    You mentioned carving but didn’t say if you carved before or after the rust treatment. Looking at the end of your video with some examples, it looks like you carved before. What if you armed after? Have you tried that?

    Great vid! Always wondered how some people make it seem like it’s a different material. How do you do an aged bronze look?

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  6 років тому

      Thanks! Bronzing is very similar to the rust finish. I will be having a video on that coming out soon :)

    Man I really like your videos! Very informative! Thank you for what you do. We have bought the stuff to get started! I have to ask if you can do a bronze skull? We are looking into a cold metal coating, but wanted to get your opinion on it!

    great video. i tried you method. how long does it take to rust that great orange color. its been about a week and starting to rust (deer skull) any other info would be great.....thank you again for sharing.....

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  5 років тому

      Hey Nacole! It should only take about a day. If its not resting as much as you want get some steel wool and wet it with the activator and lightly buff the surface. That will expose the powder and let it oxidize better.

      @@usskullhunter ok thanks i will try that...have a blessed day.

    I was wanting to do this a mule deer skull I have, how would you recommend painting the metal in the nasal cavity without damaging the skull?

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  4 роки тому

      So simply use a black spray paint. Spray it up into the nasal cavity real good and immediately while it is still wet pour/sprinkle the iron dust in so that it sticks to the wet paint. And then you can add the activator.

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  4 роки тому

      Hey Jeremy! Yes, you can absolutely add primer on first.

    Is there a salt water ratio that works as a activator best?

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  6 років тому

      about 1/4 salt for a cup of water is good.

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  4 роки тому

      @@alessandromosca779 Yes you could. I would say though that you would need to make sure the skull was fully degreased first.

    Hunter are you doing anything after it has rusted to stop the reaction? Are you then costing with anything, like a clear coat?

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  6 років тому

      Yeah so you can add a clear coat. In the description of the video I shared a link to a matte clear coat i use.

    Have you tried coffee or tea?

    • @usskullhunter
      @usskullhunter  Рік тому

      Hey! Yes, coffee gives a lighter stain which is nice. I have not had very much luck with tea, just doesn't seem to be strong enough to stain the skull in most cases.
