I have many of your videos and I will say that you are amazing. Your teaching and instructions of what to use for tools and how to use them is excellent. Very clear to understand and I have learned a lot from watching them. Thank you.
My CA glue started to bead up and made all of my powdered pigment run all over the skull instead of soaking up the material like yours did. Was it the CA glue or the powdered pigment? The pigment was for coloring resin.
Oh my goodness!! This is amazing!! I've been looking for a hobby to get into and this is perfect for me!! I can not wait to get stated. I've watched several of your videos already and plan to watch them all.. Thank you so much for creating them!! I've already got my first deer skull cleaned and ready to go.. I've got a 3000 variable speed dremal. I just need to order the right bits now and I'm wanting to try the turquoise inlay... So I'm ordering that stuff too. I just requested to join your Facebook group so I'll post what I come up with!! Again super excited and thank you!
Can you use fingernail polish remover or something like that to help remove excess? I am having difficulty sanding away the parts that went into natural divots in the skull
Thank you for putting up so many great videos! Just a thought, I was wondering if epoxy resin could be used with your carvings... or maybe with the rings. When I have more time, I’m looking forward to doing some carving myself thanks to you.
Hey Tana! Thanks for watching. Yes, you can use resin for the inlays and other applications. I kinda just love CA glue so I use it for everything haha. I have a video coming up though were I will be doing some "resin inlay" so to speak :D
Hey Tim! For some reason the last comment I made doesn't seem to have posted. If you lookin the description of the video just above (click the "SHOW MORE") there is a link to where I get mine as well as the other products I use.
I love your work. You do a great job at both the carving and video for UA-cam. Watching you has inspired me to give it a try myself. How long did it take you to learn skull carving? What source did you use to get started and learn the skills? Keep up the videos and keep rockin the carvings. You do amazing work.
Thanks Brian! I have been carving skulls for 4 years now. Always enjoyed whittling before then but did not focus on skulls till 4 years ago. When I started there was literally no information on skull carving which is what made me decide to share what I learned with others as I went :)
@@usskullhunter That's awesome that you made that choice. I taught myself Chip carving about 20 years ago because it's an old craft. I've done woodworking, and metal working my hole life. Was a machinist for 15 years. So I really enjoy making things, and any crafts that real common. Keep up the great video work too. Your very good at organizing the subject matter and not rambling like some UA-camrs do. Thank you for taking on the need to past on a skill like this.
I am still going thru your terrific videos. Do you have any experience/knowledge/practicality on dust collection systems? Your artwork is incredible!! Back to your videos:).
Wow that was beautiful I subscribed your work is wonderful I've been collecting skulls for sometime now I wish I had the skills to carve them the way you do beautiful work once again I've been been binge watching all your videos and you have a Lotta good information💖
I've got a wildebeest and a springbok skull right now, planning on carving andinkra symbols into them and inlaying them with copper dust (almost bought a solder and wire until I saw your copper inlay video). I am curious because I wanted to have the skulls lightly washed in a watercolor; do you have recommendations for making sure the inlay is properly sealed so the paint doesn't disrupt it?
Sweet those are some awesome skulls! Just depending on how you want the paint to react with the bone either a clear coat before you paint or simply paint right over the inlay and then add the clear coat should be fine.

Thanks for the great video! I can’t wait to do this!
What glue would you recommend to adhere crushed glass to a skull 🤔 Thanks!!

I would love to see how you would go about adding a turquoise inlay to your antler rings! Great video as always :)
Thanks :) I have done a few over on my Instagram @u.s.skullhunter
This is really cool. Beautiful work.
Thank you Lynn!

Hey Kandace! Sweeeeet! That's great, looking forward to what you get into :) and of course feel free to ask questions if anything comes up!
Can I use any kind of colorful powder then put the CA glue on top of it or does it have to be a certain kind of powder?
Can you use fingernail polish remover or something like that to help remove excess?
I am having difficulty sanding away the parts that went into natural divots in the skull
I love you work, thank you for taking the time to make the videos
Thanks Jay! You bet :)
Wow, this is cool. Would it be possible with other rocky materials too?
Hey Claudia, yes! I=The process is the same for most other crushed stone.
Looks good. Neat inlay.
Thank you Jamie!
That's a damn good job, looks really nice.
Thank you Troy!

@@briansigulinsky2512 That's awesome Brian! And thanks for watching, it's what keeps me going!
That's a nice skull and rack, did you get that hunting?
Hey Al! This one was for a customer.
May I ask why you used two grades of turquoise vs just the fine?
I guess I just like the differing size. Gives it a nice varied look :)
I am still going thru your terrific videos. Do you have any experience/knowledge/practicality on dust collection systems? Your artwork is incredible!! Back to your videos:).
OOPS! Just watched your video on your DIY downdraft box. Great idea and glad to read that you can isolate open holes to a smaller surface area.
Thank you Jerry! Take a look at this setup I have (if you have not gotten to it already lol) ua-cam.com/video/PzXSbZ2Lw5E/v-deo.html
That looks great! All of your creations are so well crafted! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
:)
Haha thanks Kinoko! I am honored to help :)
Can you share what stamp you use for the letters? I haven't been able to find anything large enough. Thanks
Hey lesa! So I actually used an image transfer like I show here www.usskullhunter.com/how-to-transfer-a-design-onto-a-skull
i love it. i got sum powdered stainless steel. it looks so cool.
Sweet, yeah that would look cool!
When you carve, you should use eyeglacees also.
Thank you for your teaching. =)
Is that a replica skull?
Wow that was beautiful I subscribed your work is wonderful I've been collecting skulls for sometime now I wish I had the skills to carve them the way you do beautiful work once again I've been been binge watching all your videos and you have a Lotta good information💖
Hey Monica! Thanks for watching and the nice compliments! If you ever get the urge to do some carving just let me know and I can try and help :)
When you put your final over coat of CA glue do you only put it over the turquoise area or do you brush it over the whole skull?
I just put in on the area of the inlay and a little bit around the it.
Thanks so much you're really helping me conceptualize my skull projects!
You bet Magalee! What are you workin on?
