песней разных жанров, плясок и просто бесчисленных вагон всякого такого. Сохранен ли кем-либо так же фольклор Латышей или Литовцев? Не знаю, если знаешь, то буду очень рад узнать

Как ни странно, несмотря на геноцид, сохранилось немало латгальских и среднелатышских народных песен. Неужели вы не слышали ранние альбомы группы Tautumeitas и песни в исполнении групп Grodi и Garataka?
А русским не очень повезло. Мало кто поёт народные песни и исполняет народные танцы.
@@Pseldonymov Ну, мало не мало, посмотрите канал "век", там полно молодежи и разных коллективов, так что в песенном жанре русские хоть и потеряли немало за 20 век, но восстановить можно. Былин вот записано примерно только 70 всего, это конечно мало, но это очень старый песенный жанр, дошел он до нас уже в предсмертном виде. А вот про эти группы ничего не слышал, сейчас послушаю
