Thanks so much. This is the reason I made this video. Am working on one now that is very unique. Just learned that my gggg Grandfather served in the Connect Colonial Army, fought in the French and Indian war, fought at bunker hill several other battles under Washington. While at Valley Forge, Capt. Christopher Darrow once wrote a letter to the general and signed it. Found a copy on the internet, downloaded the it with his signature, copied his signature and put it on another powder horn along with Gettysburg 1778 which he also penned. Still working on the horn because this one is very special. I'll make another video with just the horn and a wee bit of history explaining it as soon as it's finished. Thanks again.
I was trying to figure out what this process was called while having an unhealthy interest in black powder firearms recently, Lo and behold found this vid! Now to make a flask to even start this journey… lol
Have fun my friend. Glad I could add to your enjoyment. Now to let you know some more interesting news, my wife just told me that since I did such a good job on the powder horn, I can now order an authentic wall hanger rifle to go with it. YEA!
@@billdarrow1709 Is there a certain seller on eBay you get the horns from? It's a project I would like to try. I'm currently prepping to start on my Kibler flintlock kit. I would like to make my powder horn. Thanks.
Beautiful, thank you for taking the time to show us how this is done. Good images you chose and well done Sir. Fair winds and God bless.
Thank you for your kind comments. Already gave that one to my son so I have to make one for me I guess...
Outstanding!! I feel like a genius, lol. Seriously, thank you, it's such a great idea and the horn looks fantastic.
Yes, art doesn't need to be hard, just smart. Have fun. I'm really a glass engraver and basically use the same technique. 🤓
